NextGen FASTPASS testing to resume in September

Aug 14, 2012

Disney is set to resume testing of its NextGen FASTPASS+ system in September of this year.

You may remember back in May of this year, a limited number of tests were carried out with the new RFID FASTPASS systems. It is anticipated that this time the test will be taken further, involving the new park Wi-Fi service and the 'My Disney Experience' smartphone app, which was recently released in beta form. In recent weeks Disney has been busy installing new RFID readers at entrances to many attractions as part of the new system.

FASTPASS construction in the entrance area has been ongoing at The Seas with Nemo and Friends pavilion for the last few months. During the last week another element has been added - a curved entrance canopy which will separate the FASTPASS and standby line, and also provide the wait time information.
