we3peas 12
I wonder if they play accordions ... :rofl2:We didn't hear any music then but late at night when the wind was whispering through the trees we could hear faint strains of.....hippie music! :raspberry:
Roller ... aka Ed 351
And I toned down that chile so it wouldn't be too bad. Oh well, it left more for me!

we3peas 12
Loving the TR.. The pumpking carvings are very creative! Where do they set that up?This year it was set up at the stage where the sing-a-long happens. I think in previous years it might have been in the Meadows store. I know they usually have the cast members pumpkins in there, but this year we only saw 2 pumpkins on Friday and by Saturday they were gone. When we went to POR they had about a dozen cast members pumpkins displayed in their lobby.
we3peas 12
10/31 Our final day -HalloweenThis day starts with a steady rain. In fact I thinked it rained until almost 11 am. So we just made the best of it and watched our Charlie Brown Halloween DVD that we had brought along. When it cleared up DH and I did another bike tour. This time we made it all the way to the Wilderness Lodge. We walked around the lobby and shops, one of the cast members was standing at the entrance giving out candy. We eventually walked into the Roaring Forks and found a contest had happened here:There were some really creative ideas for the hats. After seeing the winners we walked back outside to the pools area...And then went to get our bikes and head back to the FortUp next our trip to DTD... we3peas 12
Well I'm having trouble locating the cord to get the pictures off the camera so any pics of DTD will have to wait. Let's just say we enjoyed it, we ate at Earl of Sandwich then shopped at World of Disney, and there's a new store since we've been by there called the Spice and Tea Exchange that shares space with Mickey's Pantry that we will be back to get some items for Christmas. The girls loved Ghiradelli since they were handing out full size candy bars on Halloween. We stopped in for me to get my pumpkin spice chocolates and ordered a couple of sundaes to eat. After that fattening repast we headed back to the RV to rest up for the Golf cart parade and trick or treating that night. Here's some of our favorites from the GC parade that afternoon:The first pirate shipWolverine superherosAlice in Wonderland's Mad Tea PartyFinding NemoHaunted mansion cart-they even had the music!Scooby Dosecond piratePerry the Platypusand the best of all Tow Mater! The girls were ready for the candy throwing..Best budsBut the star of the show for our family was......Pirate! Isn't he the cutest!I just had to scoop him up and love on him!His owners told me that they have 4 more Jack Russell's at home. Pirate is 4 months old and has a lot of energy. His owners said they both were retired from the Miami-Dade police at MIA and had another larger dog they adopted that used to be the woman's bomb sniffing dog. Since both my DH and I worked at OIA we struck up a conversation and missed a lot of the parade. Good thing others took pictures too.Pirate looked just like a dog we used to have named Ginger. She was part beagle and part JR and I usually say the worst of both. She was SO smart and got into trouble a lot. I really miss her.Well as soon as the parade ended we moved along to putting on our costumes and getting the candy ready.DH as the fierce national Park ranger. If you looked close you wold see he had 2 different badges on and a Minuteman Park hat.I was the Queen of the Nile. The girls went as an eyeball and a Pikachu.About 9 pm we left the bowl of candy for anyone who wanted it and walked over to the Train Guy's site to see his completed setup. They were in full candy hauling mode with the trains delivering as fast as they could.I wish there was a costume contest as I think this child would have won something:And with that we rounded up the girls and headed back to our site. We still had candy left so I guess the Fort did work harder this year at keeping the event for people who were supposed to be in the Fort. I did not hear of any accidents or near misses so better than previous years and everyone was safe. You can't ask for more than that.Tuesday morning we woke up, packed up and left. But we never received our bill, did anyone else get theirs on their vehicle? I asked the cast member who was cleaning up if she had seen anyone placing them on the cars and she said no. So we left, they have my CC # so I'm sure they will find me.....Until January when we will be there for marathon weekend.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
And look TCD I didn't know you had friends camping on the 1900 loop.....Thanks! I heard about this camper, but never got around to going to look for it.I'm not too scared. It isn't a VW, after all. Tuesday morning we woke up, packed up and left. No charges-no bill.TCD

No charges-no bill.TCDWe had four connecting reservations this trip. The first reservation was the only one we got a bill on the cart/car. They also totally messed up our charging priveleges on the 3 other reservations. They had our card, but put $0 as the limit each time, had to go back and fix it each time. kampfirekim 260
Awesomely great report!Ouch on the toenail injury! Great photos all the way around but I must say you got some of the BEST FW wildlife photos evaaahhhh!! Great job! (I wouldn't have gone near the gator either.)I don't recall ever seeing photos of the pumpkin carving contest. That looks like it would have been fun!

(I wouldn't have gone near the gator either.)I don't recall ever seeing photos of the pumpkin carving contest. That looks like it would have been fun!Yeah the toe hurt but I was more worried about the sandals because they were going to be part of my Halloween costume later. Had to work hard to get the blood out of the leather. Girl's got to have priorities right?I love that there is wildlife at the Fort. We don't normally stay at RV resorts, FW is probably the only one we have ever gone back to. Usually the people are stuffy and don't know how to have fun so getting a few days at FW is great especially since we've always seen some sort of wildlife while we were there.I think next year if we are there we will compete in the carving contest. There were some great pumpkins, we didn't get pictures of all of them. Unfortunately they let everyone take them away as soon as judging was finished so if you didn't see them at the contest you might not see them at all. We never found out who won. Hopefully TCD knows as he seems to know everything....

I will be getting to that in my report. I have no idea on the golf carts. They used to post all of this information at the Bike Barn. But they didn't on this trip. I got my info from the young castmembers who judged all of this, as well as one of my reliable informants. I'll have photos and more info in my trip report.BTW- I think you got photos of most of the pumpkins. We stopped by a bit later than you did, but you got all of the biggies.TCD

Roller ... aka Ed 351
I don't think I will ever manage a Full Marathon. The 1/2 is going to be a push, but who knows what may happen. I'm seeing my Neurologist and Pulmonary Specialists (and having more tests run) in the next month - maybe they can 'tweak' things a little more that will help me enough for a Full in the future ... we3peas 12
Go for it Ed, Maybe you could racewalk it instead. Some of those people are faster than runners anyway. I admire anyone who can do more than a 5K. I said I would never run unless someone was chasing me trying to kill me because I hate it so much, but I've done about 7 5K's in the last few years and I do enjoy them...especially when they are over!
