Travisma 1,317
From www.inquisitr.com MAGIC KINGDOM IS CLOSING VERY EARLY ON NOVEMBER 30TH AND ALL GUESTS WILL NEED TO BE OUT OF THE PARK BY 4:30 While Disney is always wanting to bring the best to their guests, they are not going to forget the people that make it all happen – Cast Members. On Nov. 30, Magic Kingdom will indeed close at 4:30 p.m. for all guests as the Walt Disney World Resort holds its cast celebration event. As reported by Blog Mickey, this event will celebrate milestones and all of the hard work that cast members have reached and delivered. It’s a very simple explanation as to why the park is closing so early, but many people vacationing at WDW may not realize it. They may not have checked the schedule of park hours and it will leave them wondering why everything is closing at Magic Kingdom before the sun even goes down. The good thing is that the other theme parks will be open for guests to enjoy on Nov. 30. Epcot: 9 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. with Extra Magic Hours from 8-9 a.m. Disney’s Hollywood Studios: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Disney’s Animal Kingdom: 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Typhoon Lagoon: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Disney Springs: 10 a.m. – 12 a.m. With Magic Kingdom closing at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30, that also means there will be no fireworks for guests that night. The cast member celebration is something that is great for all those working at Walt Disney World and it is a chance for their unique milestones and accomplishments to be honored. Yes, the park is closing early on this day, but it’s for a good reason and the hours have been known for months so it shouldn’t be a huge surprise. Good for Disney taking care of their employees! BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
We had a great bartender at Geyser Point Tuesday night who's hit 25 years and is looking forward to the party. We made a note to get to the beach by 9:30 to check out the special fireworks.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
FYI tonight's party is a "Service Recognition" party for CM's with 10 or more year's working for Disney. It's not for all CM's. They have this party annually, and the venue moves around. In recent history, it was mostly hosted at DHS. But, there's so much closed and torn up there that they had to move it to the MK. It's a very nice party with lots of food and open bars. Yup, hard liquor in the Magic Kingdom tonight. To heck with that old dead guy who was against that. TCD

The food is amazing, and reception the cast members get is wonderful. When we would go, they would bring you in on buses and drop you on a red carpet lined with people applauding. Really a special time. My wife's 10 year was at the Contemporary and they had several bands, different rooms with varying types of food, ice pool tables, and more. The parties at Studios were great because they used to set up the dining tables in the middle of the Osborne lights; so you would eat with all of that around you. They had different bands, different food stations and characters all over the place with photographers. The fireworks were great too, especially the ones that would explode into 10, 15, 20, 25 and up to the highest number. We've seen people with 50 years in who came from California. There was some liquor, but not too much, and it never seemed to get out of hand.

Your mention of the red carpet reminded me that one of my daughters signed up to work the Cast Recognition Party back when she was doing her Disney College Program. She was paid to stand along the red carpet and applaud. LOL TCD djsamuel
