It is nice to pull our little hybrid onto a tent site. Sure, I almost exclusively use the comfort station, but those few extra steps let me visit more often and for a longer time. At colleges,the sneaking is still going on, and the consequences of getting caught are minimal. But they don't play games in the Disney College Program housing. If you're under 21, you are placed with others not of age. They actually do surprise inspections, and if there is any alcohol or illegal drugs found in an apartment EVERYONE gets told to pack up and go home. My girls saw it happen. I think the big difference is that Disney isn't a government entity, and their housing is on private property. There are no constitutional law issues in their housing facilities. My point is that there is a lot more supervision and security in the DCP housing than there has been at any of the State Universities my daughters have attended. I'm very familiar with a couple of small, Christian colleges in this neck of the woods. Zero tolerance. In general religion affiliated schools tend to be stricter on moral and legal issues than you will see in a public school or many secular private institution. Even secular private institutions tend to be stricter than public institutions. A couple of things make it easier to do this. One is the schools are frequently much smaller than public schools. It is less of a problem to keep control over hundreds as opposed to ten thousand, twenty thousand or more students. Private schools of all flavors can also be much more selective in who they admit giving them a better opportunity to keep out the riff-raff. In some ways I think too much strictness does a disservice to the students as they lose out on dealing with issues they will have in real life. Both of my girls went to state universities. All of the dorms were of mixed ages and it gave them a chance to learn how to say no to partying and drinking on their own volition. It also gave them exposure to a large cross section of our society which I think has helped them with their jobs and determining who should be in their circle of friends. They would have eventually learned this regardless but I think it was much better learned when they still had time to as opposed to after they were in the work force where mistakes can cause you to lose your job. I had a professor once tell me the education you get in college is to learn where to get the answers you need, what you learn in class will be mostly forgotten or out of date in just a few years. I know everyone has a opinion here, but it's going to get to the point where you would be better off to book a resort off property to be able to afford a Disney vacation. Like I said earlier, I think, many people save for years for a Disney vacation and spend $500 a night at the contemporary is nothing because it's usually a once or twice in lifetime vacation, but if you are a true camper and do it for camping not just for Disney, it's getting a bit out of control. The value resorts are cheaper than a site, unless you can stay in a partial. As far as towels go, I actually understand why they don't have them at the pool. I can normally get a 2 bedroom condo for 100-150 a night on the Tugbbs Timeshare forum. I highly recommend it to other Florida people. Just request the dates (Max 60 days out) and do not jump on the first decent offer, you most likely get an offer for 100 a night along with a few that are like 300 a night, I send those a no thank you :).
