VFLnSFD 0
When I was a kid, and we camped at FW, we always took our bikes and used bike locks. Is this still necessary? Sorry for bombarding y'all with questions today. We are in our final packing stages!
ftwildernessguy 778
Only lock the bikes you don't want stolen.
keith_h 420
I would lock a bike regardless of how safe an area appears or is reputed to be. It only takes a 30 seconds to lock one up and less than that for someone to do a snatch and run.
VFLnSFD 0
Thanks! That's what I figured, but I thought I would check with the experts!
Cortezcapt (Derek) 156
I have left a lot of stuff out and around at our site but I do lock the charger to the golf cart and would lock a bike, especially at the marina or outpost, just to be safe. disneylitch......Debbie 61
We have been camping at The Fort for over 15 years and have never used locks
Andrew Roberts 17
I always lock mine would rather not test the system with my stuff. better to be safe then sorry. And as much as we all love feeling safe at the fort. I have had thing walk away from my site and the parking lot up front. Alway remember not everyone there is on vacation
FunFinder265....Cody 36
I agree with the majority, I do feel my belongs are safe at The Fort, however I will lock up. If someone really wants something, they will get it from you whether it's locked or not, so I'm mainly just keeping the honest people honest and preventing the opportunistic thieves from running off with something of ours. BigTom 76
Locks are just for honest people anyway.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Yup. Lock your bikes. Stuff has been swiped at the Fort. And, bikes and scooters are tempting to unsupervised hooligans, which, unfortunately, can be found at the Fort from time to time. There are many stories of bikes being taken for joyrides and ditched somewhere. The Fort is a big place. Even if your bike is only taken on a joy ride, you don't want to spend your vacation looking for it or hoping that it shows up at the Lost and Found. TCD

Retired and Happy (Ken) 101
I've never locked a bike at the Fort in the 15+ years we have been going. Come to think of it, I have never HAD a bike at the Fort, so maybe ... Yes I would lock a bike and a GC charger
CJHokie 43
We always lock them, but we have expensive mt. bikes. I could totally see someone taking a bike. Heck, our friends we camped with last Christmas at FW had their sway bar stolen from their campsite.
lightbikes 73
Have never used bike locks, but they aren't expensive bikes. As well they have a rather different look with the lights on them. Have however had other things stolen, including swim suits.
twiceblessed....nacole 433
We typically lock ours up... at the site and down at the marina. But, I'm not sure that we've ever locked them if we're parked at TE for a meal.
