Scott6809 0 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Share Posted July 5, 2011 We are going from MA to the Fort. We are taking 91S to 84W to 81S to 77S to 26E to 95S, 9A then back to 95. Our first stop Candy Hill campground http://www.candyhill.com/. It's nice, staff is very friendly, restrooms are clean. You can hear the highway, but it didn't really bother us. I did see other Fort Fiends members as we visited all the loops in the WDW Golf Cart ($68 per day). Dixie Caverns Campground http://www.dixiecaverns.com/Staff very friendly, our site had water/electric/sewer/catv/ and they have free wi-fi as well. The park is old and has seasonal trailers that are very old and looked pretty beat up, bathrooms were clean, you could hear highway traffic since it ran across the backside of campground. The store was limited to knick knacks, tee shirts and hats no food or camping supplies that I could find, but the grocery store and a walmart were only about 10min away for that kind of stuff.Out of all 3 sites I would say Candy Hill is a very good site and I would recommend that campground.
