Cheftjpeck 6
Ok so went to book our Halloween 2020 trip and noticed a new category , they now have Premium Meadow Sites ? Run about $10 more vs Premium Sites ? Anyone know yet what loops these are in ? We are big fans of Little Bear path but not sure if it’s part of that or what loops ? On a related note how can they already not have availability 10/25/2020-11/2/2020 ? Online booking just opened up ? I even called to try and book to no avail ? That’s insane

That’s insane No confirmed word yet on which loops. Technically we can only book to 10/29 as the 499 days to check out rule still applies. There were some glitches that allowed some bookings to get through though but it seems closed now.

So if you are going to go to the Fort for a two week period and are trying to book 499 days out, their current system will only let you book the 2 weeks when the last day hits the 499 day mark. So that means while you are waiting for that last day to clear, the sites can be filled up by people booking shorter stays that fall within the 499 day time frame. I'm trying to figure out if this makes any sense or if its a good or bad way of doing it. So I guess that's why some people have 14 different reservations, one day at a time? I have had some time to reflect on this one while on hold and other things the last day. Many of the people I book at the Fort have specifically requested close to the Meadows. Over and over again. So I make the request. Not everyone can have that request though. So now there is a category for it. If you are booked in the category you are getting the proximity. If you are not you dont have to wait until you get there to be disappointed they couldnt meet your request. Just my two cents on it.

Cheftjpeck 6
Figured it would include our favorite 1400 loop big bear little bear .. we prefer little bear .. we always request that loop .. didn’t get last two visits though .. we booked our January 2020 trip in meadows premium and will book our subsequent trips in 2020 in there when available .. it’s a shame as this is purely a money grab and actually shrinks down the amount of true premium sites available ... what’s next Disney ? I mean March 1-May you are getting $200 per night for a premium site ?? That’s crazy for campsites .. heck with passholder and Florida resident discounts resort rooms are cheaper :. Some villas are just a couple bucks more .. I still love me some Ft Wilderness but they are making it less and less attractive :. taking away amenities , cheapening fun stuff , not maintaining the area as they did but increasing prices to hotel room rates uggghh ..... We are going to French Quarter for 4th of July for $103 a night. 3 nights with taxes and 3rd party fees it came to $379. Just as cheap or cheaper than a partial site. Yes we will be in a hotel room and can't cook our own food, but we also wont have to fold up a soggy PUP or wade thru a flooded site. For a 3 day stay it's really not worth setting up and breaking down a tent or PUP, by the time you can check in and the time they eject you from the site. LONE-STAR 370
Well I have said it before, Disney wants people on vacation not weekend campers. People on vacation will pay extra for stuff, weekend campers bring there own beer and burgers. So if you weekend camp at Disney you will pay like it's vacation. The one that gets me is charging a person to park at a resort they are staying at. It's not like parking is in short supply.

Not all of us on vacation pay lots extra for stuff. One of the reasons for the trailer is to bring our own food and I'm always sure to have enough microbrews to last the week. For me it really comes down to if WDW is worth the premium compared to other things we can do. It is getting to the point with the monetization of guest perks, constant price increases and overcrowded parks WDW just isn't worth the premium for a couple of older folks. Luckily they arent charging (or shouldnt be according to everything I have heard) for a camper and 1 vehicle for campsites.
kadancer 82
Is parking actually being charged now? Last summer we thought we would have to pay for parking for our one night in the cabin, but it was not charged. We also travel in two vehicles - one to pull the hybrid and one to pull the golf cart. Will we have to pay for one of the vehicles this time? I like to avoid surprises of that affect my pocketbook...
