mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Tuesday, dawns beautiful again. Today we had a mission. To try a placed called Grits and Groceries..... It's been featured on Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives, and many other food magazines. And OMG, this bread pudding is better than Ragland Road, and that's saying ALOT!! Then another relaxing evening lakeside Wednesday was a work day for me, and then turned into an all day pajama day. The rest of the group went junkin.

twiceblessed....nacole 433
LOVE the picture of all the trailers at the CG. Super cute! Looks like you had a great time :) Dutch ovens... embarrassed to admit, I've never used one of those and not sure I'd even know how. I really need to learn

I always joke (when bringing people food during an illness, after a surgery, etc), that "I don't cook...but I can order a mean pizza" I do, usually, forgo the pizza, but run to Costco for one of their pre-make, pop-in-the-oven, meals instead. At least that is "homemade" by someone... haha :)

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Moving on.... Oh, I forgot to mention, on Tuesday evening, I went to Marty's house and had an absolutely wonderful evening with her family. We had a great conversation, good wine, and good dinner!! (Big fail on the pictures though)!! Wednesday was a work day and pajama day, so no pictures. Now, we're on to Thursday, April 21st. Some of us are moving over to Croft State Park, others had to head to their respective homes. I'm going to mash Thursday - Saturday into one post, as I don't have many pictures. We took the drive over to Croft and got set up. This park is not near as nice as Lake Hartwell. The sites are not as level, no asphalt, and not as close to the lake. The bath houses were nice though, and of course the company was great :) I had a devil of a time leveling the camper. The front needed to be so low that I had to get the front wheel as low as it would go, lower the stablizers, adjust the front post some more, raise the stabilizers, lower the front end again, then lower the stablizers again. When I hitched up, I could not get the camper on the hitch at it's highest point. So had to lower the stabilizers again and adjust the front post so that I could get the front high enough to clear the hitch. What a pain!! (My front wheel post is two pieces. The wheel can be raised and lowered, and the entire post can be raised and lowered, so getting the balance of those two adjustment points was not easy). After getting set up we had a nice evening of games, leftovers, a fire, and chatting. Over Friday and Saturday, we visited small towns and antique shops, ate at hole in the wall places for lunch, then came back to camp for another evening around the fire. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Sunday, April 24th. It's now time to say goodbye to all my T@B friends and venture South. We all pulled out together, and stopped at a nearby McDonalds, then on our separate ways. I was heading South, most other folks were heading North. Rest stop on the way to Savannah Savannah KOA South - I thought I had booked a pullthrough, but I guess not. This was laundry day. They had a very nice facility. They led you to your site, and took care of all the check-in very quickly. Shortly after I got the setup done, a couple of ladies dropped by my site to ask about my T@B. It turns out they had one of the newer T@Bs, with my same floorplan, expect they had a wetbath. After getting some of my laundry done, I wandered over to their site. they have one of the new fancy tents. Because of differences in the design of my unit, I can't use one of those tents. But honestly, don't really want one. If I want tent space, I'll just set up my big EZ-Ups. I like some of the dfferences in the design of the kitchen, but don't think I'd want to take up a lot of space with a shower in my unit. There is a beautiful lake on the property And that's all for Sunday. After getting my laundry done, and some other things all cleaned up, was ready to continue South on Monday. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I like that tent those ladies have hitched up to their Tab. But, I wonder how well that would perform in a heavy rain like we get in Florida? I didn't know they were putting full bathrooms in Tabs now. Cool. But, it must take up half the floor space inside. TCD There was a previous version of that tent made by Thermarest with a two pole design that would have held up very well. This single pole design from what I've heard reported is very hard to keep "tight". Yes, the full bathrooms are taking up the space in the front closet and the on/floor coolcat space. It is a very small wetbath with toilet and shower all in one. They are putting standard window AC units up on one wall in wetbath units. It's not an option I would consider. I have decided that I get caught up in the love & fellowship with friends and that it's worth it to not have pictures of the event. :) I'm going to have to go hunt pictures of the T@B with bathroom. I'm having a hard time imagining it.

Having looked at the T@B with and without the wetbath I would not want it as it takes up too much room. Having a wall mounted A/C in our trailer I wouldn't like that either as it takes up a spot better used for cabinets. One thing we've learned with this trailer you can never have too much storage. sherryberry 35
Did you get to eat at The Beacon in Spartanburg? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk My dad used to go to the Beacon almost every day when he was in high school. After he moved away, served in the navy, and started a family, he started taking us up there (he still had a sister in SC that we would visit). The owner always remembered him and would send us home with a pie. I was always scared to order for myself. I didn't think I could "call it" the right way. I haven't been in a long time and don't even know how they take orders now. Do they still have someone call out the orders to the kitchen?
