The Hockey game starts at 1 and ussualy lasts a few hours, so Ill be at the site watching that. We avoided DHS like the plauge today. It was a mad house I heard. I did see pics of Bob Iger and George Lucas there though. We are going to attempt Sunday as our SWW day.

devores 382
Its time for the first installment. This is my first attempt at a live TR, so bear with me a bit. So, we arrived around 130 this afternoon and were #2 in lane 1. It was not that bad checking, just had a chatty CM that made it take a little longer than normal. We were able to get 50% our site which was great. We were assigned 411 in Jackwagon Run. This is our second time staying in the 400 and rather like it. 600 and 700 are still my favorite though. We get the site set up and the pixi dust started to fall, it only took me 10 min to set up the sattalite dish and get a good signal. We decided to get a snack and walk down to the Outpost. It was HOT and HUMID today. So a couple of Mickey bars hit the spot.We had to eat them quick so I couldnt get any pics, but believe me, they were good.DW had to work tonight so she left around 5 which gave me a chance to explore. I ussualy do not get to explore the fort much as she gets tired and whines after a couple of loops. So I had the whole evening to do what I wanted.I started out heading down the 700 loop. I knew there were some fiends there and was hoping to meet them.No 700 report would be complete without a look at Hilda's site.Is it me, or does her site lok a little lacking? It is ussualy full of great stuff. But it seems to lack that Hilda touch. I also noticed a for sale sign in the window.I found the fiend's sites,But no one was home.I cruise through every single loop. Along the way I find some interesting things. Like thisin the 200 loop. Or thisNot sure whats up with the boat, but it appears to be used a camping vessel. It was plugged into the electric. Why else would you plug in your boat unless your using it for something. Maybe that is where they put the kids?I am not going to plagerize TCD's real man of genious award, but this guy would be a contender. He has a blow up pool at his site. I mean, its no blow up manger scene, but its pretty odd. Maybe he got tired of fighting the locals at the pool. I never noticed this before, but there is a barrel at the entrance of the 400 loop now.It is completly sealed shut, so it is not a trash can, and it is heavy (yes I tried to move it). Not usre of the exact reason for this barrel. Maybe I should put a tap on it and see if it is filled with whiskey.I make my way around to the 300 loop and decide to take a look at the canal behind it.I love the view here. But what is that horrible noise disturbing the tranquel atmospher? They had this pump set up draining water from the canal into bay lake. While here, I check out the cabin. I rarely get ovr here, this is only my second time, so was finaly able to get some shots of it.And the view from here is amazingI have never tried it, but this would be a great place to view the fireworks. I may try it one night. You miss out on the soundtrack, but you can barely here it at the beach anyway.Just the right of the cabin is this interesting areaI pull out my Jr TCD badge and contenplate for a bit, then off into the woods. Im not sure if this area has been reported on before, but there is a trail that leads off into the woods. It is kind of narrow and the foilage is thick, but there is definetly a trail you can follow. Where does it go?The trail gets narrower and narrower as I go on. I ditch my bike here and trudge on on foot. I gotta see where this goes. After 15 mins, I find what is at the end of the mysterious trail. Nothing. Not having packed my machete, this is where my adventure ends. So I go back and pick up my bike and move on.Now, this story has no pics, nor did I care to have any, but is worth telling. While looping through the 1300 loop, which is completly empty, I come upon a GC stopped in the dead center of the road. In it, so I thought, was one man. As I get closer, I notice there are two people in the GC, one man and one woman. Why did I not see the woman before? Lets just say she was ensuring her husband was enjoying the GC ride, if you know what I mean. She would have said hello Im sure, if her mouth wasnt full. When I roll up, her head quicklys pops up from his lap, he struggles to pull his pants up, and the take off quickly with embarrased looks on thier face. I saw them a couple of more time tonight, but they always turn to go another direction when they notice me. While heading out to the check in area, I notice these guys hanging out. Not sure why. They were just sitting there. We all seem to have allot of pics of CMs sitting around at the fort.....On the way, there has always been an area I wanted to check out. It is the hill just behind the hitch/unhitch area. I noticed activity back there before but never did venture over the hill. But today was a different story. What is back there?Wood. Thats whats back there. Not very exciting, but now I know.At the check in area a line is forming. This line had campers waitng out past the guard shack and down the entry road into the fort.I cant remember the picture count limits, but thats 22 pics, and its only day one and Im not done. It is ussualy full of great stuff. But it seems to lack that Hilda touch. I also noticed a for sale sign in the window. You are off to a great start! When I was there in April, I'm pretty sure Hilda mentioned she is going to be purchasing a new 5th wheel. Can't wait for more. devores 382
Good, a fresh page. Still today......I decide to head to another area I rarely get to. The cabins. While riding past the cabin pool area, I see they are refurbising it. There are construction vehicles all over the area and workers behind a green privacey fence.I find this interestingIm not sure if you can rent these or if they brought it with them, but its a novel idea to get around the fort.Since I do not get to the cabin area too often, I never did notice this "CM Area" before. I assume its Mousekeeping, but not sure. In the 2000 loop, I find thisYou can see it is securely chained to the grill, I can hear it now. The little grill is saying "Daddy?"You may have heard about the fire at the fort reported by 3B. Well, the road is still closed as you exit the 2000 loopThe yellow hose behind the car extends all the way down the road, as far as I could see, and dissapeared around a curve. After this, I headed back to the site. I decided to swing by the 700 one last time to see if I could meet the fiends harrasing that loop. As luck would have it, 3B was home. As we were talking, campingmommy pulls up. So I got to meet 2 fiends today. I hear rumour there are a couple more terrorizing the fort, so I will look for them tommorow.I will leave you with some pics from around the fort.

Otter Spotter aka Debbie 58
You're doing a great job, Dave!! If my memory serves me correctly, the path next to the little cabin beyond 300 is part of the old Wilderness Swamp Trail. I hiked it once back in the early 80's. Mr. TCD will correct me if I'm wrong - but I think that's it. And you are correct in your assumption about the fireworks viewing from that spot. It's spectacular! On nights when they have the hay ride the Wishes soundtrack is piped in from the little cabin - or at least - it used to be.I have seen boats used as campers many times at the Fort, but they are usually bigger & have a cabin. It would be interesting to see how people are camping in an open boat. Maybe they are the exhibitionists you saw in 1300? I have to say - that took a LOT of guts to try and pull that one off. (Lorena Bobbit practice?) :rofl2: You have earned your TCD Jr. Deputy Badge! :bravo:

DaveInTN 3,247
Wow, who knew 1300 was the Fort's own red light district? Like our very own "Down"-town Disney. Maybe it should be renamed Humdinger Hollow. :rofl2: parrothead7368 aka Norm
