GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
With no more Fort Camper Rentals, trips to the Fort on my own are tough. Has anyone found a reasonable alternative? I've considered a Disney tent, but I'm not going to lie... I like heat and air conditioning.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
A Disney Tent, plus a portable air conditioner?? For heat, most of the current electric heaters are safe in a tent. I used an electric mattress pad and electric blanket when tent camping. This company has a couple of hybrids, hard to tell, but maybe not much more expensive than a popup. http://www.mcrfl.com/travel-trailers
Seals 111
If going the tent + ac + heater route you may just want to buy your own tent rather than rent a Disney one. You can get some good deals and many are pretty easy to set up.
Travisma 1,317
What is the vehicle you would be going to the Fort in? Pickup there are small, bed campers. SUVs have tents that attach to the lit gate area. Lots of options
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
I'd be in my Jeep. We already have an RV, so I'm not looking to buy another camper. This is more for if Z and I do a quick trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cortezcapt (Derek) 156
I'd get a tent, and see if you can't find one of the portable air conditioners that you can just run the exhaust and drain line out of the tent. Even if you had to buy a new one if you used the set up more than once it would probably be cheaper than renting a camper. Or just keep practicing with the camper till you get more comfortable with it and then you can just bring it down anytime. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
twiceblessed....nacole 433
Hmmm... unless you're going to crash in your Jeep and buy all your meals out, I would think that taking the RV would be easier? If you don't want to mess with the tanks, then you could use the CS?
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
We were lucky not to need to rent any campers for WWW this year, so I haven't had to look around recently, but the in-laws rented from Meacham in the fall and had a good experience. I'm not sure if they're the cheapest though. It's a little harder to compare the rental vendors these days as some have add-on fees for different things.

Hard to cook that cheap. But no fridge either.... Sigh.... This is why I have 2 trip at Coronado currently on my calendar.

This is my tag-along trip, so I'm not in charge of timing (or anything). They're doing the dining plan, and I begged off of the big-ticket/pre-paid dinners they've planned. As soon as they said they were doing MBYBBQ I thought "Sweet! Chicken on the beach it is!" :) Katman1356...Jason

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Only here could a thread about inexpensive options for camper rentals turn into an all-out fried chicken bonanza! LOL Katman1356...Jason and momof3kids-Yvonne
