Heidi-meetsTCD@TSM 5
Very cool update!! I felt the same about Disneyland, so cool to see where Walt walked. You mentioned being next to the mall. (Was it Riverview) or something like that? I stayed at the Super 8 on Katella and was right next to that mall and some incredible restaurants.I think it is called Garden Walk......we walked to that last week to eat at the Cheesecake Factory......so many great restaurants to choose from. Heidi-meetsTCD@TSM 5
I think it is my favorite night time show. It kills me that it is that far away.We watched the show last week.....it was awesome. How did you two go about seeing it? We ended up buying the World of Color picnic that came with the Fast Pass seating. If only you could sit and watch it....As much as I loved the World of Color, my favorite nighttime show between WDW and DL is the Magical fireworks show. To see Tinkerbelle flying all around the castle (not the straight shot flight she does at WDW) was amazing, but what totally made that show my favorite was when Dumbo came flying out......I loved, loved, loved that part!!!! Katman1356...Jason 1,140
We left off right in front of the castle. Here Silvia is heading down towards the right of the castle towards Snow White's grotto. This is in the gift shop for Star Tours.Tea Cups!Photo Op!In the queue for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.Another photo op.From here we headed over to Pinochio's Daring JourneyCan anyone guess what meet and greet was being held here? Then we did the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough. It is a cute little trip up into the castle with stops that tell a little bit of the story.Sorry some of those are dark. Most are behind glass and werent showing up at all without the flash. We headed over to the original Tiki Room but a show had just started and we had breakfast reservations with a ton of charaters, and I don't mean Fiends. To be continued... We got there pretty early and found a spot right up by a railing so we looked out over the small section below and the water screens didn't get us. We were very close to dead center for it. I have a couple of pictures you will see later on.
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
Continuing on to breakfast at the Plaza Inn restaurant. This place had pretty good food. Buffet style very similar in offerings to Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's. The Characters are only here for breakfast which is known as Minnie and Friends Breakfast in the Park. They had a good amount of characters at this but what drew us were the ones we hadn't met yet. When my wife was younger her family used to come to Disney World every other year, but her Dad did it for the kids he had no real love for it. They would not have stood in line to meet a character or paid the money for a character meal so on our 1 year anniversary trip I booked Crystal Palace. She has been hooked ever since. Here are some pictures. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We ended up indoors. Our HostessShe loves this picture with Hook. She had no idea he was holding the hook to her throat. An interior shot Some food pictures of kitties for DaveRafiki!Geppetto getting a little to friendly with my wife.As we were leaving we ran into this guy.Which prompted Geppetto to run over and try and keep him away from Silvia. It was a nice breakfast with a lot of characters. The one difference is you get 1.5 hours. We didn't use all of that time so I don't know if we would have actually been asked to leave but that is how long your reserved breakfast is for. In the next installment we will head for Star Tours!

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Can anyone guess what meet and greet was being held here?Umm-I don't know.j/k that is pretty cool. There is a rumor that there will be a tower for Rapunzel in the area that is under construction next to the Haunted Mansion at WDW. I could see something like this fitting in there. You also got a weathervane in the photo, there at the top left. And, I have a question about that flying Dumbo- the way the thing moves, I would guess there is a small person inside the costume. Is that what is going on there?TCD

Is that what is going on there?TCDHmm........I never thought about a person being inside Dumbo.........your probably right.I have to say it is one of the coolest things, I have ever seen in a Disney park. I remember the first time I saw Dumbo when we went to DL three years ago. We were actually leaving the park during the fireworks (we were all beat, as we had driven down from Sequoia National Park that day, and just went into Disneyland for a few hours.......we planned to watch the fireworks another night.) When we got to the end of Main Street, I turned to look back at the castle before we left. Just as I glanced back Dumbo flew out.......I actually did a doubletake.........it was so neat!!! I don't remember a breeze, but maybe there was one, sending the water back our way. All I could think of as we watched was , "those people up front must be getting soaked" I am glad that wasnt the case for you.Looking forward to your pictures. I wasnt able to get any good ones. We take as many trips as we can even to the point of just going out for drives around New England on a day off. I am amazed that you were up next to the railing and didnt get wet!!!! We were in the middle section and we were getting wet there. I don't remember a breeze, but maybe there was one, sending the water back our way. Katman1356...Jason 1,140
Sorry for the delay. Let's continue on shall we. When last we left off we were heading for Star Tours. I will admit something right now. I am a huge Science Fiction fan. I like Star Wars, Star Trek and a whole slew of other sci-fi. One of the funniest coincidences i have had in my life is when my wife and I were looking for a dog, Silvia's first dog ever, and we found this great cocker spaniel who needed a lot of work with trusting people and other dogs. His current owner needed to find a new home for him because her other 2 cockers were ganging up on him and would not let him eat. We went to meet him and when she told us his name we were sold. His name is Jedi. After many years of hard work he is a great dog and Silvia is now a dog lover. Sorry for hijacking my own thread but what i was getting at was that I was excited to ride the new Star Tours. I love it. to the point that later in our trip we had an early morning entry and I rode it 11 times in a row trying to get as many combinations as possible. Ok enough blabbing, Bob is probably already nodding off. Here are some pics.Star Tours queueAfter coming out of Star Tours we had stopped just off the hub next to the Plaza Inn using the facilities and figuring out our next step when a whole bunch of characters came walking past heading to the backstage area. I took a look at the times guides and noticed that the Main Street Philharmonic was going to be performing momentarily in front of the castle. Being musicians we could not miss this. When they finished playing we headed over to the Enchanted Tiki room. This was still the original version and it was before Disney World's Tiki Room was changed back to the original version. The one in Disneyland is better. There is a water fountain in the middle that interacts with the show to some degree. It just seemed like a better version. Maybe be it was because it was the original. I am not sure. After that we saw a photopas photographer in front of the castle by the partners statue and got our picture taken. He was also kind enough to use our camera.I will continue in the next post. Katman1356...Jason 1,140
When we were done taking pics we headed over to Toontown. If you have ever seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit it is like they picked Toontown up out of the movie and plopped it down here. The Toontown Fair in Disney World had nothing on this place. Going under the railroad bridge into ToontownI think this is the message that should be on the door of every company that does repairs of any kind.Maestro Mickey fountainMinnie's HouseMickey's Housenot sure on pic count. will continue in next post.
