keith_h 420
If you are looking for an overnight in North Carolina RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads has a good reputation and is easy to get to from I-95. They are Good Sam Club member. Website: http://www.goodsamclub.com/travel/campgroundsandrvparks/generalinfo.aspx?cgid=270001323 I go a different way but would guess that it would put you 9-10 hours to the Fort which is similar to what we have from our house. We don't like marathons so we stop in Savannah, Ga which is a bit over halfway and leaves us 4-5 hours to the Fort. We used to stay at the KOA there but this last trip is was a bit run down and not as clean as in the past so we are looking for a different campground in the area. If push comes to shove we would still use the KOA as an overnight as it is easy to get off and on I-95 and has gas stations with pretty easy access for trailers. ependydad...Doug 176
Thanks :) ...and yes, I-95...should be quite the adventure! Be aware- coming to Baltimore, you CANNOT take the tunnels if you're carrying propane. You MUST take I-695 in either direction. I have stopped at a variety of places do you have ballpark stops planned out?

That would put us 9.5 hours away from home. From there we are not too sure where to stop over...def not wanting to rush and i think 9 hours a day of travel is good enough...haha... We arrive at the Fort Nov 11th which is still a bit far off, but i like to preplan early. Besides, i've notice a good bit of campgrounds are seasonal.

Once you get down here to NC and further south most of the campgrounds stay open year round but I suspect many if not all will be closed by mid October further north.
