Rhonda (aka Roz) 7
I posted this in two places, for new visitors (in case they don't go into the Dining Reviews section):This has not been confirmed by Disney yet, but seems to be true...Effective October 26, 2011, additional Walt Disney World restaurants will be requiring a credit card to hold reservations. The reservations will need to be cancelled no later than 24 hours prior or a charge of $10 per person will be applied to the credit card on hold. This change is being implemented to cut down on the number of reservation no-shows that occur at the most popular Disney dining locations. This will reduce the cancellation penalty window to 24 hours instead of the 48 hours for some locations, but again, this has not been confirmed by Disney yet. Here is the list of dining locations anticipated to have this new requirement:1900 Park FareAkershusArtist PointCalifornia GrillCape May CafeChef Mickey'sCitricosCrystal PalaceFlying FishGarden GrillHollywood & VineHollywood Brown DerbyJikoLe CellierNarcoossee's'OhanaTusker HouseVictoria & Albert ($25 per person cancellation penalty)Yachtman SteakhouseA special cancellation line will be set up to call your cancellations in if necessary. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
That will make availability for these restaurants much easier!!
Roller ... aka Ed 351
I didn't have aby trouble getting California Grill and Brown Derby on 26 Oct and then Yachtsman Steakhouse and Cirque on the 27th. I only needed to use a credit card to confirm for California Grill. I do hope they go this way. This along with only one reservation per time slot will almost let you walk up and get in. Rhonda (aka Roz) 7
This along with only one reservation per time slot will almost let you walk up and get in.That's what I was thinking too! A lot of people don't want to be forced to make reservations in advance. It's nice to wing-it once in awhile too. This post has been promoted to an article

We4mickey 6
This is great, as people who fly by the seat of our pants on vacation, maybe we can get into a restaurant without a ressie.
BouncingTiggers 98
I think that is great. I so many restaurants book up so fast that it's ridiculous. Maybe now people will think before booking a slot just because they may decide to eat there.
