2012 Food and WineFestival

Recommended Posts

We ventured to the Cast Preview of the 2012 Food and Wine Festival. This is one of those events we attend every year, but this is the first Cast Preview we have been able to attend.

The crowds were lower, but there were still allot of people. I attest this to the internet. Word gets around quick and this event is quickly becoming common place and people plan trips expecting it now. But nothing is guaranteed and a few booths were closed and some of the food items were not available. So its not the full experience.

We started out arriving at 1400....or 2pm (I gotta get out of that military time mindset).

The displays were up. I noticed the theme for this year. "Taste your Way Around the World." Disney is cashing in on the theme of so many guests to EPCOT. Drink your way around the world, eat your way around the world, shop your way around the world....you get the idea. Didnt need to put much imagination into that.

We head straight to World Showcase and begin our "trip". We had starved ourselves all day to prepare for this and was starving.

The first booth up was:

This was a new vegan booth. Nothing against vegans, but nothing seemed appealing to us, even after fasting all day.

Judge for yourself......

We had the Jerk chicken. We get one serving and share. This tactic helps us make it all the way around the world without exploding. We also pace ourselves, taking time to eat and relax at each destination rather than eat and run. Today we didnt have the normal full day to enjoy things. The preview was only from 2 to 8. Six hours to visit 29 locations.

Sorry, I forgot to get a picture of the chicken. Remember, I was famished at this point and nearly ate one of my fingers while devouring it.

The portion was small, for the cost, and you get one drum-let. The chicken was good though.
