mouseketab.....Carol 1,261 Posted September 13, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 13, 2011 Sunday, September 4th!! LET'S GO ON A CRUISE!!!!!!Well the next morning, I wake up at 5AM!!! Not sure why. The first thing I do is go to the Port Canaveral Webcam and look for the Dream!! The camera wasn't pointed that way, but soon after see a Carnival Ship passing by then get on Fort Fiends and Facebook, but then lay back down for a little while.When I get back up and look on the webcam the Dream is THERE!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!!!We get up and get packed up, have a some breakfast downstairs at the hotel and wait for our shuttle.Since we wrestling lots of bags and the scooter, we're not taking any pictures just yet today.Finally, the shuttle arrives and we get all our stuff loaded and off we go!!!!!Our first glimpse of the Port.There she is!!!!!Getting closer!!!We're in the checkin building!!!Almost our turn to go through the tunnel!!Getting closer!!!Arriving inside coming next!!! As you know when you arrive in the lobby your juggling carryons and wandering around with your jaw on the ground and lots of folks pushing behind!! So it's kind of hard to get the right pics!!We walked on board and were greeted with THIS!!And then THIS!!We were then directed to go toward the aft of the ship and up to Deck 11 in Cabanas for lunchWe came upon this and Buff had to get a picture in that chair!!We continue down the hallThen get in the aft elevator up to Deck 11And find a spot for lunch in CabanasA few shots out from our lunch table of Kennedy Space Center Launch FacilityComing next. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261 Posted September 14, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 14, 2011 OK, time for another installment.After lunch, it's finally time for us to head for our cabin.We made the mistake of going straight down to deck 5 in the aft elevator. There are only a few decks on the dream that go all the way from front to back without many obstacles. On Deck 5 are all of the Kids Clubs and the Port Excursions Desk. So it was a windy maze to get from the back of the ship to our cabin with lots of folks in the hallways checking their kids in the clubs for the first time.We finally made it to our cabin door and was surprised to find we entered facing foward instead of facing to the side of the ship. We were assigned Cabin 5552, Category 5E Accessible. The lowest category Verandah cabin with plexiglass walls on the verandah.I knew our cabin was bigger than normal, but NOTHING prepared me for what awaited us inside!!Once again some of these pics are from later in the cruise once we got organistic, but here we go!!!Oh, and the first neat trick is our door is automatic!!! We pass our key over the lock and it opens by itself!! There is also a button on the inside that opens the door for you!!Right as you enter you see the bathroomThen further in the room is the closets with a nice storage bench.Then in the middle of the room is a nice queen sized bed. And on the far wall is the desk.Out the doors is our VerandahOur Verandah is HUGE!!Room on the left side of the bedRoom on the right side of the bedThe view from the doorBathroom DetailsClosetSafeLeft ClosetRight ClosetAccessible Closet RodSofaDeskFridgePull Down BunkMost folks said there was only one regular plug in the entire cabin, but we found a 2nd one under the nightstand on the left side of the bed.More Verandah PicsAnother corner to corner room picComing Next, the Fiends come to Visit and we Sail Away!!!! H just said he'd spend the entire cruise on that veranda!!!I've never been on a cruise but this TRis tempting me to the breaking point!
