BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
The Disney Food Blog has posted an article with a full review, pictures, menus, etc. for the 2013 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival...http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2013/03/06/full-review-2013-epcot-flower-and-garden-festival-food-pictures-booths-menus-and-prices/A few excerpts... THE COTTAGE: Savories, Trifles and Tea– United KingdomThe Biscuit and Salmon is a delicious dish! The tartare is fresh with lemon and dill, and the still-warm biscuit was a nice touch.Potato, Chive and Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with Smoked Salmon Tartare and Sour CreamThis salad offered very fresh and full-flavored tri-colored tomatoes!Waterkist Farms Heirloom Tomatoes with house-made Mozzarella, Minus 8 Vinegar and BasilThe trifles are available individually, or as a trio as seen here. Each offers about two bites, and our favorite was the green tea!Trio of Trifles -- chocolate, berry, and ginger tea BAUERNMARKT: Farmer’s Market– Adjacent to GermanyThe Bread Pudding is chock full of mushrooms. It’s like stroganoff without the meat!Savory Bread Pudding with Spring Peas and Wild Mushroom Ragout FLORIDA FRESH– World Showcase Promenade, Mexico sideThe Watermelon Salad is getting rave reviews from guests. A hearty portion of fresh ingredients really makes this dish.Watermelon Salad with pickled red onions, baby arugula, feta cheese, and balsamic reductionThe Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits offers three big, spicy shrimp and lots of sausage and sauce. It’s delicious when paired with the Tomato Wine.Shrimp and Stone Ground Grits with Andouille Sausage, Zellwood Corn, Tomatoes, and Cilantro JARDIN DE FIESTAS- MexicoA rich, creamy, spicy crab tostada is also on the menu. The topping here is cold and offers a nice contrast with the shell.Crab tostada served with chipotle mayo and Valentina SalsaTequila Flight: Tequila Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo PRIMAVERA KITCHEN– ItalyThe lasagna is beatiful, but a bit bland. The spinach pasta looks homemade, and there are plenty of chunky veggies! Just needs a little salt…Lasagna Primavera (Spinach Lasagna, green peas, zucchini, mushrooms, broccolini, béchamel and fresh tomatoes, with garlic and basil leaves)This Asparagus is a winner! Big chunks of lobster and a creamy mayo sauce with onions and shallots — possibly horseradish. It’s a cold dish, so be prepared for that.Asparagi con Aragosta all’Ortolana (Green asparagus, lobster, garden cocktail sauce) THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews– The American Adventure CourtyardThe Smokehouse Slider is huge — definitely not a small portion, and I’d put it between a regular slider and a large sandwich in size. It’s delicious, with a nice, vinegary slaw.Pulled Pig Slider with Cole SlawWe loved this brisket, which had a good fat-to-meat ratio. The cornbread was hot and sweet with that little kick of spice from the jalepeno. A good choice!Smoked Beef Brisket with Collard Greens and Jalapeño Corn BreadRocky Road Brownie Mousse inside HANAMI– JapanThe Frushi was highly anticipated and is lots of fun — especially for kids. Note the types of fruits to be sure you’ll enjoy. This is a sweet, dessert sushi, basically.Frushi (Fresh strawberries, pineapple and cantaloupe rolled with coconut rice, atop a raspberry sauce sprinkled with toasted coconut and whipped cream)The Chirashi Hanazushi is ideal for folks who like cold seafood dishes. The sauce is the winner here for us.Chirashi Hanazushi (Grilled Salmon, cooked shrimp and crab stick served over a bed of fragrant ginger rice with Volcano and Dynamite sauce) TASTE OF MARRAKESH– MoroccoThe Chicken Drummettes here are spicy — almost like curry! The salad alongside is a bit boring — just cucumbers and cabbage mostly, with a crunchy texture.Harissa and Lamb Confit Chicken Drumettes with Chermoula and Cucumber SaladThe lamb dish is an interesting combo of warm meat and cold couscous! The couscous had a sweet spice taste. Very good!Spiced Lamb Kebab with Vegetable Couscous Salad L’ORANGERIE– FranceThis tarte has a light, flaky texture and a yummy fresh flavor.Tarte a la ratatouille et fromage de chevre -- zucchini, eggplant, bell pepper, onion, and tomato tart with goat cheese

Some of that stuff looks YUMMY!!!The addition of food and drinks is genius on Disney's part. The Flower and Garden show was not something that we wanted to visit multiple times. It was just a one day thing, and we were good. With all of the food and drinks, they will have more repeat business. And make money to boot.Genius.TCD

Lou... 3,118
So I'm wondering if folks are actually gonna pay attention to the flowers this year. There are flowers there? The Flower and Garden show was not something that we wanted to visit multiple times. It was just a one day thing, and we were good.Ditto, for the last five years, we've gone mainly for the concerts, but I've seen most of the acts before and there are just a couple this year that I might go see. CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Wow! This will be the first time since 2010 that we won't be there for F&G. Last fall was our first visit to F&W, which I loved. But this is even better! It's like F&G/F&W rolled into one!
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I know people in low places. How about "high" places - like Southwest airlines? 'cause the cost of flying from Manchester to Orlando is my only real stumbling block right now.
