DaveInTN 3,247
What do you all think about the rumors of a new ride coming to France? Bogus or real? Or are you like me and don't really give a rats a$$ (pun intended)? http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/06/breaking-permit-filed-rumored-ratatouille-ride-france-epcot/ BradyBzLyn...Mo
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Epcot deserves an upgrade for it's 40th. I'm looking forward to the changes. I don't hold my breath on ANY rumors until the construction walls go up :) Beckers
keith_h 420
Never saw the movie so can't say if it is a good or bad idea. At least the theme fits with the proposed area and isn't replacing a classic like what happened with the Maelstrom.
Beckers 1,136
I've watched the video on YouTube and it looks pretty cool! It's not a boat ride so that right there is exciting.

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I believe it. Epcot needs help. It's certainly within the latest M.O. of Disney to clone a ride. But, don't anyone get too excited about this. I rode the Ratatouille ride when I visited Disneyland Paris. It's OK, but it relies heavily on the use of screens. I'm not a big fan. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I can see it happening and agree that Epcot definitely needs some love. I'd imagine it would be easier to replicate an existing ride from another park than start from scratch. And bringing Frozen to Norway would seem to set the stage for the movies making more appearances in World Showcase.
lightbikes 73
Ratatouille?????? Where would they shoehorn that in?

caveat lector 181
Epcot is definitely being neglected. Having an asset, with infrastructure in place, not delivering on the top line should get the suits attention. Even a modest increase in attendence, has a multiplying effect on the vendors, shops, and food. No brainer. Shorter answer: yep, I see improvements coming epcot. Sent from my handheld doohickie Great idea. We could call one East Germany and the other West Germany. To keep everything in true to Disney standards they could be separated by a construction wall. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Don't forget that next month is the big D23 Expo that they hold every other year in Anaheim. Now that the new stuff at Animal Kingdom is done, and the Star Wars Lands are underway, it's time for a big announcement of a multi-year project at WDW. I expect big announcements about what's coming to Epcot. This addition to the France pavilion will probably be on the list. TCD

djsamuel 322
Friends of mine who work in technical areas at Epcot have been told construction starts in September and there will be announcements made at D23. Maintenance on Universe of Energy has pretty much stopped and some parts have already been removed. More is planned than just the Guardians of the Galaxy change. DaveInTN 3,247
Any chance that the permits are simply related to work for the gondola system? Sent from my handheld doohickie
djsamuel 322
I think the permits for the gondola system were issued a month or two ago. From what I remember, there were no Gondola related structures within the World Showcase. Of course I could be totally wrong, but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express. keith_h 420
It looks like it is going into one of the areas originally intended to hold an expansion country so there should be plenty of room for a decent sized ride and Ratatouille shop.
