marshl 0
Will be camping for the first time at Fort Wilderness next November, would like suggestions for preferred sites in loops that offer the most privacy between sites and that are not near water. Any suggestions?

ftwildernessguy 778
The Fort is built on a reclaimed cypress swamp. There is water everywhere. Most likely hurricane Irma took care of a good bit of the vegetation which offered privacy. Your best bet may be the 3000 loop. fladogfan aka Gretchen, Tri-Circle-D and BradyBzLyn...Mo 1

Any suggestions? Sorry you haven't gotten a ton of replies - Irma put a crimp in a lot of things the last week or so. We've got a page with maps, links to videos of all loops, and the Fort Fiends mobile app that might help you pick a loop that works best. Check it out here... But FWG is probably right about vegetation. I'm betting Irma took out a bunch too, so sites that may have been pretty private before, might not be now. I expect we'll hear/see a lot more about how the Fort fared in the coming weeks/months.
