All construction walls have been removed from the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. After watching Imagineers ride the Disney Skyliner gondola system this morning, we made our way inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios to find that temporary planters have replaced construction walls at the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge entrance on Grand Avenue.

These planters are as far as guests can walk, but a zoom lens and creative angles can reveal a bit more.

Beyond the planters, invited Cast Members can be seen checking in their phones before entering the land. There is still a strict no photography rule inside the land.

You’ll notice that some subway tiles (right) have been added to the general theme of “concrete” for the Grand Avenue tunnel.

Eventually, the concrete tunnel turns into a rock tunnel as you make your way into Batuu.

With just the right angle, you can see a few steps into Batuu from the Muppets Courtyard.

Overall, while the lack of construction walls is exciting, there probably isn’t much more going on in view.

That said, we don’t even have to go past the planters to know what awaits. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be largely the same as the Disneyland version, save for some layout adjustments to make it fit into a slightly different area.

For a fully immersive walk through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, check out our 360-degree full walk-through of the land. In the walk-through, we’ll explore every angle of the new land as well as the three unique entrances found at the Disneyland version of Batuu.

If you’re keeping an eye out for soft openings of the land, it seems very unlikely. Starting on August 1st, general Cast Member previews of the land begin and run through August 16th. As an aside, the Cast Members invited to preview the land today are generally “on the clock” Cast Members who work at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The previews in August are for all Cast Members from around property who signed up a few days ago.

After Cast Member previews end on the 16th, Annual Passholder previews start on the 17th and run through the 21st. A few days of media previews follow before the land opens to the public officially on August 29th.
