Blonde Bunny 3
Ok, next question (and by the way, thanks for the answers to all my other questions- you guys are great!!!):Should we rent a golf cart? I've check out the golf cart page and there is lots of great info there. What I want to know is do we really need a golf cart? We have a pop up and will request the 1500 loop.Where can you go and park your cart? Can you leave it at the bus stops for a day in the parks and ride it back to the site at then end of the day?So, what are the benefits/drawbacks to renting a cart? PureTcrazy...rita 380
Benefit: Looping! Riding around looking at the different loops, campers, decorations Don't have to wait on the internal buses, drive your cart to the outpost to catch the bus or the settlement to catch the boat. Visit Fiends easier!Drawback: THE COSTLots of folks bring their bikes. The 1500 is in a great location, but you could also end up in the 2000 and it's not so convenient at all. That being said, there are internal buses that run continuously through the Fort. Personally, we love looping and having the golf cart to get around and visit other Fiends! Gots2pitt.. Jeff 64
Disclaimer: I am not a golf cart person. Two main advantages: 1. Not having to wait for a bus. 2. Looping to see other sites (best at Holiday times for decorations).Only real disadvantage is cost.Crap Rita beat me by like 30 seconds. :toiletreading: Edited November 28, 2011 by Gots2pitt

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Rita and Jeff got it covered pretty well. :)I'll just add that if the cost isn't in the budget for you to rent for your whole trip and you're there at the holidays, you can always rent a cart for a day from Disney and plan a looping trip to see the decorations. Cost will be about $65.A general note on renting... if you're going to be there during a really busy time - especially Christmas week - reserve ahead! Even if you're doing just the one day rental from Disney. Carts are popular and during the holidays rental companies book up quickly.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
As far as where you can park your cart. There is golf cart parking at the Outpost bus stop, at the marina, near trails end, near the pool, at the entrance of Meadows trading post, near the campfire, near the pool.It is so convenient to hop on the cart to grab a bag of ice at the trading post, or drive up to the Marina to catch a boat to MK, or as other folks said, just "looping" to see the other sights and decorations around the Fort. AuburnJen 777
My parents rented a cart for a week and said it was the best thing they did on their trip. They brought their cart with them, so it was considered a personal cart by Disney. We got home tonight and he has gone on and on on the phone about how much better his trip was because of the carts. They stayed in the cabins and it really helped them get around.
