SCTigerCock 171
I've seen referenced not to use the green hose attached to the water connections. Why and what's it for?I'm "assuming" cleaning other things? :rofl2:
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Green hoses aren't good for drinking water anyway. It's mainly put there for "fire" emergencies and the site attendants use it to hose down the sites. Who knows what previous guests have used it for.
wak648...Bill 94
Who knows what previous guests have used it for.Flavored water?

It's mainly put there for "fire" emergencies and the site attendants use it to hose down the sites. Who knows what previous guests have used it for.I was going to say that they probably aren't rated for drinking water - and I know I've seen the CMs using them to clean up after campers. I'm sure they don't have any kind of anti-backflush, so who knows whats in them ...

HillBillyWhisperer 20
It's used to wash dishes by some. :rofl2: They shall remain nameless.I use it to clean my RV sewer hose after dumping.
bigdisneydaddy 9
I believe they have backflow preventers on them and use the same supply as the water you hook to your camper, having said that, I use the green hose to wash things outside and keep the pad clean as well as rinse the slinky hose when we leave. parrothead7368 aka Norm 101
Even if it wasn't used for sewage, it shouldn't be used. The green hoses break down over time and expel pollutants that aren't healthy. Best Regards,Norm
beccaewert 10
I wash our dishes with the water out of that hose......OH MY WORD! Where else do you get water? I'm so confused.......
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
You can use the faucet. It is not the water supply that is bad, it's the hose itself. Run to Wal-Mart or any camping store and pick up a "Drinking Water Hose" That one is designed to be safe and not add chemicals to the water that runs through the hose!!! parrothead7368 aka Norm 101
Wal-mart has a 25' hose for $10.
