Discamper 394
From Face Book Judy FiestHey They are not doing the headless horseman this year....Laurie the big girl that does the carriage rides is so upset....They told her they are going to give it a rest this year and revamp the program she thinks it's because the carriages are getting worn out with all the money they made from the non stop shows they did and they just don't want to put out any money to repair, refurbish or buy new ones....how sad this makes me because we loved the headless horseman show being behind my site
DaveInTN 3,247
If they did these shows non stop, they had to be raking in a lot of money. Can't believe they'd willingly give that up.
Gots2pitt.. Jeff 64
I think someone forgot to look at how much money this was making and is only looking at the cost of the needed repairs.
Ok Grumpy AKA Cindy~~ 9
That is Sad!
Lou... 3,118
It's no consolation, they will be having the Headless Horseman show, just not at the Fort. It'll be at MK. mouseketab.....Carol
caveat lector 181
There's regular math...then there's Disney math. I would love to sit in on one of those meetings to hear them rationalize investment returns. I hope it's an open bar event, there is no way they do it sober
DaveInTN 3,247
Regardless of whether the headless horseman rides this year, I'm curious about why Laurie is known as "the big girl".
BouncingTiggers 98
Now I'm really bummed we didn't do it last year.

DaveInTN 3,247
From what I understand, the actual reason the headless horseman is not riding this year is that, after many years without a head and no financial means to get a head, under Obamacare his pre-existing condition can no longer keep him from getting insurance. So he got coverage, and he recently underwent surgery to get himself a head. And they say no one gets a head in America anymore. In any case, Disney fired him. Discamper 394
Disney had to stop the show for one year so it wouldn’t hold up the construction progress of the new Mickey’s Back yard BBQ pavilion and new DVC resort

Gotta say it's pretty awesome. We watched it last year from Liberty Square where the parade takes a left and it was amazingly cool to see them come riding up through Frontierland, with the added bonus of the with the clip-clop on the pavement. Unfortunately only people going to MVMCP will get to see it this year. Although if you're going to spring for one of the parties, I'd highly recommend that one anyway.Disney had to stop the show for one year so it wouldn’t hold up the construction progress of the new Mickey’s Back yard BBQ pavilion and new DVC resortUm... yeah.... that's it. Actually, I think that is it.Sort of.I think they are planning to get started on the new BBQ pavilion. Not the DVC resort itself. Just the new pavilion.Time will tell.TCD
