mommy rainbo.....Bo 41
Its Saturday December 8th a day that will live in infamy, but more about that later. The plan for today is Epcot in the morning and Hollywood studios in the evening for Osborne light show. Us girls slept in til almost 9am(-G- is an up early go to bed early kinda guy, not us girls), ate breakfast then we were off to Epcot. We took the bus, our wait for a bus was about 22 minutes. Twice an Epcot bus pulled in but changed the sign to somewhere else before pulling up…The bus was packed again with Lodge people. So we had to stand, again. –J- handled it well. It was crowded at the useless bag check. I picked the wrong line again and it took 20 minutes to get thru it. It was hot and I forgot sun block, So the first stop was for sun block & power aid. It was hot that day about 80 degrees. We went to the land and rode Living with the land a -G- favorite and we watched a circle of life. Soaring was at 75 minutes with the cast member saying it was correct so we skipped it. We walked over to Countries. It was almost 11:30 and –G- got a margarita, which he shared. We were at Germany and Snow White was to be out soon. –J- and I got in line we were about 8 back, not to bad. She arrived, and the line moved quickly. It was 12:30 or a little later and we were hungry. Nine Dragons at China was a family favorite. I had Chinese Chicken Salad. It was very good and fresh.-G- had Nine Dragons fried Rice. He said it was very good.-J- had the kids meal noodles with meatballs. It was basic and good. –J- did like the noodles. The meatballs not so much.We had ice cream for dessertOne Carmel-Ginger and One Strawberry red bean. The strawberry was excellent the Carmel Ginger…different, definitely different. We strolled around China looking for Mulan. She must have had the day off. No hide or hair of her. Dang, I wanted to be done with the Epcot Princess hunt.We were just walking along the countries and I noticed a Photographer with a line waiting for Jasmine and Aladin. I asked how long til they come out and was told a few minutes. Awesome. In line we went and we were about 4 back. I want to say –J- didn’t want to meet Aladin, in fact she didn’t want him signing her autograph book. I said don’t be mean & we will see. Aladin was incredible. He took so much time with her. He really drew her in. She asked him where Abu was and he took it from there. Saying Abu was around her somewhere and had her looking for him. He asked about Pascal who was on her skirt and said that he and Jasmine play hide and seek with Pascal all the time. Jasmine has the smallest waist I have ever seen…Sorry for so many pictures. They had spent so much time with here I took a ton.It is getting close to 3pm so we start working our way to the entrance. We rode Space mountain again. We walk out to catch the bus. Awesome, there is a bus there. We run over and climb on. OK. He waits a few minutes. Then a few minutes more….and a few minutes more. UGH>>>shift change. Not so awesome. The bus only had a few people on it and we get to the lodge quickly and then over to the Fort. –G- decided he wanted a nap and –J- had been begging my to go to the playground, I said sure.Bad, bad move Mommy, bad move.-J- and I drop –G- at the cabin and we were off for some playtime. I found the back entrance to the playground near the pool. I parked near the movie lot. Within minutes she found another little girl to play with and they were playing hide and seek. I sat on a bench to get caught up on my emails. After about 15 minutes the little girl had to leave. –J- didn’t want to leave yet so I let her play on the playground equipment. I walked over near the pool to send –G- a picture and a note saying we would want to try this tomorrow maybe. I hear –J- say “Mommy!” She had swung out on the monkey bars. I started to run back to her and she swung herself back to the platform. I said “don’t do that, if you want to go across I will help you” she said “I can do it, I got myself back” and swings back out. I am still walking to her about 10 ft away. Her hands start to slip, I start to run, she falls and lands on her side. She looks at me and starts to scream. I check her quickly see her elbow is a mess. (before I had –J- I was a paid EMT) I pick her up and run over to the pool screaming I need help! The lifeguard immediately blows her whistle and calls for medical help. A great kid named Forest from Maine helps me stabilize her arm. They call for an Ambulance. I text –G- we are hurt and to come to the pool behind the store. A truck arrives. I think it is the ambulance. NO! I got a fire truck with a medic on it. Reedy Creek fail. They decide that it might be an open fracture. They take my information, which I had also given to another DISNEY employee. –G- arrives. Fire truck medic makes a splint. SLOWLY. They move so slowly. They explain that they are the fire truck and are waiting on the ambulance. Where the frig is it… It took forever for the Boo-boo bus to get on scene. Then it seemed forever before they were ready to scoop her up and go. There is a discussion where they are taking her. They say closest is Celebration hospital. I said closest Children’s hospital, They said ok. That is Arnold Palmer. It takes a few rounds to get that finalized. No hurry in these guys. We know what we are doing, its –G’s and our jobs. We have been talking with fire truck guys and I talk to the emt in the back as we are getting in that Dad is following the ambulance. They proceed to go out the back way and not pick up –G-. He is blowing my phone up where the ….are you. I can’t see out the back of the ambulance. I finally after reminding the emt that –G- is waiting for us at the 4 way stop (that the fire men picked out). He goes up and checks with the driver we had to swing around and pick him back up in the front of the fort(he wasn’t told). We finally get to the hospital. . I find out that both of the ambulances were at the hospital and we had to wait for them to clear before they could come and get us.From time of accident to hosp is OVER AN HOUR. Unacceptable.Arnold Palmer Hospital was WONDERFUL!!!!!! Absolutely wonderful. My choice should you every need it. We find out it is just Dislocated but severely. They quickly, efficiently and professionally treated her, set and cast her arm. We were out within 3 ½ hours even with the surgical setting of her arm. They didn’t rush us, they were just that good.We can’t find an open pharmacy. We just head out to the cabin. We get back to the Fort at almost 10. We had not eaten. –G- drops me at the meadow trading post so I can get the golf cart. I swung up to the trails end to see if I can get anything to eat. I run into the mass exodus from the fireworks and EWP. The guy directing traffic lets me across. I park in the GC parking near the bus stop and run up. They are closed per the Cast member at the cashier. I told him what happened an he went and got me 3 boxes that I was able to fill before they broke down the buffet. Thank you un-named cast member.I get back to the Cabin. –J- is asleep when I get back, -G- and I eat and we crash. Dr said what they gave her should last her thru the night for pain.-J- has a few nightmares during the night but over is ok.Sunday was a day of rest. We didn’t go anywhere but to dinner in Orlando at Fogo de Ciao. We had made reservation months ago. That was awesome. Side note. We couldn’t find a pharmacy. We didn’t know where to go except back to Orlando, which we did Sunday night. –J- kept saying she wasn’t in pain and the Children’s Advil was working fine. So I wasn’t worried about it during the day, by the end of the night I was pissed. How hard is it to find a pharmacy that is a pharmacy. The Walgreens we kept finding were just stores not pharmacies so we still couldn’t fill her script. But they are listed as pharmacies in the GPS. Fail Walgreens. She didn’t need it but I would have liked to have it incase.Disney did not contact us about her fall.

momof3kids-Yvonne 596
Absolutely loving all of J's pictures with the princesses. Love the twirling!!!I like how Aladdin was so interactive with her.Good call on stating you wanted to have her go to the closest children's hospital. I would have never thought to do that. I am going to remember that if I ever am in a situation where we would need it. Hopefully won't be an issue though.

I would highly recommend Arnold Palmer hospital. They were just fantastic. If it is trama also remember to ask for a pediatric Trama hospital.
momof3kids-Yvonne 596
I have heard nothing but wonderful reviews about Arnold Palmer hospital. Thank you for the tip to about asking for a pediatric trauma hospital if a child is in a trauma. When put in that situation one might not think to ask that.
SCTigerCock 171
Damn sorry to hear that about J!I'm surprised the front desk wasn't able to point you toward a 24 hour pharmacy. I know when my mom fell at the Allstars and had to have a ambulance called, they took care of everything.

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Hmmm, weird on the pharmacy. Every Walgreens I've been to in the Disney area had a pharmacy in the back. (I've been to at least 5 cause I was looking for those Disney decorations that they carry).
mommy rainbo.....Bo 41
Hmmm, weird on the pharmacy. Every Walgreens I've been to in the Disney area had a pharmacy in the back. (I've been to at least 5 cause I was looking for those Disney decorations that they carry). The Walgreens non pharmacy was in Orlando on international drive. It was really strange. It had only Walgreens on the building but above the entrance was the morter and pestal decal. I went inside and no pharmacy. I don't know why.We ended up back in Orlando on Monday. We found the one near the Hospital that had what we were looking for. I had also stopped at a tiny scripts pharmacy before the hospital, and they didn't carry what we needed in stock either... Weird. It was a basic codine in suspension formula. We never thought to ask at the check-in to see if anyone knew where one was close to Disney. This was only our second time driving in the area and with our GPS issues we were not venturing far, hubby was not having a good driving trip. I know our fault. We were blessed in that she didn't need the Rx.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I just got caught up with all your latest updates. You are doing a great job.So sorry that you daughter was injured! In the future, should you ever need directions to anywhere from the Fort, the concierge desk in trhe Reception Outpost has a notebook with directions to just about anyplace you may want to go. There is a Walgreens pharmacy less than 3 miles from the Fort entrance.Your experiences with the inflated wait times at the MK are interesting. I have noticed this more and more lately. I think for some reason, which I can't figure out, they are intentionally posting very inflated wait times.TCD
stefa70 205
Awww, poor J! Thank God it wasn't worse, but what a bummer. :heartsmiley:There's NOTHING worse than seeing your children hurt. Hope the rest is the trip is better, though she sounds like she was being a real trooper about her injury.

mommy rainbo.....Bo 41
We spent Sunday resting. I went and did laundry, and messaged with Doodle and TNbob. Thank you both, for your ear. I was having a rough day and needed to talk it out with someone other they –G-. You both Rock!!While I was out and about with the GC I stopped up at the pool to take a few pictures. Scene of the crime thing. lolI was amazed to see TNBob's dock. I had been looking for it but in all the wrong places. lol. Matching up places and pictures from other TR when you are new to the Fort is like a scavanger hunt. You never know what you will find where.HEY, Bob someone was on your dock. She was small and cute so I let it slide. Also no alligators noticed and the bubbler was on.I also noticed that the other playgrounds have the poured rubber under them, but not at the pool playground. That one had mulch at one time but was just dirt where –J- fell. So have your kids play at the other playgrounds. I did bring this to the attention of the manager when I checked out. Why do 2 of the 3 playgrounds have different surfaces under them? She was not aware of that.
mommy rainbo.....Bo 41
Monday morning we had reservations at Akershus with Belle. We were going to Epcot again. We went up and caught the bus. This time we were able to get seats and the bus was only half full, I think because Epcot wasn’t open yet. We ended up running about 15 minutes late. I picked the slow bag check lane again. The plan was for –G- to take our cards and go over to Soaring to get fast passes for when we were done with the breakfast. (Yeah, I was finally going to get to ride Soaring since we missed it last time we were here in 2006)We quickly walked over to Norway and checked in. We were rushed right inside. –J- had her picture take with….ah, um not a young Belle, She was a very pretty/lovely lady, but a lady she was. –G- showed up but with NO fastpasses. He said they were already at 1:30 and we had to leave then to go get –J- checked but the pediatric orthopedic specialist. BOO…We were then seated. Our server came over and took our drink order and gave us the scoop on how things worked. It was a partial buffet with scrambled eggs, Bacon and sausage with home fries brought on a platter to the table. We went up to the buffet. It had pastries, cheese, fruit and some yogurt. The platter of egg and meats was only a few minutes behind us sitting back down. The food was really good and this meal seemed a little more basic and relaxed then other meals we did. Glad we did it but will not do again for a few years.-J’s--G’s-MineBad picture but we were happy with the meal. The Princesses came out and visited with everyone. We had Aurora, Snow white, Arielle and Cinderella.-J- waiting on them coming over to the table. Then music would start and the kids go to the nearest princess for a parade thru the restaurant. This happened twice while we where there and we didn’t stay very long.Cinderella was really sweet with –J-.Waving goodbyeI asked –J- to let me know when she was ready to go and surprisingly she said she wanted to leave right then. I think even she was getting princessed out with seeing the same girls over and over. She was happy about it though. We had reservations at a private AAA storytime at 11:30. So we wondered over to find it. I believe it was at innovations west. We found it after some miss direction but it was great. Our special reader was Mary Poppins. She was an excellent Mary Poppins. You are told when you go in that you can get up and move around to take pictures. That was awesome. At the end Mary gets up and leads the kids around the room in a parade(and this sets them up for private pictures). She took time with each child, taking pictures signing there books and a bookmark. We finished up there and had plenty of time before we left, so we went for a Mickey head ice cream. On the way there I saw an official looking cast member with a name tag, dress shirt with tie and a walkie talkie type phone talking to another cast member. I strolled up and asked him if he knows if Mulan was going to be in China today since we missed her the last few times we where here(She is a surprising favorite of my daughters). He said hold on a I will ask. He called someone and they said she is just coming out now. I said Thank you so much and off we went back to the Countries. It was so cute. Mulan was at the top of the stairs in the garden area with only cast members around her. –J- hopped out of the stroller and slowly started walking to her. Two steps then look back at me smiling, two more steps. Mulan saw her and started walking down to her. ( I don’t know if the guy we talked to said we were coming, either way it was precious). Mulan took her hand and started talking to her walking her over to the picture spot. Mulan did say to me that –J- was a brave warrior and when she got her cast off that she and Mulan would go to warrior school together. It made our day. –J- wanted a Parasol from the China pavilion so we got her one and the worker put her name on it in Chinese. Sweet.–G- had been trailing along all this time, getting a beer while we were busy.He reminded me we need to start working our way out of Epcot.
