And history! Those church grounds feel very special....Love the beach pics, Kim! That was a an awesome campsite! Where was that at?Thanks Rita. The beach was Hunting Island State Park. It is not very far from Beaufort, SC. My dad has gone there since he was a kid and in turn took us there every single year sometimes more than once or twice or three times. LOL. It is a beautiful "untouched" beach. No hotels etc. to spoil the beauty of it.

Total Joker ... TJ 203
Ooo, I just found this TR.Start over from the beginning please.... :rofl2:There’s no time like the present to start sharing the H in SC and KFK family vacay to the Fort 2011. I have nothing short of a gazillion photos to sort through but I’ve done enough to get this report underway. So here we go….Day 0I refer to our first day as Day 0 because to me it doesn’t count until I am parked in the Fort Wilderness overflow parking lot and walking into the outpost. H says it counts but I say no and I’m the one writing this .. SO THERE H! H always makes me include a pic of our TT loaded and hitched but we didn’t take one so here is a photo before we hitched up:We didn’t take the time to have breakfast at home.. Lucky there’s one of these in our town…Well we're not really lucky it’s in our town. It’s not my fave but the coffee is good.Lil H decided this was a good time for a few ZZZZZZZzzzzz’s . Gabe’s taking it all in.Good ole H.As is our tradition we like to stay the first night outside the Magical gate. It helps us manage the kids and we’re fresh and ready to go when we arrive at the Fort. Works for us. Last year we stayed at Fort Summit KOA. This year we tried the Encore CG Lake Magic. There was no lake that we saw…. Or magic. But it was only for overnight so it was alright. When we arrived there was no one in the office. Literally no one. Only a sign directing you to another window. H went to the other window and there was another sign saying office was closed on Sunday. Ummm ... this was Sunday. We had no idea what to do so we did what anyone else would do… we just picked a site and set up. Even though the CG itself wasn’t much to speak of we did get to enjoy this beautiful sunset…One of these photos shows me from the backside. It isn’t as exciting as the backside of water but you may as well get used to it. H took a lot of similar ones. Even after I told him to stop. At some point I bought groceries at the Publix across the street, ate fried chicken from Publix then we let the boys play awhile to burn off as much little boy energy as possible and then went inside for a good nights rest. Tomorrow will be a very important day. We arrive at the Fort. :)This post has been promoted to an article

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
DAY 1 The day has finally arrived… The H and kfk family will be invading.. I mean arriving.. at the Fort. :yay: Ya’ll have already seen photos of our stay at Lake “Magic”. The best magic there was our disappearing act. :rofl2: The main purpose of our staying there was so that when our big day arrives we will be within minutes of Fort Wilderness. We arrive fresh, rested and ready to roll. Unfortunately It didn’t quite happen that way. Due to a huge motel fire all traffic was being rerouted and what should have been a 20 minute drive turned into an hour and a half. BUT on the bright side… at least we weren’t in the fire. Thankfully no one was seriously injured. This is what we saw while we were stuck in traffic. Once the traffic cleared we were on our way and began seeing more appealing sights such as these:Unfortunately, due to the fire, we didn’t get to pass under the big Walt Disney World sign. However, as I’ve already said, at least we weren’t in the fire. These were just small inconveniences comparatively.Once we passed under that beautiful Magic Kingdom sign and made that awesomely great right turn magic was being felt by all the family. We could hardly take it. In fact Lil H exclaimed… “I’m feelin’ the magic now!!!” Makes it all worth it! We’re here!!!Inside the Outpost.I have the need to take a photo of the checkerboard. We all love a good Musket Mickey right? Here he is still on the checkerboard. I really hope he stays there forever. Fort Wilderness Rocks!Fort Wilderness Rock #1Fort Wilderness Rock #2Fort Wilderness Rock #3Still tired from the side trip so I’ll stop here for tonite. Coming up .. Our arrival to site 912 and more.ETA: I'm not sure how I posted the checkerboard pic so many times, but I'm not going to fix it. I'm too tired... or maybe I just liked it more than I thought. Haha! Until tomorrow..... KFK.

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Sorry. Photobucket was having issues with me today so I couldn’t post any photos until now.Day 1 continues…After Lil’ H was done posing on every Fort Wilderness Rock we passed by we decided it was time to head over to our assigned site. 912. We were very pleased. This was our home last year and it worked wonderfully for us. :yay: If you’re reading along Princess Nana… sorry. I know now that you really wanted that one. Good luck to you on your next trip. Here I am videoing and snapping photos of our trek to Quail Trail. Here we are at 912.This isn’t our cart beside the 912 marker. We would NEVER let our tires come off the pad that way. After arriving in our site we still hadn’t heard from Kenny so we decided to call. He finally got back to us and had been trying to reach us as well. I knew there had to be a reason. Kenny is always dependable. Just so happened he was already in our loop picking up another cart. How convenient! H talked him into just bringing that one over and not to bother washing it. We’d dirty it up in no time anyway. He said we could keep that one for a few days and that he would be bringing a better one to exchange for us. COOL! He came through and brought one with a full roof. SCORE! That is a big deal to those of us who ride on the back. Here is Kenny cart #1 and our set up.Before we head out on our super fast Kenny cart I had to make sure that our identifying signs were out. Wouldn’t want to be overlooked by any fiends. Now, with everything set up and a cart in the driveway it was time to get out there and start having fun! As promised we decided to take the boys to Downtown Disney so they could explore the Lego Store. (lil H REALLY likes Legos and Lego Wii games.)The fellas entering DTD.H brought me here and said I could pick out a new ride. Isn‘t he sweet? :rofl2:Random photosI thought this was pretty impressive! We're not flying... we're falling with style. The fellas seemed to really like the next sculpture.I can't say that I blame them either. A sea serpent made of legos is very remarkable!Gabe checking out his hero.Lil H enjoyed making his own car and racing it down the ramp. :)Since we’re at WDW in July… why not pose for a Christmas photo? Sounds reasonable to me!It really doesn’t take much to make me smile. I got a kick out of the Mickey brake lights. Why haven’t I noticed these before? Our bus stop.Well our day at Downtown Disney is complete. I’m not sure if there are more photos from Day 1 on another memory card or not. If not then we probably went back to FW, ate, looped, and went to bed because our first full day is Magic Kingdom and we needed our rest.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Day 2 6/28/11After having a good night’s rest it is necessary for us to head to Magic Kingdom for our first full day of theme park fun.Notice the dark clouds at the marina. This will be a recurring theme throughout this report. Unfortunately we didn’t have many of those beautiful blue sky days for picture taking. The trade off for having temps that weren’t as bad as they could have been made it worth having dark vacay pics. Since this is our first boat ride to MK… here is our obligatory pic of the Discovery Island Shipwreck. You knew it had to be done. H and I visited DI on our honeymoon. ♥ Still makes me sad that it’s in ruins but I won’t dwell on it… moving on..On our ride across Bay Lake we see this adventurous person. I wanted to parasail this trip but it never happened. Hopefully one day.One day I hope to not need a bag in the parks. These security lines cramp my style. Not to mention the screaming, whining and complaining that happens because we have to be here instead of the entrance line. The kids aren’t crazy about it either. :rofl2:ETA: Hey! I just noticed I'm in this photo. I'm right behind the lady in the sunglasses and black sandals. Two people to the left of the lamp post. Looks like I'm trying to get my stuff ready for inspection. We took a few pics of the Train station and Main Street coming in but they aren’t that great and we took hundreds more on other days so I’ll hold out and post those instead. The first thing on the agenda…every time.. Our shortcut through Tomorrowland Terrace to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. It’s like the elephant walk. There can be no deviation to this route without a massive meltdown. So on we go..(Remember I told you to get used to the backside of KFK pics. Sorry, blame H.)Next on our Elephant Walk Tour of Tomorrow land (EWTOT): The Peoplemover and then Carousel of Progress. We like the C.O.P. but believe it or not the kids love it. They actually pull us in by our arms. Comfy seats and A/C… it’s good with me. (The pics I took here aren’t great but there are tons from other days.)While we were on the Peoplemover it started to rain. Hard. So we lucked out to be out of the rain for a while. But not long enough..With our EWTOT complete we starting making our way toward Fantasyland. Between the rain and kids we weren’t sure what we were going to do next.I think Lou was right. Seeing the one of a kind Disney Transport bus with the Mickey ear brake lights must have been good luck because over the course of a 15 night stay at WDW we avoided this:Last year the Winnie the Pooh ride was being redone. The results, I think, are awesome!Little H and Gabe really wanted to ride so we decided to let this be our last attraction of the morning. A little Fort time under the awning was sounding pretty inviting by now so I snapped a few photos of the new expansion…at least what I could see on our way out. I was wishing I were taller right about then. JLil’ H really wanted to ride on the front of the boat back to the Fort. I’m game. Not a fan of the dark clouds but I’ll take one for the kid.Now Gabe will NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES allow you to put a poncho on him. I know some of you may be thinking “If he were MY kid he’d be in that poncho!” My response: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2: In the attempt not to look like Gabe was the poor neglected one I didn’t wear a poncho either. I’m not sure if these were taken going, coming or going back but I always have a flood of memories passing by here. I won’t dwell or get sappy… yet.It was really too rainy to take the kids out looping so we hung around the campsite hoping the rain would slow down a little so we could go back to MK that evening. It did. I’ll post pics in the next installment. PureTcrazy...rita

Total Joker ... TJ 203
Before moving on …This was taken at the end of our morning EWTOT. (For those of you who may be just joining us or missed it earlier. This is the Elephant Walk Tour of Tomorrowland.) Lil H is pro poncho. The hood has to be on and the side snaps must be fastened. JBack to MK for an evening of rainy fun.Apparently we didn’t do very much this evening or at least I didn’t take many photos. If I find any I’ll post them later. I never promised this TR would go perfectly in order. LOL! We did head over for another EWTOT … that’s Buzz, Peoplemover then Carousel of Progress…. then to Adventureland for Pirates of the Carribean but I’m not sure what else we did. There are no photos to jog my memory. Maybe I should start taking supplements. Oh! I remember now! The kids were cranky, especially Gabe. So in order to settle things down fast we went straight to Philharmagic when we got there. Great choice. It got everyone in a good mood and we were ready to roll. THEN went over for our EWTOT. I know all of this sounds like a lot of running around and wasted time but with things the way they are sometimes we just gotta do what we’ve gotta do. I’d walk to nearly any lengths to avoid the meltdowns. :DHere’s lil H in P.O.T.C.And a shot of Cinderella Castle at dusk as we were leaving the park.Next up: Hollywood Studios and a full day of Fortin’ around. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Day 4 Fiddle Fortin’ Around Thursday 6/30 How do you spell relax?F-O-R-T W-I-L-D-E-R-N-E-S-SAhhhhhhh!!!! We’ve been on the go a pretty good bit since our arrival so this seemed like a great day to chill out and avoid theme parks altogether.H took off on our super fast Kenny Cart on a solo mio GC excursion. Here are a few photos from his solo ride. When he got back he found me outside on the phone with KFM and thought it would be ok to snap a photo of me in my jammies before my morning coffee.Look closely at my expression and you'll see that it was NOT ok. :rofl2:Here’s our view of the 800 loop from under the awning. After I’m done conversing with KFM on the phone it’s time to get some breakfast going. Anyone in the mood for bacon? What is it about bacon when you’re camping? YUMMMMMMY!!!Remember I said that Kenny would be switching our carts? We have no idea when he came but he just left GC #2 without switching them. That’s why there are two Kenny carts in our driveway. He did pick it up later. Check out the full roof! That was very nice for Gabe and I in the sun and rain. We’re usually burning alive or soaking wet! JGabe is waiting patiently on the bacon.H apparently snuck off into the woods and took another pic of me cooking breakfast. If you’re ever at a GG with me….it’s very likely you will catch me cooking outside in my jammies. After we’re finished with breakfast it’s time to hit the FW trail. While I’m inside getting ready to head out I peeked out the window and saw this…..Lil H entertaining himself with his cap pistol until we’re ready to go.COME ON ALREADY! Gabe is losing patience….Coming up… more from our day of fortin’ around.
