BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From Orlando Theme Park News...LEGOLAND Florida just made a very important announcement: the ticket prices of the park will... continue to stay the same. Surprised, huh? I am sure you were expecting an update saying that LEGOLAND was the next Central Florida theme park to raise its ticket prices. Well, you will certainly be happy to know that this won't be the case, at least for now. Here's LEGOLAND's latest press release:LEGOLAND® Florida: Ticket Price Stays the Same- Central Florida’s newest theme park is also most affordable, best vacation value -WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (July 16, 2012) – Despite rising ticket prices at other major Central Florida attractions, LEGOLAND® Florida today announced it will keep its prices steady through the summer at $75 for adults and $65 for children under 12. A family of four visiting the park will save between $40 and $56 a day compared to a visit to a competing park.“The comparisons are important, especially in today’s economy,” said LEGOLAND Florida Director of Sales & Marketing Kim Isemann. “Families are looking for great experiences at prices they can afford. A day at LEGOLAND Florida is one of the highest values in our industry.”Isemann suggests families compare other incremental costs too, such as dining and parking. At LEGOLAND Florida, all menu items – from mahi-mahi sandwiches to chicken Caesar salads – are priced no higher than $11. Parking is also more affordable, at $12 per car, $6 for motorcycles. Other parks charge $14 for both cars and motorcycles. For those looking to visit LEGOLAND Florida and the all new water park attraction, which opened in May and features water slides, a wave pool, several playground areas and a lazy river called Build-A-Raft, they can for only an additional $12 a day. A great value for families to experience more splashing thrills and family fun. While ticket price comparisons are on single-day, full-price admissions, there are many discount and combination-ticket offers in the marketplace as well:- Florida Residents save $20 on a Premium Pass, with unlimited admission to the theme park and water park, as well as free parking, plus food and merchandise discounts, through July 31.- Guests save $10 off single-day combo tickets for the park and water park by purchasing online through October 28._________________________________________________________________________Sounds good to us. Great job, LEGOLAND! Of course, we will continue to report any ticket price changes.http://orlandoparksnews.blogspot.com/2012/07/legoland-florida-ticket-prices-wont.html
Lou... 3,118
They should charge less, it's less of a park.It closes at 5 which makes it more expensive than WDW and the other parks when figured on a per hour basis. It's also geared towards families with younger kids which limits its appeal.Another drawback is that it's not that close to the other parks. It's located where the failed Cypress Gardens was located, so it may be on jinxed landYou have to wonder about it's viability when a park offers sizable discounts pretty much all the time.Unless the younger grand kids really want to go, we won't be. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I think they're probably still finding their audience - and their location (far enough from the Orlando theme park "hub") probably isn't helping them there. But they are supposedly adding a water park (not sure when that opens or if it has already), so that might help.My sister and BIL recently took my 11yo nephew out to CA for vacation and they did a day each Disneyland, Legoland and the San Diego zoo. Granted a day at DL isn't time to see much, but his favorite park was actually Legoland. Then again he has enough legos to build his own park!
