michelb 3
I didn't see this posted anywhere so figured I'd add it here. Mousesavers.com recently posted the 2019 prices for Disney Resorts (including Fort Wilderness). The full link is available here but I'll try to post the data (not sure how the formatting will come out). Seems kind of crazy to see $200+ / night for Premiums at peak period. BradyBzLyn...Mo

AuburnJen 777
I am getting so old. I remember when I could go every month there and camp and still have money in my bank account...
keith_h 420
It wouldn't be too bad if they would let me use the 25% off codes they keep sending me for a campsite. We decided after the last price hike that WDW would become an every other year thing for us. Too many other places to visit that are a lot cheaper and allow us to get a couple of longer trips in for less money.
Travisma 1,317
I know it's not camping, but if you do your research, you can find Disney Resorts on the various 3rd party booking sites (Travelocity, Hotwire, etc) for the same price or a little more than a partial hookup site. No you can't have 10 people and smoke your meat, but for a quick stay they can't be beat. And if you wanted to eat in, I guess you could go out to your RV and dine in the parking lot. We found a partial site for tonight 7/3 and with taxes it was going to be about $110 -115 and a lot of work to set up, break down and brave the elements for 1 night. My wife did a little digging and we ended up at Riverside for $130 total for tonight. I know it's not the Fort, but we are going to try and get in tomorrow for the cart parade. See, that is the problem with us. We decided to book rooms for short stays now (weekends) and not have the camper because honestly unless we are going to be there a while, it is not going to be worth it. I am sure it was their goal all along to make the campground equal to the rooms. Now that they have accomplished this feat, it doesn't make sense for the weekend trips. I don't like the RV's sitting, but they certainly will be used elsewhere.

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
We no longer do short trips to the Fort in the camper, it's just too much work and too much money, BUT for our longer Halloween trip, we do still justify the Fort. It fits in with our touring style. Which is to hang at the Fort in the mornings either looping, cooking a good breakfast, just chilling running our mouths with other Fiends, and then spending 3-4 hours in the parks in the afternoon, then dinner out. We just don't feel comfy just "hanging out" at any of the other resorts rooms.
kadancer 82
Since we work in education, we must have our trip in the summer. I am finally seeing a reason to be happy that we endure the August heat.
