Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I wonder if you still need a valid KTTW card from that resort to use the wi-fi?I will check on this at one of the resorts that has it on one of our future visits. But, if anyone already knows how it works, I'm wondering about who has access to the free wi-fi?TCD

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Maybe they heard that I'll spend more time there if I can get a reliable, FREE WiFi connection so I work from the Fort. :rofl2:
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I was about to post this photo in my current trip report, but I figured this would be a better place to post it.The Internet Cafe' at the Fort has been closed since Thanksgiving:In case you can't read that, here's a closer look:I heard a thing or two about changes coming the Fort's way. The information I got was vague and conflicting, so I don't know what to believe. But maybe we are going to get free wi-fi at the Fort.TCD

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From MousePlanet...…Disney has filed a permit for property-wide installation of "WiFi and Distributed Antenna System." No word on whether it is for guest-accessible WiFi or if it's just for the use of Disney operations cast members.http://www.mouseplanet.com/9907/Walt_Disney_World_Resort_Update
Lil Lisa 53
From MousePlanet...http://www.mouseplanet.com/9907/Walt_Disney_World_Resort_UpdateI doubt that they would go through the trouble of installing it only for castmember use. We can hope anyhow!
mikmouse 3
Free wi-fi while we were at the Boardwalk last week, and other resorts for dinner. No problem. No guest verification, just accept the terms.
Grumpy and Grandma 740
I missed this particular thread earlier. It is "Free" at the Outpost and both Trading Posts. The trading post signals works at the Meadows pool and on the porch at TE also.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From MousePlanet... Pop Century gets free WiFiLast week, we reported that Disney had filed permits to install property-wide WiFi. It's uncertain whether or not this is related, but we are hearing reports from some guests that free WiFi is now available at Disney's Pop Century Resort. It now seems only a matter of time before all resorts offer free WiFi access. It's thought that Disney originally didn't want to encourage guests to be on the Internet because they'd rather have them in the parks, restaurants, and stores spending money. However, with the recent push to include social media networking in the guest experience, Disney may have decided that having people be able to post photos while they're on their trip (and perhaps access their Next Generation Initiative reservations once that function comes online) is even better free marketing. In any case, watch for free WiFi to become available at the few resorts that do not yet offer it.http://www.mouseplanet.com/9911/Walt_Disney_World_Resort_Update#wifi
