They do a good job with mosquito control. Once in a while, during wet season, there will be a short outbreak, but they typically get right on that. TCD
swimmarz 72
I read somewhere they were currently bad, due to the rain from hurricane mat earlier this month, I am bringing a fogger/ yard control spray

We had a wet summer and fall, but I'll bet it's under control by now. I personally have never had a problem with mosquitos at the Fort. Can't say the same about a lot of other Florida campgrounds. The yellow biting flies were worse, but they should be gone by now. And they seemed to be more underneath the trees.
djsamuel 322
We checked out last week and they were pretty bad; along with a few other biting insects. This was in the 200 loop.
ependydad...Doug 176
Horrendous. We faired OK with our Thermacell, 2 citronella candles, and a fan running, but they're bad. Don't walk outside of the chemical fog from the first 2.

We had a wet summer in South Alabama and they are terrible.

Mrs.TN22 12
We were there 2 weeks ago(right after Matthew), and they were horrible. I have not ever had a problem with mosquitoes there, but this time they were bad.
AuburnJen 777
They handed us a can of Off spray when we checked in for no charge. The mosquitoes are pretty bad right now. I usually don't get them but I have been bitten quite a bit when I am not in front of a fan.

Since your wife is allergic I think you should use some type of repellent regardless of time outside. If you have issues with DEET as a repellent Picaridin is effective and not greasy. It is all I use these days other than permethrin treating my clothes when I know I am going to be in heavy tick areas. Even there I still use Picaridin on exposed skin. DramaMama .......... Janet 75
When we got to our room at POP there was a can of repellent and a note telling us to please use if we felt the need.
