slices 16
Finally getting around to doing a trip report. Loaded up the car the night before. Quick lunch stop in Davenport, next time we're leaving earlier. Got there around 1, checked in and upgraded our original one day tickets to 3 day Discovery tickets. Glad we'd reserved a golf cart. My wife took the kids to the pool while I set up. Screen room went up ok, but the tent really takes two people to put up. Fortunately someone was kind enough to help me. Getting a new tent for the next trip anyway. This one is quite low, I think it was made worse by the fact that the tent is from the UK, but our double air mattress is US size which is bigger than a UK double. We got the much talked about fried chicken for dinner. Kids had a play while we waited for it. Off to the campfire to toast smores afterwards, came back before the movie though. slices 16
We'd originally planned to arrive on the 20th before extending, so we'd booked Hoop dee Doo for the 20th. Because of this we decided on Epcot as we figured it's less tiring than MK. Worked out well. One hitch, camp stove didn't work, so no coffee. Mostly due to this we were a little later than planned getting to Epcot, but still made our reservation at the garden grill. Hadn't done a pre rope drop breakfast before. Was good walking straight through, didn't quite realise how far it was from the entrance though. My son wasn't doing well by the time we for there but the bowl of fruit on the table helped a lot. Food was good. After breakfast we headed over guest relations to get the DAS pass for my son. In hindsight I would have done Disney springs on arrival day and got the DAS pass there which would have saved tine there. Seas with Nemo, followed by icecream, and then journey through the imagination, hadn't done this before. Was impressed although should have checked out the photo booth things. The kids begged to do test track next, should have probably insisted on lunch at this point. Was good, a lot to do after the actual ride. Then took my son for a walk out side of the park to calm him down before lunch. Fish and Chips from the Yorkshire chip shop, well they don't do much else. Oh and a pint of bass. Nice but not as a good as an actual English chip shop. Back to the fort, for some swimming before Hoop Dee Doo. Ended up getting a bubble machine while waiting in line. Salad and corn bread great at keeping the kids calm until things started. Really enjoyed it, although my wife and son didn't quite last to the end. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk I had the sangria last time as I don't recall them having a beer I wanted. Did they get rid of the Yuengling? I remember they offered bud light so I had sangria. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Great job on the trip report so far! What loop were you in? Looks like a full hook-up site. TCD
slices 16
Nope, 1500. I'd faxed in a request for that loop and to get near the comfort station. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

slices 16
That was the loop behind us, not that there weren't sites with lots of tents and vehicles. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
slices 16
Day 3, Magic Kingdom. This went really well, kids played with bubbles while we got ready. Then quick stop at Trails end take out to get some breakfast, ate it by the playground. Wife and daughter got these, I tried the biscuits and gravy. Next time I'll try the waffles. Over to MK to use our first fast pass at Haunted Mansion. Then over to get a DAS pass for Elena. Watched Majesty Makers and did the carousel while we were there. Then to buzz light year. Lunch at Crystal Palace. Really enjoyed this characters really patient with my son. Elana and Phillar magic after lunch. Oh and Cinderella was there as well, which was pretty much my kids reaction. Got my son an Elena doll in the shop afterwards. After that we were getting tired, started with one child wanting to go and then both, so we headed back to the tent. After a bit of a rest I took my son to the swimming pool, on his bike. Wife and daughter headed back to MK. I let him play at the pool until about 5 40 which I worked out gave me about enough time to get us out of the pool, back to the tent and to the campfire. The promise of the campfire got him out of the pool. We swung by the meadows shop to get some hot dogs and toasted them, followed by smores Stayed for the sing along this time, but didn't bother watching the movie it was a bit too light to see it anyway. Wife and daughter used our fast pass for Dumbo. Did country bear jamboree which didn't impress my daughter much, and magic carpets. They got back in time get watch the fireworks from the beach, and bought new a pizza in the way. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Very nice. So what's the deal with the tent from the UK and Union Jack towel? I feel like you left something important out of your story. TCD
slices 16
Originally from the UK, my wife is from Massachusetts but but spent the last ten years in the UK. Moved here (Florida) last June, to be closer to her parents who retired down here a number Iof years ago. We shipped the camping equipment, given it by design fits the criteria if compact and expensive. Plus we only bought the tent recently. slices 16
Last day, we planned too much. Had Ohana booked for breakfast as my daughter is mad on Lilo and Stitch but soon realized we wouldn't be packed away in time. My wife tok the kids without me. Left over pizza, my breakfast. What I missed Wouldn't book a breakfast for the last day when I'm tent camping again. I think in hindsight we would have done Ohana in place of Garden Grill. Got packed away in time to grab a shower and a coffee before moving the car to the overflow lot and getting the bus to Disney springs. Met the family and had lunch in T-Rex, we've eaten here before and loved it, this time we were just too tired. Will definitely move this to the start of the trip next time. Some quick pick and mix Lego shopping, and we were ready to go home. New stitch hoody a hit. Bus back to the Fort and then the drive home. That's the camping gear unpacked, when I moved everything fit neatly in two of those boxes with the lids clipped shut. Think I need more boxes.
