THE KID WAS GOING TO DRIVE TO DISNEY FOR THE FIRST TIME...I'm not going to tell you if we made it back or not, but I hope you figured it out. Heads up, we stop by The Fort somewhere on this trip and we will have photos of the new Fantasy Land area through out the report.As you can see we started early, 6:30 AM, be were up before the sun. You know she must have been excited to get up this early on a day when there was no school. First stop, Starbucks.Before we continue, raise your hands if you've heard of flat Stanley... well we made a flat Snarky... we decided he needs to enjoy the rides and the adventures so he will be traveling with us from now on.Fuel for the people, check, next fuel for the car.Now for the fun part, the Crosstown, 75 and I-4. These first pictures show all the traffic on the crosstown heading to Tampa... going to work. Sorry guys, we are going the other way.These pictures are on I-4. For those of you that have driven this way let's see if you recognize these famous sights.Can you feel it we are about to enter the happy bubble, so let's enjoy the ride in.Look they are repaving the roads.Only for about 100 yards.Wait for itWait for itWaaaaait....We made it... phew... the trouble hasn't started yet... give it 5 more minutes.This is where it all starts!!!!!But... here are some candy apples to hold you over until the next update.Julie and Tyler :popcorn: Quote Link to post Share on other sites

We decided to do the whole tourist thing, you know park in the parking lot, ride the tram, get to the park in time to see the big opening (if you haven't seen it, I recommend it.) Ok, you feeling it, get a new parking pass to add to the collection, take pictures of the opening, blah blah blah.... Well, here we go. I guess I was just asking for trouble.So we pull up to the parking pass booth, Tyler pulled up so I had to pay. WHAT? I thought the driver always payed, man. So I was excited to see which character was on my pass and here it is. Are you ready....WAAAAIT A MINUTE! So just to let you know, we have a collection of parking passes from years past. Do they expect me to keep this as a treasure? So even though I will have to live with the shame... take a look at how much I spent to get this piece of paper and they could not give me a picture, a drawing, a stamp, a sticker.... ANYTHING cute. What the H E double hockey sticks!!!!!Ok, Ok I know, let it go... so I will focus on the adventure into the parking lot, remember I'm was not driving my life was in the hands of my 16 year old "slow down" "watch out". Just kidding she is a good driver, it just makes for a better story, right.Here we are I'm so excited to see which section we will be in (do you know whats going to happen?) Woohoo, I see transportation.Look, we are going to get to park in the first row. :)So now I'm excited I get to take a picture showing which section we are in... NOOOOOO.UMMMMMMM What is this?We must have gone the wrong way. Are we at the Animal Kingdom? Are we in an alternate universe? Where is Minnie? Where are Chip and Dale? I can't believe that we missed this bit of news!OK, deep breath, all is good. Let's go get on the tram and have a fun ride.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Do you see this? Because I don't know what I am looking at.Doors? Now I have no reason to make small children sit to the inside. No reason to hold on to my belonging so they don't fall off and I can go running after them later. How am I going to jump off right before the ride stops so I can break the rules with out really breaking the rules?Breath. IN, OUT, IN, OUT. I am so out of my element. I feel like a real tourist because I don't know what is going on.It's ok, we can still make it to the gate in time to see the opening show, lets go...No time for the resort monorail, we are taking the express straight to the park! It's 20 till 9:00 we can do it.This way we will get at least one good view.The peach monorail is just pulling in, and........... there it goes, only half full. Oh well, what ever I give up. We will just hop on to the yellow, 10 minutes later. That's ok, we've seen the opening before.There it is, over there, do you see it, can you feel it... Sun rise over The Fort is right there. Good morning Fort. This makes me happy!Hidden Mickey.Wellllllll, all good things come to those who wait.Sunrise over The Fort,and then check out this view from the monorail...... the opening.I could not have asked for a better view or picture if I had planned it. Disney really is a magical place. This is were we will leave you all for the night. Next post will have some Fantasy Land, and another appearance from Flat Snarky.
