CeciliaKy 1
I'm new here. Compared to other trip reports here, my writing skills are average (at best) ... I use ellipses and the oxford comma. I'm not a camper, but stayed at the Fort last October. (why does that sound like a Holiday Inn Express commercial?!)I do have another trip on the horizon & thinking I might take a stab at the planning via pre-tripping. :)Felt like I should put it all out there before I started typing. Especially the part about the oxford comma. I know people sometimes have strong feelings about that.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Absolutely!!!! Fire Away, then continue on with your trip report once you return!!!!

okgirlie...Brandy 6
Well, I am a newbie and am about finished with an 11 day trip report and have over 1000 views. You should definitely write a pre-trip report and then finish it when you get back. :)I am not a good writer, either. What's worse is I used to teach, but I am still bad at it. I decided to not let that stop me and I am so glad I did it. Now I will always remember my trip.
Momof6....aka Marty 769
It is not only allowed, but it is encouraged! (Only now I have to go google "oxford comma")Okay, back from googling. My teacher taught me the Oxford Comma. I always thought I was right and every one else was wrong. That said, we would be happy, pleased, and excited to read your pre-trip report.
rdancemom... Pam 113
Isn't that a vampire weekend song? Are you a vampire pre-TR-ing newbie?? :waycool: I know that I, for one, can't wait to read whatever you're willing to share...
Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo..Karla 77
When's your next trip?I'm a user of ellipses and the oxford comma too ... sometimes too much ... it's an inherited trait in my family!Looking forward to your report!

Lil Lisa 53
I didn't go to Oxford, so I don't know what kind of commas they use there. I am a huge user of elipses though. All I know for sure is that everyone here is addicted to any kind of trip report pre... post... it doesn't matter. Just make sure to include lots of pictures. We love pictures!
Lou... 3,118
I have some oxfords and love to watch eclipses. I have an eight grade education, be gentle.
PureTcrazy...rita 380
I'm already learning and you haven't even started. I didn't know what the Oxford comma was. I looked it up! I was taught to use it in elementary school, but was steered away from it in college. Now, I'm just confused and use it sometimes and not others!
Judy in Texas 150
I had to look up "Oxford Comma", too. I think it depends on what when you went to school whether you use them or not. I do, my daughter does not. Welcome!
doodlebug....Cherie 461
The only reason I knew what an oxford comma was, is because my DD is a professional/technical writer. She corrects me all the time :rofl2:
Roller ... aka Ed 351
I knew them as serial commas.

CeciliaKy 1
okay ... I feel as though you've all been properly warned when:early October. The kids' last day of school before Fall Break is Sept 30, so that will be our travel day. (How we're traveling has yet to be determined ... ) How we travel determines when we arrive on WDW property, so the details of October 1 remain flexible. The only thing that is not flexible about October 1 is that it's the anniversary of the birth of our daughter. The baby. The one who has celebrated every birthday since her arrival at Disney, thanks to our school system's fall break. There will be cake, for sure. ** a side note. when do they stop being the baby? is there a set age? 10? 20? 45? **The vacation will be a week long -- again dependent on whether we fly or drive. I'm planning on 7 nights, hoping for 8. It already doesn't seem long enough. who:us. how many of us remains a question. we're definitely a party of 4 (me, DH, DS, DD) and we're hoping our college-age DS can fly down & meet us for a couple of days. it would involve skipping class and it may not work out. where:no idea. well. that's not entirely true. some idea. the majority of the time will be spent at the Fort -- either renting some type of camper or staying in the cabins. I'm thinking 5 or 6 nights. I booked with a PIN code earlier in the year -- a night at Pop Century to hold the discount with minimal $ involved ... if I switch, I think it's good for 35% off at the cabins. I can't remember for sure. I'm also wondering if it's valid at the campgrounds. (I never asked, because when I booked, renting something and camping wasn't even on my mind) So, I'm sitting on that reservation for now. If it turns out that we fly, it would be good to have a cheap place to stay when we arrive & take advantage of Magical Express from the airport. (Air Tran Friday night flights land at 8pm) I'm also waiting on Disney, wondering if they're releasing any new discounts coming for the fall. I'm realizing, as I'm typing and typing that it sounds like I don't really have a clue, and perhaps I should get a one before calling this a trip report. Long story short, we'll be at the Fort 5 nights. Maybe 6. Everything else remains a mystery.

Roller ... aka Ed 351
It's pretty good. I'm guessing it was in the 30-40% range.

It's cheaper for a Premium Camp site than Pop by a LOT!

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Welcome newbie.I am conflicted.I am anti-pre-trip report. But I am pro-punctuation.And, you did post a link to some good photos. So, I guess I don't object to your pre-trip report.I appreciate that you asked if it was OK.I see y'all are Wildcats.I also see that you got some photos of my friend Feisty's site.In case you didn't notice she's from Louisiana.Do you know who plays football on the day of your arrival (10/1?).I think you should invite yourselves over to Feisty's site to watch the game.Don't worry, she'll be there. She'll probably feed you too.Kentucky has a bit of a rough stretch there at the end of September/beginning of October.Good luck with that. And, unless I missed it, for someone who claims to be a big fan of the Oxford comma, how come we haven't see one yet?TCD CeciliaKy
