sherryberry 35
I am very sad to say I have never been. I have lived here 20 years but have not been to the Beacon. Yet. Oh, no! My dad claims it's not as good as it used to be. I hope they didn't mess with any of the recipes - I used to love me a beacon burger!

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Time to continue.... Monday mid-morning hitched up again and continued South. Stopped at the Florida Welcome Center Then checked in and set up in a very nice secluded site at Anastasia State Park After having a work telecon, decided to go in search of dinner. Was recommended the Conch House. After dinner, came back to the camper for a bit then decided to visit the beach. Coming in the next update.

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Anastasia sounds like a great state park. Unfortunately we're too long for the sites. But really enjoying your report!

dblr....Rennie 224
I was able to get our rig into Anastasia State park, a 39' 5th wheel towed by a full size Kenworth truck. It was tight and I did push some shrubs around but got into the site with only 2 back ups and even blind side back.

dblr....Rennie 224
Gwen, all hooked up we are at least 65', it is possible with planning. I did book when we towed with a regular pick up so our choice was based on that but was able to fit without a issue. If you can fit the Fort you should be fine. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
It's time for me to continue on. After dinner, I went back to the camper, and decided to go out to the beach. My plan was to head there for sunrise the next morning, but knowing myself, decided I'd better play it safe and also go for sunset. This the rental place, snack shop, and WiFi location I didn't actually venture onto the beach itself, but they have some very nice boardwalk overlooks The lighthouse is off..... The lighthouse is on :) One last attempt at artsy fartsy ocean shot Then I went back to my camper and did some work, got some sleep, and got ready to head on to WWW the next morning! mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
I have one last post for this part of my trip.... The next morning, I headed out, and on my way out of the park at the dumpsters and dump station, saw the following: I spoke with the owners for a few minutes and we compared units. There's is a new one with an inside kitchen and wet bath, and mine is older with the outside kitchen. I then headed on to Orlando. I had to stop into my Orlando office and solve a computer issue I had which is MUCH easier when actually on the work network, visited with some of the teams I work with in Orlando, then hopped on 417 all the way to the Fort! This is the end of this chapter of my trip, but it continues on here:

BigTom 76
We stayed a week at Anastasa several years ago and took the goast tour one night just for the fun and learn about it then. Had a lot of fun and learned some history about city legend maybe true or not, but had a good time and can say been there and done that and got the shirt that glows in the dark. Taking the GKs up for a week this summer if health will let me. Probably will not take tour again, once was enough.
fladogfan aka Gretchen 259
I like all your photos, even the artsy-fartsy one. I really like your outside kitchen, seems with the T&B being small it would make it really tight inside. I hope we can stop on our way back this summer. I had camped 40 plus years ago in a pup tent at Anastasia, walked to the show they had in daylight, able to see the huge spider webs built across the path. Fortunately high in the trees. Still creepy walking back in the dark and knowing they were up there. Learned later the spiders were most likely wolf spiders.
