Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Whoa! Those are some great updates!I love all of your photos showing the little details that I ofter overlook.I'm glad that you rode Star Tours and got your carrot cake cookie. Now, I am wondering what the 3rd first-time thing will be.We always take the seats in the back of the bus too. It is usually less crowded back there, and these seats provide for the best people watching. And I agree with you and Carol- I like this time of year when all the holiday craziness is over.TCD
kampfirekim 260
Great update STef..I like Star Tours and Steven Tyler too. :) There is nothing boring about a giant pretzel with mustard. Yummy! Ok, ready for more...
doodlebug....Cherie 461
Great update!! I was able to read it without the laptop bouncing all over the place. It's good to be home but I miss you already!!Giant pretzels are my favorite snack at WDW. One of these days I will make it out of the Fort and go with you and get me one! Just how bad did Trevor not want to puke after Star Wars? I want to try the new version but I'm afraid of getting off the ride and feeling sick the rest of the day. stefa70 205
As much as I love the holidays, it's nice to see everything normal!!I couldn't agree more Carol. The holidays are beautiful, but I like normal Disney without the thousands of dumb people.Yes, I said dumb people...I will have more on that later.Whew, my $.44 bail fund is STILL safe.....until next time. :jumpforjoyKeep saving Genia, never know when I may need it!Whoa! Those are some great updates!I love all of your photos showing the little details that I ofter overlook.I'm glad that you rode Star Tours and got your carrot cake cookie. Now, I am wondering what the 3rd first-time thing will be.TCDI actually must give you the credit for that. Years ago when I started reading your reports, I was most impressed that you noticed little details and slight changes. Now I feel bad for the folks who dash through the parks from ride to ride and miss the small things that Disney works so hard on.My third first-time thing was getting caught by the po-po. I'm always happy to report that with all of my shenanigans, I never get caught in the act. Good thing these were make believe po-pos (kind of like the Rangers. )I do have another first-time experience coming soon. In fact, I enjoyed it so much the first time, I went back and did it again!Great update STef..I like Star Tours and Steven Tyler too. :) There is nothing boring about a giant pretzel with mustard. Yummy!Ok, ready for more...I'm happy I could offer a clean alternative for KFK! Bet your glad it wasn't a frozen banana. :rotfl6:Great update!! One time he closed his eyes for a second to re-group, but it's not bad at all. If I can do it, you surely can. I can hardly ride a carousel without getting nauseous. stefa70 205
It's now Thursday evening, we've had dinner, cleaned up and had a great visit with Lou. While Lou was visiting, my left eye would not stop itching, but I didn't think too much about it.We have a couple drinks and Mike & Doodle swing by.I wanted to do a little night looping, so we loaded up on the cart and off we went.We rode by Drafthorse Crazy's site numerous times, but never could catch them at home. Here is their site at night. The Meadow Trading PostWhile we stopped for a bus picking up passengers, we sat there for a long time. This genius was obviously confused by the bus system and walked right out to the drivers side to clear things up. I could hear the bus driver trying to explain it to him, all while traffic was piling up behind us.I could only think of Lou and his patience level, which must be must higher than my own. After clueless guy figured out where he wanted to go and which bus to travel in, we continued on. I made Trevor pull off the road for this picture.Tucked up along the side of the road, the Fort landscapers had thrown these bushes out for planting. At the time, I didn't know where they were planting them, but I knew they weren't going to move them very far.We parked at the Meadows and walked over to the pool.No little ones were playing, and Trevor and I discussed smuggling Mason into this area. He loves the water, especially shallow water that he can lay down in.But there were people swimming in the big pool. If you look closely, you can see the little wake created right around the ladder when someone stroked by.A couple of people were taking advantage of the free wifi on the back porch of the trading post.It was about 8:30 when we got back, and this is where I found Mason.I made the mistake of laying down to catch the end of American Idol, and that was all she wrote. I started dozing off while still scratching my eye feverishly. I went ahead to bed by 9:00, with plans of trying another new thing the next day.

stefa70 205
Friday morning, I woke up bright and early (happens when you go to bed at 9:00pm) Bright eyed & bushy tailed.....NO. I could only see out of one eye, because the other one was swollen shut. Obviously something had bitten me the previous day, so I woke up looking like a cyclops. But I'm at Disney World, and Nathen was coming in that night!!! :jumpforjoy One bad eye was not going to spoil my day. I enjoyed my coffee and read a little fort fiends and email while Trevor slept until 8:20. By this time, I had a plan for the day all ready. Lorna had gotten in the night before, so her & Doodle came over for a little while. After the girls left, I told Trevor my big plans, and he agreed it was a keeper.Magic Kingdom it is!They had just pressure washed the dock so it looked brand new.And a MK boat was headed our way.I really like this picture, bird poop and all.As luck would have it, we had a nearly empty boat also!Discovery IslandThis next picture you can clearly see the bird nets. During the growing season, these nets are barely noticeable through the trees.Trevor and I had separate missions for this trip to the MK. We arrived around noon expecting a pretty good crowd for this time of the day. Instead of a huge crowd, the Move It, Shake It Parade was happening. I have gotten caught up in this parade on at least my last 5 visits! So, we decided to do something we hadn't done in years, we went up to wait for the train. The Train Lady CM told us the train would arrive in about 5 minutes, so I took some more pictures. Here's the castle from the station.Choo Choo, we hear it coming!!While waiting for everyone to remain seated and keep their arms and legs inside the train, I took a picture of the front gates. This is noon-ish, on a Friday! Finally we pulled away.We disembarked at Frontier Land and kept right on walking until we arrived at our destination. It was warm, but overcast on this day. I don't like the castle without the Florida sunshine above it.The castle show was going on, so I tried to listen to that and contain my excitement. No, it wasn't the show that had me all giddy....it was this! The nutella and fresh fruit waffle. I have been wanting to try this since Monique posted about it, and I was about to dig in. Trevor and I shared it, even though it wasn't really what he wanted, but I secretly wished I had it all to myself. It was delicious!! The waffle was warm and the fruit was fresh. I highly recommend it, and would prefer to eat this over any other meal at the MK.After the waffle, it was time to indulge Trevor. Tomorrow Land, here we come. When we were here in December, the Lunching Pad was closed for refurbishment and Trevor was bummed. They are now open for business, and Trevor put in his order. The sweet cream cheese filled pretzel. Yum!!After 1/2 of a waffle and 1/2 of a pretzel, we were stuffed. There are so many good things to eat at Disney World, that I hardly ever eat a meal. I would rather graze all day long. It was now time to walk off all those calories.I still don't like "gloomy skies over Cinderellas castle"What better way to burn some calories than to climb the treehouse. This was the first time I had ever realized the Kapok trees around the SFR treehouse. They are nasty little buggers with huge spikes off of the trunk. We checked out the Jungle Cruise, but it was a 40 minute wait and I don't like it that much. They have done some new stuff near the JC where you pay to drive the little cruise boats. We visited some of the shops in the area, and made our way back towards Main Street. There was another parade getting ready to start. I would be willing to bet it was that darn Move it, Shake it again. UGH!!!This CM was moving it and shaking it himself, while his coworker was giving the crowd the "he's crazy" sign. Rhythm is not this poor guys strong suit.We had noticed that WDW uses this quiet time for a lot of refurbishments. There were walls and curtains everywhere. It makes me sad for the people who are on a once in a lifetime visit.I chilled with Minnie and Roy.But wait....there's more! While it wasn't my first time doing this, it was my first time in about 35 years.............
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
More great photos! And you have become the master of the cliffhanger! Thanks for giving your review of the waffle sandwich. doodlebug....Cherie 461
Ok, so now maybe I will go with you to the MK and share a nutella waffle. I could never eat one by myself, so you can have 3/4's of it and I can have a 1/4.

stefa70 205
Finishing up our afternoon at MK. We had almost made it to the exit when I glanced over and saw the signs for meeting Mickey and The Princessess.Mickey = wait time 5 minutesThe Princesses = wait time 10 minutesWHAT??? When did meeting silly old Princesses trump meeting the Big Cheese? I haven't had my picture taken with Mickey since I was little a child, and I was ticked that his wait time was so short. Don't these people understand...This is Mickey Mouse!!!! I had to give Mickey the love & attention he deserved. It's neat how he has his own meeting building now, and I truly felt like I was meeting a big star. They led in us into a small room that's made to look like his dressing room and they shut the door. There was a couple of people in front of me, and it was dark in there, so I had to take off my sunglasses. (remember I still had one wonky eye!)I snapped this picture and then handed my camera to Trevor so when my turn came, he could be ready. Then I waited patiently....not really, I was as excited as any little kid and couldn't help but get a sneak peek. And then it was my turn!! I got kisses from both Mickey & Minnie and Trevor took our picture. :heart:Their handler then asked if he could take one of all 4 of us, and of course I couldn't resist. What a fun way to end our day at MK! It's nice to act like a kid now and again.A Fort boat was just pulling up to the dock, and we hopped on.Bye for now MK!!There's something going on in the area right before the no-wake zone. I asked Lou if he knew anything about it, but he didn't know. More than likely boring stuff like drainage. The shoe tree has quite a few pairs of shoes now. After getting back, we took Mason on his daily walk and golf cart ride. We went over to visit Richie and looped around. The trees I had found the night before were freshly planted. And I saw the biggest tarp I've ever seen in my life. I couldn't even see what they had all stashed under that thing.I made some BLT's on cheese bread, and we waited for Nathen & Amanda!! :jumpforjoyThe kids are here!!! (In my Jeep )After a few cocktails, and a slow dance in the screen room, we all headed to Lorna & Richies.Throughout the whole week, Trevor had been drinking beer. He hardly ever drinks liquor, not even punch. Tonight he was in the mood for something different, so he mixed vanilla vodka with cream soda. He enjoyed it, and the next one, and the one after that....At Lorna's was Judy, Dano & Jen, Tina &Tara, Tim & Sheila, Doodle & Mike, Grumpy & Grandma, Nathen & Amanda, Trevor & I, and of course, Lorna & Richie. Here's a couple of pictures of the gang.Carol showed up later that night, and if you go back and look at her pictures from this night, you will see my dear husband was more than feeling the vodka. He decided to start "watering" the bush behind Lorna's site, and it was a very small, sparse bush. Then he started talking in the third person "Trevor's drunk!" "Trevor's had enough to drink!" It was time to take Trevor home. Of course, like any drunk, now he wanted food. I tossed him the heel of the cheese bread and then he complained that I was trying to kill him. He laid on the couch with his eyes closed, I'm not sure if he was sleeping or spinning, but I crawled over him and went to bed. Somehow at some time, he also made it into the bed. That ends Friday and I am already getting the going home blues. Only one full day left, then home on Sunday.
