Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Thanks for the tip.I have alerted the TCD twins, who are there (without me) as we speak. They saw a Radio Disney Next Big Thing winner perform a few years back.Turns out Radio Disney got that one wrong. As they have each year.Maybe they need to change the name of the contest? How does Next Obscure Thing sound?TCD

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I'm betting Mo has more on this. Why yes, Lou - it just so happens I do! :DRadio Disney's NBT will be introducing the season 5 contestants in a 3 night showcase taking place at Hollywood Studios June 22-24, from 8-10pm, on the Sorcerer's Hat stage.Shealeigh and Zack Montana (Season 4's winner and runner-up) will also be performing.Prizes for the winner of this season's Next BIG Thing will include a spot on the DIsney Channel's "Austin & Ally", a single to be released by Disney Music Group, and an opportunity to be the opening act at the NBT finale.Contestants include:Sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey (ages 13 and 12) - R&B singers and actresses from Atlanta, GAJack Skuller (16) rockabilly singer and songwriter from Hoboken, NJKatherine Hughes (17) acoustic pop singer and actress from New York, NYElle Winter (13) pop singer, songwriter, and actress from New York, NYDamian Otchere (16) pop and R&B singer, dancer, and actor originally from East Orange, NJ
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Poor kids. They probably aren't getting paid. This has been going on for 5 years now, and so far, none of these so-called Next Big Things have even amounted to Medium things.TCD
Lou... 3,118
It's no different than the bands that march at MK.The kids feel special, as they should, it's still marching at MK, but unfortunately they're not selected because of how good they are.Any band can do it as long as they come up with the cash.Ok, they do have an audition process, but it's more for appearance than anything else. They can't have a band marching in jeans and T shirts. The number of bands that perform there every year is staggering. It's well over a thousand.Disney rakes in big bucks from the ticket and room sales for the bands and also from the relatives that tag along to catch little Johnny and Mary's 15 minutes of fame. It's a huge business.
