Katman1356...Jason 1,140
More of Mickey's HouseIn the back of the house you go into a studio area to meet Mickey.I had heard and seen pictures of Mickey dressed up as he is for the band concert and that if you asked and he was going to be available you could stand aside and they would bring you in at the appropriate time. The actualy have 3 separate Mickey's doing meet and greet which keeps the line moving. I managed to ask without Silvia seeing or hearing me do so. She was a little confused when we were asked to step aside and not sent in. When we were led in I was very disappointed. We got regular Mickey in his tux with the Band Concert background. I smiled anyway and Silvia loved the background. I explained to her after what I tried to do and she was grateful that I tried. Oh well maybe next time. A little more ToontownThe queue for Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.If you get queasy on Buzz Lightyear don't go near this thing. No matter how hard you try you can not control the spinning. It was cute but one ride was enough for us.Some more musicians playing for Mary and Bert.We did some other things that I don't seem to have pictures of and then it was time for the 3 o'clock parade. Funnily enough it was at 3 O'clock. I will write that one up in my next post through. It is going to be Soundsational.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
I was waaay behind, but just caught up!! Awesome updates!! And I agree, Tink's flight at DL is awesome!!!! Those wires enable her to fly back and forth around the castle!!! Much better than the hurtling down the wire at WDW!!!I didn't see Dumbo fly when I was there, but I bet that's cool too!! Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Very, very good Jason!Seeing all that stuff they have in Toontown just made me realize that I am going to miss Mickey and Minnies houses in the MK. While I appreciate the new Fantasyland expansion, it's a shame that those houses are gone.Your photos are showing me that I don't know squat about Disneyland. I knew there were some differences, but I didn't know how many attractions they have there that have no counterpart at WDW like the Pinnochio and Roger Rabit rides.I was waaay behind, but just caught up!! Awesome updates!! And I agree, Tink's flight at DL is awesome!!!! Those wires enable her to fly back and forth around the castle!!! Much better than the hurtling down the wire at WDW!!!I didn't see Dumbo fly when I was there, but I bet that's cool too!!You can see Dumbo fly on that (long) video Jason posted. It starts around 8 1/2 minutes in. It is very cool. I had never heard of this, or how Tinkerbell flies around at Disneyland.I agree- it is much better than that guy in the dress slamming into the matress that we have at WDW.TCD
stefa70 205
I've been so busy and I'm so far behind! More great updates and great pics. My favorite is you and Eeyeore. Is it just the pics or does DL seem more compact? Like, less big, open areas than DW?

That was part of the reason for so much land in FL. Room to expand and grow.
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
We are back and waiting for the Soundsational parade to come by. I had thoroughly checked out the parade route and which direction it would be running in. I even picked out the spot we would be watching from and would you believe it. We actually sat on a bench to watch a parade. Thats right a bench. They have them all over the place in Disneyland. They need to have more benches in Disney World.Anyway. We got to the post I had picked out. It was just to the right of the castle heading towards Fantasyland. We were maybe 30 minutes early and while sitting there we could smell this delicious aroma. I decided that anything that smelled that good we needed to try so I sent Sil over to the cart to get us our very first Disney Churro's. We are sold. These will forevermore be a standard on our trips. The parade started and it was phenomenal. The colors and floats and the music were all awesome. After the Soundsational Parade ended we headed over to the Haunted Mansion. To be continued
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
A couple more Haunted Mansion queue photosI cant remember specifics of what else we did that day but I do have one night time castle pic. I also have some videos from earlier in the day when we saw the band in front of the castle. To be continued once I load up day 2's photos
PureTcrazy...rita 380
I think I need to go to Disney Land! It seems more relaxed and like the characters are easier to see! Love the band videos!
stefa70 205
I definitely think they got short changed in the castle department, in comparison to DW, but their Haunted Mansion is awesome looking!!
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
I loved the plantation look of the haunted mansion there. I personally don't like the castle very much. It's to pink for me and way to short.

Katman1356...Jason 1,140
On to day 2. The next morning we slept in a little bit. We only made it there by 9. hehehe. We headed back to Disneyland to go check out some more of the rides. We were hoping to do the Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye but it was down. This was a common thing with this ride while we were there. The ride vehicle is the same as the on for Dinosaur in Animal Kingdom. One time after waiting through the line for 45 minutes we were probably 20 people away when they had some kind of power issue and the AC and lighting quit. We were on emergency lights for about 15-20 minutes before they fixed the regular lights ans escorted everyone out. We got a fastpass to return which we did use later so it all works out.Okay so no Indy this morning what to do..Jungle Cruise! This was very similar if not identical to Disney World's. After jungle cruise we cut through Frontierland to try and ride the Alice in Wonderland dark ride. This was down again as well though.Since those were out we decided to drive a spike through my skull....I mean check out It's a Small World.Small World was somewhat fun. It was neat to see Disney Characters made into small world style dolls and included in teh ride. They are not in your face and could almost be missed if you didn't know they were there. Also they have 1 additional room that Disney World doesn't. If you go there at Christmas time it get decorated for christmas as well. After Small World we headed for Tomorrowland. We wanted to catch a ride on the monorail here. On our way I saw someone walking around and shoved the camera into Silvia's hands saying she had to take a picture for me. Yeay!!We continued on to the monorail. They got new ones in the last 10 years that look retro. The monorail is much more of a ride than transportation here. It only has 2 stops. 1 in Tomorrowland and 1 in Downtown Disney. Since we were heading out of the park at this point to hop over it seemed this was the best time to ride it. They still let you ride in the front here since it's a 1 way circuit i believe so we asked and waited and we got to sit up in the front. You'll notice I didn't say ride in the front. While we were waiting something happened at the other station and they had to temporarily suspend service. We will pick this up in the plaza between the 2 parks. mgsmom 9
DL looks really very cool! I notice there are a lot of old-school-Disney-but-less-seen-at-WDW characters there and rides for them as well. I do like that. Even though DD loves it, I think sometimes WDW is a little too princess driven. I'm just sayin'Yay on the storm trooper! I love Star Wars too :heart:Can't wait for more! Thanks for continuing to post for us - I know it takes a lot of work!
