I will give one spoiler alert here. This video shows the coolest thing you will see in this attraction. So, if you want to be surprised when you visit, do not look. As the castmember gives her spiel,

You would have to pay me a lot more than $150 to put a picture of Scott Hamilton on my wall.

"Pete's Dragon" is one of my favorites and you should see it if you consider yourself a fan of Disney. It had an Oscar nominated original song and I feel it was a bright spot from Disney during a dec

What are you tryin to say???

You're the one showing everyone your box.......

:rofl2: Touche`

What? ?????

She didn't show me.

TCD

On the contrary. You were one of the first ones to see it. In fact, Trevor personally escorted you inside to see it. ^-^

I suspect that all the drawing classes come with an end game in mind;

We have a Fiend who operates a motor coach for the mouse

We recently added a Mouse Photog to the Fiend legions

Next up, the Fiend purveyor of great TRs becomes an artistic scribe within the walls of Disney.

Btw, I noticed the garage door pic that also confused me in the "where in the world" thread. :)

Congrats to Twin #1 for finally being the rebel spy! Y'all are getting pretty good at drawing, must be a good class.

Congratulations on making it first on page 2. That's pretty good.

I don't think I am getting better at drawing. But, I did find out that I'm pretty good at drawing frogs.

We have not seen the suites so cannot say much about them, but the single rooms are just like the ones found at the other values.

I do agree the pool is one of the better ones on property. The underwater speakers are cool and the fact that its salt water.

Im sure youve seen her box before.....

I didn't know that pool was salt water. That is interesting. I don't know of any other WDW resort pools that are salt water. I wonder if this is going to be a change of direction for them.

Now that I read Stef's post below, I do remember Trevor showing me Stef's box. How could I have forgotten that?

Always ready for a TCD report.

Good to know. Thanks for reading.

I'm here! Better late than never!

I'm in also helps get ready for our trip next week!!

Better late than never for me too!

Me three!

Now there's a group!

Thanks for joining in, all.

Didn't make it on page 1 (I hate that working thing) but at least I am reading again and I beat DAVE!!!

Congrats to twin #1 and your drawing skills have improved mightily I must say.

Indeed you did!

Thanks for the compliment on my drawing skills. But, I really don't think that there has been much improvement.

On the contrary. You were one of the first ones to see it. In fact, Trevor personally escorted you inside to see it. ^-^

Oh yeah! How could I have forgotten that? I guess I was thinking of a cardboard box. Or a music box. Not the shadow box that Trevor showed me. Which, by the way, was very nice.

Nope. I am not going to make a living off of drawing. That's for sure.

You are right- that garage door from RNRC was used in the "Where in the World thread." There are a couple more photos that will be coming up which were also used on that thread.

Finally made it!!! :jumpforjoy

By the way, Between you and Stef, I at least was able to tell Tony why the dog park had that huge berm (Fort RR bed) in it... :rofl3:

He just shook his head and stopped asking questions after I knew.... :rofl2: :flush2:

We left off with the TCD gang riding the highway in the sky to the MK.

We arrived just in time to see the Avenger rail:

289.jpg

Today it was on the express rail. But, it is often on the resort rail.

It's pretty cool.

That movie did pretty well.

You can't see it, but they repainted part of it to announce that the release dates for the DVD/Blue Ray version.

More dollars for Disney!

It wasn't too busy at the entrance.

The twins spotted this shirt, and announced that they loved it. In case you can't make it out, it says "Keep Calm There is Still One Prince Left." Funny:

292.jpg

I guess that girl bought her shirt last year.

Before the photos of the last prince's bum were plastered all over the place.

Those Royals!

None of the waits were bad for the rides.

So, we enjoyed the Haunted Mansion.

I snapped this photo from the entrance to the queue:

293.jpg

This one stumped a few folks on the "Where in the World" photo thread.

It looks like that fire hydant has been there for ever, but I never noticed it before. It's weird how many small details there are all around WDW, and how you can walk right by and never notice them.

After HM, it was time for BTMRR. We haven't been on it much since the big refurbishment earlier this year. I guess the track is smoother, and things are cleaner, but it's hard to detect any change. The queue was reconfigured, and there are mysterious big wooden boxes in the queue that appear to have no purpose. It has since been announced that they are installing some interactive elements in the queue. That must be what the wooden boxes are for. This ride is still one of our favorites:

299.jpg

We decided to watch Wishes and the Main Street Electrical Parade, so we headed to Main Street to claim our spot.

There's a lady in the center of this photo recording the fireworks with her ipad. This is a more and more common sight. I think it's rude to hold a big thing like that up in a crowd:

300.jpg

Look at all the glowing screens in this photo:

301.jpg

I'll share two fireworks photos. Too many fireworks photos are bad. Two is a good number:

302.jpg

305.jpg

I mentioned before that the TCD twins took a trip to WDW in June with a group from school to attend a national conference.

They got to go to the parks with their friends, and had a great time.

One thing they did with their friends, which we never do, is sit and watch parades on Main Street.

I have always been against claiming a spot on the curb an hour before the parade. If anything, we would usually just find a spot to stand in Frontierland, behind folks sitting on the ground.

Well, it turns out the girls really enjoy watching parades.

I didn't know that.

Parades have always been an afterthought on our trips. Not a priority.

Well, tonight, we had a spot right on the curb.

It was kind of fun.

And, you can really see the parade.

I have a few photos to share.

Like this one of the Tinkerbell float:

309.jpg

And Goofy driving a train:

310.jpg

Check out the Hidden Mickey on the train:

311.jpg

Couldn't see it?

How about now?:

312.jpg

313.jpg

I love this big sign announcing the name of the parade:

314.jpg

This caterpillar smoking a hookah has always bothered me. What are kids supposed to think about this? :

317.jpg

318.jpg

I don't remember when they first showed up, but it hasn't been that long since Cinderella's step sisters and step-mother have become fixtures at the MK. They are pretty funny, and popular:

321.jpg

I always like this Mr. Smee float:

325.jpg

There was something strange going on during the Snow White part of the parade.

Dopey was there:

326.jpg

327.jpg

And so were the rest of the dwarfs. But Snow White was missing. She is usually in the parade with a light up dress. But she was missing tonight.

And, you want to know something else strange?

Dave In Tennessee usually comments on TCD trip reports.

But, where is he?

Are these things connected?

Let's finish up with the parade.

The boy on the dragon is about as odd as that caterpillar:

331.jpg

333.jpg

I would venture to guess that 90% of the people watching the parade have never seen the movie Pete's Dragon. And, I'm among them.

While there are some odd floats in the parade, I do love the salute to America at the end. Patriotism is one thing that I would love to see more of around WDW:

336.jpg

337.jpg

That was the end of the parade.

And, the MK was now closed.

So we had to leave.

We got a treat on the way out:

339.jpg

Who could possibly have a problem with that?

USA!

From there, it was back to our car, and we hit the road back home.

Thus concludes the first Saturday visit in September.

Remember, I wasn't going to post a trip report for that visit, as all in all, it was rather uneventful.

Except for Twin #1 being the Rebel Spy.

And that Napoleon.

And the rumor that Dave In Tennessee has run off with Snow White.

But, now that we are past that, we can move on to the next Saturday.

And we will do just that in the next update.

I thought the hidden mickey was the three circles on the front of the train.

You know the thing about scoping a spot on the curb. I have found that if you are doing commando style, we only have one day at the park, we have been here since EMH, we don't have park hoppers or APs, we have two small kids and everyone is tired but we want to see the fireworks that curb looks real inviting about an hour before the parade..... (so glad I talked DH into those AP's this time)

I'm with you on the parades. The last time we staked a spot early was last Christmas. We got some hot chocolate, watched the parade, and the castle lighting. It was kind of a nice change. It was also chilly temps, which makes a huge difference in being crammed in tight quarters with thousands of other people.

I will post about seeing you guys in my report, but it looks like it will be awhile before I get that far. I just wanted to say your girls are two of the sweetest, warmest & most bubbly young people I've ever met. I'm sure they think I'm some crazy old lady, but they fake it so well! :)) You have every right to be proud of those two.

Glad to have you along for the ride, Genia.

Good job on recognizing the old rail bed.

You are a real Fiend now.

You have met TCD and everything!

BTW- it was nice to meet you and Tony.

OK, that can be a Hidden Mickey too. Lou doesn't read trip reports, so we don't need to worry about him coming along and telling us it isn't.

I seriously had never claimed a spot on the curb- we usualy use parade time to hit some of the popular attractions- but you are right, it is super relaxing to sit and watch everyone pass by.

Thanks, Stef. That is nice to hear.

The girls do not think you are a crazy old lady. Heck, you are the third twin!

I am proud of all three of my daughters. The oldest is really doing well in college, and the twins are just now submitting their college applications. They have accomplished a lot already. Twin #1 is the Photo Editor of the school yearbook. Twin #2 is Editor in Chief of the school newspaper. And, they attend a big public school here in our county, so both positions are a pretty big deal. These girls are going to go places. But, the most important thing for me to hear is that they are nice young ladies, and that they are happy.

This report will, of course, finish up with our vist to your site on Saturday night. It was great to see you and to meet some Fiends in person for the first time.

We all left that little meeting agreeing that the Fiends are the nicest bunch or people you can ever meet.

TCD,

I really HATE to agree with Stef on anything, but she is spot on regarding the twins. They were the nicest, most respectful, insightful two young ladies I have met in quite a while. They have their heads on strait and are doing so well with planning their futures. You and Mrs. TCD should be VERY proud of what you accomplished. I wish both of them success in college and beyond!

Heck, impressed enough to use spell check on this post.

I saw both Mickeys, too!

What does whether or not you are wearing any undies have to do with watching parades?

heeheehee!

I'm late, but I'm here! Being on the first page is highly overated - or at least that's what I tell myself. :gaah:

WTG Twin #1 :jumpforjoy and congrats to all 3 of the TCD girls on their accomplishments! :yourock:

If you listen to what that boy (is he a boy IRL? just like Tink & Peter Pan, this is one I always have to look at twice) on the dragon is saying you might think he's much odder than the caterpillar. maybe the caterpillar is asking "whooo are youuu" b/c he wondered about that odd dragon boy too. In any case, the hippie caterpillar has a hooka and, as such, an excuse. I've seen the movie and still haven't a clue what Pete's excuse is...

well if you are going commando while wearing a mini-skirt and sitting on a curb you might be showing a little too much

:holysheep: so that's what the rebel stands for!
