BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Parks blog. Love the old construction photo! Vintage Walt Disney World: Building the Eiffel Tower posted on July 14th, 2011 by Nate Rasmussen, Archivist, Marketing Resource Center Today is Bastille Day in France, so to mark the occasion I thought it would be fun to take a look back at an early construction photo of our very own version of France in Epcot‘s World Showcase. In the photo below, the pavilion is beginning to take shape back in December 1981. The France Pavilion’s architecture is representative of a vast majority of France’s history from the 1600s through the 1900s. One of the most famous landmarks in Paris, the Eiffel Tower, was reconstructed at Epcot at 1/10 scale of the original and stretches 103 feet into the air. Obviously, any trip to the France Pavilion with me will almost certainly include a stop at the Boulangerie Pâtisserie for a chocolate croissant. Delicious!]
