Ghester 0
I just thought I would throw this out there... What is your favorite loop to stay in at Fort Wilderness Campground? I know everyone has a different favorite so give your reasons for why you pick that loop as your favorite. We are purchasing Annual Passes in April and we are not sure how to pick a loop. Thanks in advance
MicknMin...Holly 54
I like the back side of the 800 loop. It backs up to a little creek, and there is lots of green space behind the campsites. Most of the sites are fairly large, too. I also like the 900 loop, but 800 is the one I always request. johnnyb aka John 15
Any one that my TT is in!!! Man I wish we were going to be able to go anytime in the near future! :rofl2:
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
300 is our fave. In particular the sites about halfway through on the outside.Sites are spaced nicely because of the curve (sort of pie shaped), many of them either back up to the nice grassy dog walk along the canal or a very private hedge.Close to the dog walk, not far from the dog park, and a reasonable walk to the marina/Settlement. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Any site that I'm in!! However, we are really starting to like the Premium sites, in spite of the price.
TnBob 311
Any site that I'm in!! However, we are really starting to like the Premium sites, in spite of the price. We will turn you into a 600 looper yet!
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Not unless they put a comfort station in that loop!!!
TnBob 311
oh thats right, I'll get on it right away. :D
kampfirekim 260
We love 900, 1400 and also have discovered that 800 is very nice as well. Of course with the exception of 617 I'd be happy almost anywhere at the Fort. :rofl2:
BouncingTiggers 98
We love the 200 loop.
mrstnbob 39
We like the new area of the 600 loop during the fall and winter months. We are close to the meadows so Bob can fish off the dock. During the summer months we prefer the opposite end of the 600 loop where there are lots of shade trees. The 700 loop would be our second choice. We have stayed in the 1200 loop also and found the sites to be quite large.
Otter Spotter aka Debbie 58
I'm a 1700 looper first, and 1800 looper second. I love the spaciousness of the sites. When I'm in the mood to spring for a premium site, 1200 or 1300 loops are my favs. Before all the clearing out of the foliage, 1100 was hands down my favorite loop, and in particular site 1106. You could not see the cabins before the clear out & barely realized they were there. They ruined the 1100 loop for me.
Ghester 0
I love this thread! This is a big help for someone that has not been to Fort Wilderness yet. I love to read the different reasons people have for a favorite loop. When we come in April-May we are going to loop the whole campground.
Dreamin5 0
I've stayed in the 300 loop at the very beginning of the loop and loved it so much, a lot of room and close enough to the doggie park to walk over. I didn't like the walk to the marina, it was a bit far for my fat tail to walk..lolI've stayed in the 500 loop before it was premium and like the loop but didn't like how small my site was at that time. The next time we go I want to stay in the 400 loop because I hope it's the closest pet loop to the marina. My goal is to get as close to the marina as I can.
daddyphat808 - Eric 16
Any loop! But we really like the 300 and the 400 but I think our favorite was the 1400.
Sensei 18
Your favorite loop will depend on what you intend to camp in. All sites that I know will take a popup or tent, but if you have a fairly large TT, 5th Wheel or Coach, some loops don't work so well. I would like to stay in the 100 or 200 loops but can't get my coach in either very easily. 1600, 1800, 800, 700, will work if no one is parked directly across from your selected site. Makes it difficult to back in. I also like some of the sites in the 400 loop. The ones on the west side are better. Haven't stayed in any of the others, so can't comment on them. Sensei 18
I like the west side of 400 because it's easier for me to get into and I also watch all the loopers in their carts on the main road.

AuburnJen 777
1600 or 1700 for meIf Lar is in 1600, definitely not 1600.
DaveInTN 3,247
I like 500, especially the sites backing up to the canal. They are large sites (not all 500 sites are) and I can just stand at the back of my site and fish. Quick walk to the Settlement, not far from Meadows, has a nice Comfort Station......man, I wish I was there now.
canadianfockerfiend Trevor 1
1300 backed onto the river. We could see the tennis court and pool and watch the ducks swim by. It was nice and quiet.
Avatab.... Steve 124
We always try and get into the 3000 loop, but so far have only been able to look not camp. We do go looping thru there when we can talk our way past the security guard at the 3000 loop gate..... We particularly like the private hot tub sites. :banana:Mostly we just settle for the 900 loop. :) :) :) :) :) :)
