AuburnJen 777
Pictures of Tri Circle D Ranch completion. https://wdwnt.com/2020/05/photos-first-look-at-new-tri-circle-d-ranch-at-disneys-fort-wilderness-resort-campground/ Quote WDWNT’s photographer friend @bioreconstruct took to the sky to show us the newly-completed Tri-Circle-D Ranch, which was rebuilt as an initial part of the expansion ongoing at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground for the upcoming Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge. Image Credit: @bioreconstruct on Twitter Imagineers have redesigned the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, which will offer a modern stable and updated outdoor spaces and facilities for “The Happiest Horses on Earth.” The new ranch will maintain the history and spirit of the original Tri-Circle-D, welcoming guests to explore exhibits of classic Disney equestrian artifacts, some of which date back to the 1950s! Image Credit: @bioreconstruct on Twitter There appears to be a completed walking path in front of the stables, and if you look closely, you can spot a few white horses, possibly ponies, near the stables. Can you spot them in this zoomed-in image below? Could they be Cinderella’s Ponies? Image Credit: @bioreconstruct on Twitter The ranch houses nearly 100 horses in a wide range of breeds, including Appaloosas, Arabians, Belgians, Clydesdales, paint horses, Percherons, and quarter horses, as well as the aforementioned Shetland ponies. The horses are used for horse-drawn carriage rides, wagon rides, horseback riding lessons, pony rides, and during the holiday season, sleigh rides at the resort. Image Credit: @bioreconstruct on Twitter The new ranch is part of a major expansion plan of the area behind Disney’s Fort Wilderness Lodge & Campground, which was formerly a water park called River Country. Last month, we reported that construction has continued on the site, despite most of the Walt Disney Resort remaining closed because of the novel coronavirus. While nothing has been confirmed, we may be able to ascertain that the new location of the Tri-Circle D Ranch will encourage guests of the both resorts to utilize this area for various activities. djsamuel
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From WDWNT... Quote Megan Bresnan·June 18, 2020·2 min read PHOTOS, VIDEO: First Look Inside NEW Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground; Baby Foal Named “Violet” Born Newly-appointed Walt Disney World Resort President Jeff Vahle has taken to Instagram to show us inside and around the newly-completed Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We’d recently gotten an aerial look down at the new ranch as horses had just begun acclimating to the new space, but now let’s take a look around: Jeff Vahle wrote the following caption for the post on his Instagram: Met with some incredible Cast Members who are busy getting the NEW barn at Tri-Circle-D Ranch ready to welcome guests on Monday. Always love seeing our Cast take such great care of our horses, including our newest addition—a baby foal named “Violet”—who was born here a couple weeks ago. Nice also to see the horses escort the Dragon Calliope to its new home today. This iconic piece of Disney heritage has a rich history at both @Disneyland and WDW. Know it’s a guest favorite! As mentioned by Vahle in his post, Tri-Circle-D Ranch is set to reopen next Monday on June 22 along with Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The redesigned the Tri-Circle-D Ranch will offer a modern stable and updated outdoor spaces and facilities for “The Happiest Horses on Earth.” Here, we see the tiny, yet mighty baby Violet, a foal that was recently born at the ranch. On the Walt Disney Cast and Community Facebook page, a video was shared showing the newborn foal, Violet, bonding with its mother Elsa: The new ranch will also include a museum-like space, maintaining the history and spirit of the original Tri-Circle-D, welcoming guests to explore exhibits of classic Disney equestrian artifacts, some of which date back to the 1950s! Here, we see the Dragon Calliope, an authentic circus wagon that was purchased by Walt Disney himself back in the 1950s for use in the short-lived Mickey Mouse Club Circus parade at Disneyland. The Calliope went on to appear at Disneyland parades until the park’s 25th anniversary. It was eventually repainted silver and blue for Walt Disney World’s Tencennial in 1981, and featured in multiple parades and Christmas broadcasts before retiring to the former Tri-Circle-D Ranch location. It has since also been moved to the new ranch! https://wdwnt.com/2020/06/photos-video-first-look-inside-new-tri-circle-d-ranch-at-disneys-fort-wilderness-resort-baby-foal-named-violet-born/?fbclid=IwAR19hSI1Kbj03lVtNkDZGC1YmV9GLQIJScckXOdC5chlBgVj889eK5erZxc Tri-Circle-D

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Well, this thread isn’t going to go in the direction that I thought it would. As we now know, the Lakeside DVC construction has stopped. I took these photos on March 11, 2020 right before the shutdown. This work was going on in the area of the old River Country entrance: If you take a good look at those photos, you can see men working in the excavated areas. You can also see Discovery Island and the MK boat cruising by on Bay Lake. These next photos were taken last week, on July 18, 2020. These first two show the paved path between Crockett’s Tavern on the left and what we used to know as Clementine’s Beach on the right: Unfortunately, it looks like that is how Disney intends to leave things for the immediate future. These next photos show the same area depicted in the first three photos. Everything has been abandoned, and the grass and weeds are already taking over: The March photos were taken right before the shutdown was announced. There were initially reports that the DVC construction was going on during the shutdown. I thought I’d have some cool before and after photos to share once they reopened. But, now I think all I will have is photos of the weeds growing. TCD BradyBzLyn...Mo
ImDownWithDisney 342
I wish they would at least push the fences back toward the old sidewalk to Clementine's. It is such an eyesore from the porch. If they did that and put in a few rows of Leyland cypress trees it would look way better.
kadancer 82
This really is a low blow. It was one thing to let River Country decay tucked away in a corner, but to letting a perfectly good beach decay in full view everyday and obstructing beautiful views with unnecessary fencing is really insulting..... I agree. Check out these shots of the beach taken from the boat dock: Weeds and grass are already covering the sand. I can’t imagine that any manager will authorize spending money to restore and reopen the beach. Such a shame. TCD BradyBzLyn...Mo

keith_h 420
Nothing says nature like silt barriers and dirt piles. Disney could at least clean up the beach and do something to screen the dirt piles. Oh and maybe a more tasteful color for the silt barriers if they have to leave them up. The idea of a massive new resort was bad enough to begin with and now just leaving everything is one big mess is so depressing. Just another reason to not go back, more of Disney management's style now. Thank you TCD
