Capturing the spirit of present-day Downtown Los Angeles, the new Grand Avenue area will take the place of what is left of the Streets of America, and will showcase vintage office buildings and warehouses representing the different vibrant districts and cultures of the city. One prominent hot spot to spring up is the Baseline Tap House, a cheerful corner pub specializing in beer and wines from California. In a quaint brick building, Baseline Tap House celebrates the revitalization of Downtown Los Angeles by paying homage to the building’s former life as the Figueroa Printing Company, a mom-and-pop print house that had ties to the Disney studios in nearby Burbank. The space retains many of its cool architectural and mechanical details with exposed walls and old printing equipment and artifacts, blending the past and present in an inviting space. Outside is a charming tree-shaded terrace, perfect for a relaxing break in the day.California craft ales, lagers and cider are the stars of the drink menu. California wines on tap along with specialty cocktails are not to be missed either. A gourmet non-alcoholic lemonade and soda on tap round out the drink selection. Small bites will be on offer, including a Bavarian pretzel with mustard and beer-cheese fondue, spiced almonds or a charcuterie board featuring California cheeses. An opening date in the fall of 2017 is planned.

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
It's interesting to me that this new pub and the surrounding area will have a California theme. It's been over two years since Disney announced that Hollywood Studios would be getting a new name: http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-disney-hollywood-studios-new-name-20150312-story.html There have been 2 D23 Expos since then, and the new name and theme haven't been mentioned. This new area having a vintage California theme makes me wonder if that new name and new theme idea has been abandoned. TCD
keith_h 420
The California theme might be a move for it to eventually become a California Adventure.

ftwildernessguy 778
It was always our tradition on Studios day to start out at the Writers Stop for a coffee a carrot cake cookie. We used to love to sit at a table by the window and make fun of the people walking by. Just memories now.
lightbikes 73
We have come to the conclusion that our liking/enjoying anything at WDW is "the kiss of death" for whatever it is. Be it a particular coffee shop, a favourite item on a menu, a favourite wine or drink, a show, a parade, or a fireworks show. If we like it, guarantee it's a goner!! I'm going to go with the statement that there are some of us; your oldest daughter included, who have excellent, very discrimating taste. The problem is NOT with us, but with the rest of the world. And that's going to be my storey going forward! Travisma and keith_h

AuburnJen 777
Not that you wanted to see this, but here you go... http://blogmickey.com/2017/08/photo-baseline-tap-house-theming-slowly-revealed/ Quote Theming for BaseLine Tap House, the new corner pub coming to Grand Avenue, has been revealed thanks to some of the scaffolding being removed. Weathered brick and molding elements that mimic the Grand Avenue buildings can be seen. Also seen just over the construction wall is a portion of a walkway theming element. According to Imagineers, the space used to be the Figueroa Printing Company, which was a mom-and-pop print house that had ties to the Disney studios in nearby Burbank. The space will retain many of the exposed walls and old printing equipment from its early days. When compared to the old Writers Stop structure, BaseLine Tap House will retain the corner window and a single entrance. The side entrance nearest Sci-Fi Dine-In has been walled over. Here’s a look at Writer’s Stop, just before it was walled off. BaseLine Tap House will open this fall.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
It looks like this new place isn't going to be any bigger than the Writer's Stop. Here's a piece of concept art from WDWMAGIC: http://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/baseline-tap-house/gallery/27jul2017-baseline-tap-house-concept-art.htm Those double doors on the right are the secret passageway to the Sci Fi Diner hallway (and how the TCD gang used to sneak into the Osborne Lights without having to walk around the long way on busy nights). The bar is placed on the wall where the bookshelves used to be, and you can see that it isn't very long. I'll bet that couple on the right is standing right next to the other wall, which is conveniently not shown in the artwork. There is one table with stools in the whole place, and then some standing areas around the bar and high top tables. Big whoop. TCD

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Opening soon!! Speculation from WDWMagic is that Baseline Tap House may open in a week or so. Volunteers for a Fiend on the Scene™ mission to check it out and report back? :) Quote Disney's Hollywood Studios will be unveiling its new Grand Avenue and Baseline Tap House in the very near future and we've got an updated aerial view of the new area. You can see in the image above that a construction wall is being installed at the far left side of Grand Avenue, which will keep guests away from the unfinished area once the area opens. The Baseline Tap House is holding cast member previews this weekend, so expect an opening for guests imminently. Aerial photo for WDWMAGIC by Colin Chardavoyne @cchard. Travisma 1,317
MEH. I've bought a few adult beverages from various places around WDW, and have never been that impressed. Overpriced and weak. I might stick my head in to see what it looks like, but the way things are going, you will probably need to book a time slot 6 months in advance to walk up to the bar.
