jlf 7
Ok now I have heard everything. Just reading my DCL blog when someone made a post about the Dream removing the tables on all the Varandas. The reason, wait for it.....kids were using the tables for step stools to look over the balconies. Two things, will the chairs be next and were the hell are the parents???? lightbikes
DaveInTN 3,247
That is the exact reason I have never booked a verandah room when cruising with our youngest who has special needs. She is a climber. I don't know how comfortable I would be with any small child on a verandah. But I would never expect the cruise line to make the verandah safe for my situation when they offer non-verandah cabins. When my wife and I cruised in February without kids having our coffee on the verandah was one of our favorite things. That would be less enjoyable without a table. Sent from my handheld doohickie What? Dave your taking personal responsibility for your daughter? Dont you know it's other people's fault for not making the veranda safe for kids? dinsey should make all verandas kid safe. Maybe put a full enclosure on ever veranda and remove all the tables and chairs. Regardless if it takes away from others enjoyment and relaxation. Your attitude makes it more difficult for those parents who don't have time to take care of their own kids. Some of them have post their entire days activities on Facebook. Travisma 1,317
They should cover all the open spaces with chain link fence anchored securely so no one can fall overboard, and on the top decks there should be 10 foot high security barriers. If you want to see the open water you can look at it thru peep holes or on closed circuit monitors in the casinos and bars. caveat lector
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I have some big doubts about this rumor. The biggest one- if DCL removed the tables because of a liability concern, then why only remove them on the Dream? TCD

But if true, we have no idea whether they are removing them from all fleet verandas.

You said you had one on your cruise a few weeks ago, but there are lots of people reporting that the tables were removed weeks or months ago: http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2017/03/dcl-removing-verandah-tables-due-safety-concerns/ TCD

The two I had Thursday were wonderful. Also, tables still on the MAGIC, actually 2 on our customary "little" verandah.
