Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Now why would anyone do anything like th.......Ok, yeh I looked. There was nothing in there. I assumed it was an old trash can or something. But I didn't see anything in there. You needed to look deeper into the barrel. It's not a trash can. It was placed over a piece of concrete that I assume is a remnant of the old railroad crossing arm that used to be at the entrance to the 400 loop. I'm wanting to say the German pavilion at Epcot inside the restaurant. Hah! Strike one. Try again! And no clues for you-you should know this. TCD
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Canada Sorry, I missed that guess. Nope, not Canada. Devores needs to make another guess and then I'll start giving out clues. TCD
Santa ... Shannon 160
Snow White ride at MK
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Snow White ride at MK LOL. That photo was taken on 1/18/14. There is no Snow White ride at the MK. And, it's not at the site of the former Snow White ride either. But your guess is the closest to the correct location of any so far. TCD

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Gaston's Tavern Still wrong. Strike one for you. Woops. I retract my guess. I joined this party late. Sorry. Sorry, according to the Fort Fiends rule book, you can't retract a guess. You still have one strike. I guess old Devores isn't going to try again without a clue. OK-this is in the MK. It's not at or around Gaston's Tavern. And it's not in the location of the defunct Snow White ride. But, it's closer to the defunct Snow White ride than it is Gaston's Tavern. Santa ... Shannon 160
Nope, I've got it. Over the restrooms next to Columbia Harbor House.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Just cause it looks German: pinocchio village haus? It does look German. But, why does Pinocchio Village Haus have a German theme? The book was written by an Italian author and set in Italy. In any event, no. But you are moving in the right direction. Nope, I've got it. Over the restrooms next to Columbia Harbor House. You are very, very, very close, but not quite there. It is not above any restrooms. BTW those restrooms you're thinking of are closed. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Shows how much attention I paid as we blitzed through FL trying to get to HM on a MNSSHP nite! Come on, you're almost there! You passed by it if you walked through FL on the way to HM. That is, if it was there at the time. I'm not sure it's not new. I don't remember ever seeing it before. Is that inside the rapunzel bathrooms? And no I didn't wait for clues. Just been busy. Strike two. Santa was closer. TCD
devores 382
I know it's fantasy land because it has that feel. I've never seen that painting though. Could it be a part of the mine car ride?

Could it be a part of the mine car ride? And that is strike three for you! It must be new, because if it's been where it is, you and I have likely walked past it a hundred times. Last clue- then I'm going to post a photo showing it so you can see where it is; If you were to walk from Pinocchio Village Haus to the Rapunzel bathrooms, you will pass by it. It's outside and in the open. TCD
devores 382
That would put it at the Peter Pan ride.

You should have stopped at Peter Pan. It is on the wall above the queue: Which raises an important question. Why? You always say that Disney has a reason for everything. Why is there a portrait of a deer above the Peter Pan queue? Why not Phil Holmes? TCD
devores 382
Maybe that's Phil's animal spirit. That's why I didn't recognize it. That's brand new and I don't walk through there. It's too congested and is quicker to use the super secret cm paths.

It's a strange place for a portrait of a deer. Maybe that's just me, though. TCD
DaveInTN 3,247
As far as the deer painted on Pan....I think it is all part of the effort to tie "old" Fantasyland together with NF. The general theme of NF is one of a medieval European "fantasy forest" (except maybe Ariel....which should be carved out. Literally). From the upcoming Mine Train through the forest environment of Snow White, to the Beast's castle and Maurice's cottage, and all the way over to the Rapunzel tower, efforts were made to immerse the guest in that environment. Unfortunately, much of old Fantasyland had more of a circusy, tenty feel. I think they tried to pull it all together, so while the deer and tree motif on the outside of Pan might not make sense on a standalone basis, I think it does tie in aesthetically with everything else they've done.
