Albatross, that makes more sense then a seagull.  Pretty cool that both mice were meet and greet characters.  I would have liked to meet them.

Being under the water would have been so awesome.  Wish they still had that one.

Those subs stunk. Literally. BO. Really bad.

Let's head to the ole fashioned swimmin hole, shall we?   We start out with a classic Disney relic of the past:       I should stop right here and pick it up later.   Those pics deserve their own up

He's moving even slower than brown paint guy ...

And here we go:                       Do you remember this character experience?     Moving on in Future World:                         Was that a Commodore 64?   How about robot

Time for a quick update.

I am interested to see how many of you remember this next attraction.

It was a stage show tucked back behind Dumbo and to the left of 20,000 Leagues I believe.

Someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong.

And here we go!

What do you think of those?

I believe the place was called "Fantasy Faire."

If you look closely, there is a sign on the stage wall that would correspond with that name.....but it could be something slightly different.

There will be another cool treat in the next update which will likely be later this afternoon or early evening.

I totally remember that stage.

On one of our trips to the MK in the '70's, my family grabbed one of the tables there for lunch.

We were not aware that a show was going to begin.

We were amazed to see a stage rise from the ground, and on it were the Aristocats playing muscial instruments.

It was all a total surprise to us.

That was probably our first receipt of pixie dust.

If I remember right, they had a pretty good rotation of characters and skits on that stage.

I remember my first trip to Disney was in '83. All the characters were walking around everywhere, even the big guy himself.

No mobs around them. It was great back then in the '80s.

Can't wait to see more pictures.

Yeah it was pretty cool.

The new meet and greet areas have worked out well for us with our kids too.

I believe WDW probably wasn't near as busy back then but I could be wrong.

We took our kids on the skyway and also 20,000 leagues ... but not our grandchildren.  Thanks for bring back such great memories!

You're welcome Gwen!

These pictures are GOLD!

The word needs to get out about this thread....I bet there are WDW fans out there that would love to see these pictures.  Some of this stuff is rare.  Your Dad was unusual for the 70's in that he took so many pictures, and also that they are still in good condition 35 years later so you can scan them.

He did take a ton of pics.

The thing is.

This thread will only have the ones he made into slides.

But, he has a crap-ton more in the albums and flip files.

That will be a whole different project.

Hopefully this thread will be just enough to wet everyone's appetite for the mother load that may come later.

The skyway ride is so cool.  Even though you can see the tops of things, it doesn't lose any of the magic.

I agree.  I liked it also.

I wonder if someone can tell us if it was closed down because of maintenance costs, safety concerns?

Everything in this TR is cool!

Including you being here Gwen.
