BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
This is a bit of a surprise. Quote BREAKING: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Reopening Delayed Until Summer 2021 Walt Disney World has just announced the delayed reopening of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort through Summer 2021. The following statement was just released to travel agents regarding the delay: As we continue to reopen additional Disney Resort hotels to Guests, we are modifying the reopening date for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which will reopen next summer. This schedule adjustment also allows us to complete some refurbishment work at the Resort hotel, including enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House and Guest rooms. We expect work to begin in early October and look forward to sharing more about these changes in the future. The Villas and Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain open during this refurbishment. We understand the amount of planning that goes into a Disney vacation and we are reaching out to you about your clients with upcoming reservations that are impacted by these changes, at least four weeks before their arrival. Our Cast Members will be able to assist with modifying their reservations to other Disney Resort hotels. The resort, slated for an October 4 reopening after being initially postponed from August 12, is currently open with limited operations for guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows as part of the DVC reopening. https://wdwnt.com/2020/08/breaking-disneys-polynesian-village-resort-reopening-delayed-until-summer-2021/?fbclid=IwAR0xodEq158uRKoXG3PrUjpMHSQN2m40nbYeozqAVcVJ66f6999ZcyPxd5c

Quote News! The Monorail Station at Disney’s Polynesian Resort Will Be Closing Temporarily Later This Year! By Kelly Scott Leave a Comment We’ve seen lots of news related to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort announced lately. Earlier today, we shared that the resort would remain closed until 2021. We also learned that the Polynesian’s guest rooms will soon be receiving a Moana-inspired makeover. Now, we’ve got some news about the monorail station at the Polynesian. Please stand clear of the doors. Taking a trip around Disney World on the Monorail? One entire Monorail station will soon be closing. We chatted with a Cast Member on the Disney World website earlier today who confirmed that, beginning in October of this year, the Monorail station at the Polynesian will be closed. We were also able to find some further confirmation of this on the Disney website for the Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Screenshot from the Disney World Website The Cast Member we spoke to said that it looked like the Monorail station at the Polynesian may be closed for the rest of the year. One of the big perks of staying at resorts like the Polynesian, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is having access to the Monorail. The Ticket and Transportation Center is a fairly short walk away from the Polynesian though, so guests would have access to the Monorail that way While some spots in the Polynesian, like ‘Ohana, remain closed for now, other spots like Tambu Lounge and Kona Cafe are currently open. Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are also open. Update: The Disney Resort Hotels: Know Before You Go website has been updated to reflect the transportation options available to guests staying at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. Specifically, the website notes that bus transportation will be available from the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows to Magic Kingdom beginning in early October 2020. Water taxis, however, are not available from the Resort to Magic Kingdom. Additionally, the website notes that the walkway to the Transportation and Ticket Center will remain open and guests will be able to access the monorail and ferry boats to Magic Kingdom from there. We’re definitely keeping an eye out for more news about closures and reopenings around Disney World. We’ll keep you informed on the latest! https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2020/08/31/news-the-monorail-station-at-disneys-polynesian-resort-will-be-closing-temporarily-later-this-year/?fbclid=IwAR27dyH4215QMRMXpLpYRZO5yqHpgAHdajD4aLYW0y6Px87wKZtnHgJ-c7c
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
These are smart moves on Disney’s part, but it stinks for the Polynesian DVC guests. Disney always wins. TCD
