Quote Google Street View coming to Walt Disney World parks? by mike · February 5, 2016 Share1 It appears that Google might be bringing Street View to a Walt Disney World park near you! Google has had Street View at Universal for a while now, but never in a Walt Disney World park. That looks like that could be changing and you could soon take a virtual walk around the Magic Kingdom from the comfort of your own home. Twitter user @dichuy posted this picture of a Google Maps Street View employee taking a ride across the Rivers of America, returning to Frontierland from Tom Sawyer Island. Zooming in a bit, we see the camera mount, in green, a little better. A better photo of the mount can be seen here on this employee at Machu Picchu. Google will be on property for the next few days. http://blogmickey.com/2016/02/google-street-view-coming-to-walt-disney-world-parks/ Tri-Circle-D and Avatab.... Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Very interesting! I clicked to read the article and see that they updated it with another photo showing the equipment in the MK: I wonder how this works- like does the guy have to buy a ticket? Do they need to get permission from Disney to do this in the park? TCD

Who knows they might incorporate this into MDE so when you want to find a building the street view picture comes up. Or they give you a walk through of how to get there. If they are following step by step directions through the parks it will be horrible. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk keith_h

Beckers 1,136
I wonder if they tried to get Disney to let them do it when the park was closed. As big as that thing is I bet Disney made it have its own park ticket! I wonder what it weights??
Avatab.... Steve 124
When they put the views out to the public it will be fun to see if the cameras caught anyone doing anything crazy. The Google cams have caught some very strange things in the past.... TCD might even find some RMOG's mixed in there I wonder if they will just do the parks or include the resorts like the Fort? One time I was walking in my neighborhood and saw the google car drive by 3x. I forgot about it and then GSV came up on my other message board, so I checked all the streets I remembered I was on. Found myself on one. I did not do anything crazy or strange, but they did blur some spots, like my hat, my tank top, and my face.

So we waved our hands out the windows. That's what passes for crazy for us So no one recognizes that vest-guy in the picture? He looks really familiar, maybe from someones parade photo on here? I wish I could remember.
Specularius 102
I don't understand. There was already some street view of the Magic Kingdom. I even posted a screen capture once that just showed a foot with no body.
Specularius 102
Found it. djsamuel
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Maybe this project was to cover "all the rest" at WDW? Or there was some problem with the first pass of the MK? (those floating legs are creeping me out LOL)
arthuruscg 34
Maybe they are doing multiple paths to be able to crop out the guests.
