Lou... 3,118
but tornados and crappy GAGs do in fact SMB. I didn't see confirmation of an actual tornado at WDW by any weather reporting agency, just conditions for tornados and that's common.High winds and lots of rain in a short period of time though. Having been here for 22 years, it's not that unusual, just look at the missing tree in my front yard. One day it was there and then it wasn't after a similar storm. GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Do you make an appointment for the haircuts? We've never done one.
BuckeyeFortMama 43
That stinks about the GAG. And that person's awning. Glad it wasn't yours. We had to replace one once. They aren't cheap. We had to replace an awning roller once too due to an overnight storm coming in suddenly at Myrtle Beach. Sorry about the GAG. Our first experience with GAGs wasn't good either. It was undercooked and tough. Since then we haven't had a problem. It's one of our biggest fears. We are so careful with ours most of the time. It was windy all day but wasn't moving the awning much at all until all of the sudden. Getting haircuts at MK is special.Michal has worked at the barber shop for as long as as I can remember. He's cut my hair a few times over the years.Did you notice that he spells his name Michal? No I didn't but it is special. My boys think its the best thing ever and were soooo disappointed when it was Michal's (I spelled it right) day off in December. Special or magical? Ok, ok, you beat it out of me, but just this once, it is magical. Just this once, on my trip report! That's bragging rights in my book! Finally caught up reading. Loving the way you tour the World, we try to do the very same thing. Rope Drop or Bust. We love Michal, both our boys had their very first haircut with him on Main Street. He has been there forever, I had my haircut done by him in 1998 when the shop was in the alley way. Big Thumbs up to BFF for the driving all the way and HDDR that evening. Thanks! Funny, Michal joked that little boys who are now men come back and have their picture taken with him and he wondered if he'd still be working at the barber shop when my boys were older. Cool haircut experience but tornados and crappy GAGs do in fact SMB.Next time hopefullly will be better. We haven't given up hope. There's always Halloween. Yes, yes, we know that there was no official tornado. I got Lou to say something was magical!!!!! Is there a prize? Kelly, you win the only prize available on the this trip report. Bragging rights and the ability to copy and paste this conversation at a later date to use.
BuckeyeFortMama 43
Do you make an appointment for the haircuts? We've never done one. We don't, we just walk up and get in line, but if we ever had just 1 day in the MK I would just to be sure. There are times we walk away because the wait is too long. We have pulled off being in the chair at parade time or getting out of the chair at parade time, both are dare I say MAGICAL!
BuckeyeFortMama 43
March 25, 2013 ANIMAL KINGDOM ROPE DROP AT 8AM SHARP! Of course, we are there bright and early and for the second trip in row we have unusual parking at the AK. Instead of our usual first row in Unicorn. We were directed here. Cast Lot Row 2. CRAZY! It was much colder at the AK than at the Fort so 2 of our brood got new sweatshirts on the way in. It's ok, we were due for a few new sweatshirts anyway. It was sorta an old fashion rope drop. They let us in early and held us at the Tree of Life while this guy just talked to us about what we would do when 8am came and they dropped the rope. Walk slow...blah blah blah....no reason to run....blah blah blah.... Wait did he say "drop the rope" ?? Oh yes he did. Lou.... I got a picture of the rope before they dropped it. Ok, now that I have taken care of that housekeeping I must say this was a terrible opening. It was just rules of the day, but while we waited I enjoyed this beautiful morning and snapped some glorious sunrise pictures. Oh, PS they let us in, but I am still enjoying this beautiful sunrise. Why don't we ride while we wait for BuckeyeFortFan to get back with our Safari FP's? Happy Boy! BFF is back so BFK1 gets off and we ride again! This morning is just beautiful. BFF and BFK1 rode PW while we rode TS a second time. When we got off BFK3 figured out this terrible fact. He's tall enough! FINALLY!!! But we can't ride again because BFF is now sick because his ride had the most spins there have ever been in the history of this ride (or so he said). Poor little man, we'll be back don't worry. BFF walked ahead to use the bathroom and we stopped to read this sign. I have new readers who enjoy reading these things. We picked up coffee on the way and tried on some expensive headbands Then we sat and enjoyed a breakfast snack ride outside Safari. We were having such a nice relaxing morning and the day was just turning out to be beautiful. The Safari followed suit. We haven't seen any animals yet, but these mounds of dirt are just GORGEOUS! Oh my goodness! I am just kidding. How about some real animals?

BuckeyeFortMama 43
cool pics Great update. :)Another great update! Thanks Ladies! I will try to get another round of pics up this morning before work. Rhino butt. Please warn me ahead of time if you are going to post any pics of that weed woman. I'm on the edge today and don't think I would handle the shock well. Thanks for calling out the Rhino Butt. It's better than Monkey Butt anyday. No need to worry that woman freaks me out too! BuckeyeFortMama 43
We are still on safari, but it's getting old. The driver has this high pitched squeaky voice and she keeps doing this annoying giggle at her own very lame jokes that are totally unneccessary-this ain't the jungle cruise. I don't think she is as bad as some have had recently with the lame jokes but the giggle is irritating. It sounds oddly familiar. We are headed over to pride rock (that's what we call it at least) and nothing ever happens there so I turn to BuckeyeFortFan and ask him about the high pitch squeak. Is that her real voice? He laughs at me. She's doing Minnie Mouse. Oh my, that voice is adorable on a 5ft mouse but annoying on a safari driver. I laugh and just then the kids squeal with delight. Oh my goodness the lion is standing up! And stretching. It's our lucky day. I have totally forgotten about our driver. We are on the other side of the rock now and he's still there. And his lady friend is just hanging out looking at him like he's crazy. I know the feeling. She's cool as a cucumber. As we drove away from Pride Rock, he roared at us. It was loud and sounded really scratchy. It was cool. We went from that amazing beast to this. This is the weirdest animal ever. Here's our driver. Her name is Kathy. She is nice and no that voice is not her real voice. We had a few minutes to kill before our ADR so we checked out the gift shop and played the drums. They are selling these hats everywhere. I'm not a fan of this new trend of Disney just selling clothes and accessories with no Disney anything on them. I want a scarf covered in hidden Mickey's or fake diamond Mickey shape on the side of my hat, especially at Disney prices. Enough lolli-gagging it's time for breakfast at our favorite breakfast buffet on property. TUSKER HOUSE! BFK2 snapped this pretty picture of the flowers while we waited to meet the big guy. Here's our photopass picture. This is the first trip that BFK4 is meeting some characters, not all. Donald even touched him! Hooray character meet and greets are not torture anymore for him. Not that we like to torture our kids but the other 3 enjoy them. I asked BFK4 if that was fun. His response was awesome. We are gonna get our money's worth today. These kids are starving! First up Daisy. The boys were quite happy here. But now here comes MICKEY. Check out BFK4, he's nervous. He gave him a hug, but I have too many kids and I couldn't get a picture of it, so here's the group shot. That was it! He's totally out of courage. This was a first for us. We typically get the 8am Tusker for the 9am opening so we are on rope for the Safari, but with it being Spring break and all these 7 and 8am openings those breakfast's only benefit is food. So we decided to enjoy it when we are starving at 10:20. And that's exactly what we did. We enjoyed it so much we totally forgot to take pictures for Dave. I'm sorry Dave. Well, now that we are fed and happy it's time to go to the bird show. Wow it got crowded quick. This is why we rope drop people! When you show up and the park looks like this it makes for a rough day. We braved the crowds through the tight walk to Asia because our favorite tour guide was making an appearance. Traditional picture of Hope. Up next some controversial fun for the BuckeyeFortKids.

GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
We love doing the late breakfast buffets as a brunch. I've never eated at Tusker House though. I had a lunch ADR for our July trip. Now you have me wondering if I should have done late breakfast. Can't wait to see the controversy!

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
We've never eaten at Tusker House either. Been wanting to try it, but David is a little wary of the menu. Breakfast would probably the safest meal for him.
Lou... 3,118
So there is a rope, and they do drop it.Those Disney Imagineers are good. What will they think of next?
BuckeyeFortMama 43
Great idea with the late lunch buffet.Controversial? I'm all in. It worked out great besides lunch at Tusker is not near as good as breakfast. We love doing the late breakfast buffets as a brunch. I've never eated at Tusker House though. I had a lunch ADR for our July trip. Now you have me wondering if I should have done late breakfast. Can't wait to see the controversy! Come on, it's Disney how controversial can it really be? I've never eaten at Tusker House. Not sure why. Oh my goodness, shut your mouth! This is so right up your alley. This buffet has all the best things from some of the other buffets and then some. The carved ham, mealy pap, cheese blintzs, and the best bread pudding on property! are just a few of the many reasons to check it out. We've never eaten at Tusker House either. Been wanting to try it, but David is a little wary of the menu. Breakfast would probably the safest meal for him. There are all the basics there too! Mickey waffles and scrambled eggs and endless strips of bacon! So there is a rope, and they do drop it.Those Disney Imagineers are good. What will they think of next? How do I respond to snarky Lou... ? Out of respect and admiration I will leave it at that. There is a rope and they drop it.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
There is a rope and they drop it. I have seen them roll or coil the rope, but never drop it. But, I do agree with you about the safari drivers. The joking around is not good. I miss the fake poachers and rubber elephant. TCD

BuckeyeFortMama 43
Animal Kingdom continued We had some FP's for PW because BFK3 NEEDS to ride this ride now that he is finally tall enough but we have some major time to kill before that. Which means we have time for some good old fashion fun. Now this might be controversial, but we love it. I know that some avoid this place, but why? It's an awesome playground and unlike Honey I Shrunk the Kids you can actually see your kids while they play without chasing them down every slide. Of course there is no need to worry about BFK4 because he doesn't move from here. I finally got him to go over to the Jeep.... until he heard the Dinosaur roaring which sent him back to play on his slide. I was a little suspicious that the roaring was coming from my brood. Yup, it's them. We played for good long time and even ran into a guy from our home town and his kids. It's a small world after all! BUT come on we owe BuckeyeFortKid #3 his ride from this morning. Now BuckeyeFortKid #2 has never rode because she is a scaredy cat but she is riding today! And this Mama got some great pictures. From left to right BFF, BFK2, BFK3, and then BFK4 Three happy and one a little scared. Off comes BFK3 first. He had a ball, but what about his sister? Settle down Mama she's fine. She even felt like taking a little Dino-cruise. I don't know how we got roped into doing the passport thing Kids Discovery Club at the AK-like the Kidcot NOT SO fun stops. This woman was teaching them about the monkeys that hang out in Asia and she was a little perturbed that my kids actually remembered everything she taught them last October when we met her at the treehouse the monkeys actually live in. They are holding their passports. BuckeyeFortFan couldn't take it anymore. He needed ice cream. It's hard to tell but this is the longest line we waited the entire trip. I think there were 30 people waiting for ice cream. BFK4 had a sore throat and we were all starting to fade so we stuck it out to get our treat and then headed back. Here's the Magic Kingdom gates at 2:45 on March 25. A welcome sight. Not too busy here either on the Monday before Easter. It's NAP TIME. The boys sleeping is normal. This is not. Cleaning up storm damage on the main road. Naps for the boys didn't last long. Have I mentioned how much I love Little Bear? You can see BFK2 on the other side of the loop and BFK3 on this side all in the same shot. Look at this camper across the way. Now that the winds are gone, it's time to get Brutus up and IDENTIFY ourselves. Here's my Christmas present. We drew some attention from the boy on the loop. Yup, lots of kids on the loop but only 1 other boy to appreciate the blow up. About now there's a commotion happening across the loop with camper and tent that has a million teenage and young adult girls, one old guy and the one little boy. Some of those girls and ladies are in the background of the picture above. 3 castmembers. What is going on? It turned out they had a missing dog. Oh well, so much for the excitement on loop. Supper time. Nothing beats a steak. A little looping and then bed. We found a crazy number of teens in Cottontail Curl. Did I mention I love Little Bear? With our oldest not feeling well, we decide to try sleeping in tomorrow. It doesn't work out well. Stay tuned for more.
