Since our Info pages are on the fritz until the server company gets things sorted, I'm putting this duplicate page up here as a resource until the regular page is back up and running.  Thanks to Super Geek for making this possible!!

There are currently 799 campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. These sites are broken down into 4 classifications:
• Partial Hook-up (90 sites)
• Full Hook-up (156 sites)
• Preferred (123 sites)
• Premium (430 sites)

Tents are allowed on any level of site - partial hook-up, full hook-up, preferred or premium. Preferred sites tend to have a smaller sand/coquina area and a larger paved driveway for RVs and travel trailers. Premium sites are fully paved, have no sand pad and tend to be not only longer, but approx. 3' wider than most other classes of sites. The paved entrances to Premium sites are also wider to make it easier to back in bigger rigs.

Fort rules state that only popups, van campers, and tents are allowed on partial hook-up loops.

Camp sites are back in only. There are no pull-through sites.

Pets are welcome in designated pet loops. There is a $5 per night fee for campers with pets (flat fee regardless of number of pets). The loops closest to the dog park are 300, 400 & 500.

Loops with the easiest access to the Meadows/Pool area are 600, 1300 & 1400.

Most camping loops include Comfort Station that provide private showers, laundry facilities and ice machines. Loops 600 and 700 do not have comfort stations.

There is parking available at campsites for one vehicle plus your camping vehicle. Additional vehicles should be parked in the overflow parking lot near the Outpost Reception area (be sure to ask for an extra parking pass).

Wired/FREE internet access is provided at all sites. Disney is in the process of adding FREE WiFi throughout their resorts and theme parks. There is currently FREE Wi-Fi available at some campsites at Fort Wilderness, but not all. For the latest information on Internet Access at Fort Wilderness, CLICK HERE.

NOTE FOR PEOPLE TRAVELING WITH OTHERS STAYING IN THE FORT WILDERNESS CABINS: The 1100 camping loop (Premium - no pets) is very close to the 2100 cabin loop. For more info/photos, see the Cabin Page.

Partial Hook-up
Sites vary in length and are intended to be used for tents, pop-ups and van camper-type vehicles. Sites include a paved driveway and large sand/coquina pad.

Fort Wilderness published rules state that Partial Hook-Up campsites can not accommodate motorhomes and travel trailers, and can accommodate:
1 tent, popup or van camper + 1 tent, maximum of 10 Guests
– or -
2 tents, maximum of 10 Guests

No Pets are allowed on Partial Hookup sites.

Hook-Ups include: *
power (see below), water, cable, wired/paid internet access

Power provided:
110 volt/20 Amp
110 volt/30 Amp
220 volt/50 Amp Service

Also included:
picnic table and charcoal grill (no fire pits provided / no campfires allowed)

*NOTE: There is no dump station at the Fort.

Loops:
1500 - Cottontail Curl
2000 - Spanish Moss Lane

Comfort Stations:
• between 1500 & 1600
• 2000 (2 comfort stations at opposite ends of the loop)

Additional Notes:
Loop 2000 tends to have larger sand areas with no obstructions for large tent setups, but is more isolated.
Loop 1500 is right in the middle of the action, but the the sand areas are a bit smaller and may have obstructions like trees in weird places.

Full Hook-up
Designated for all levels of campers, sites vary in length. Sites are a combination of paved and sand/coquina.

Fort Wilderness published rules state that Full Hook-Up campsites can accommodate:
1 RV + 1 tent, maximum of 10 Guests
– or -
2 tents, maximum of 10 Guests

Pets are allowed on designated loops.

Hook-Ups include:
power (see below), water, cable, sewer, wired/paid internet access

Power provided:
110 volt/20 Amp
110 volt/30 Amp
220 volt/50 Amp Service

Also included:
picnic table and charcoal grill (no fire pits provided / no campfires allowed)

Loops:
1600 - Timber Trail (Pet Loop)
1700 - Hickory Hollow (Pet Loop)
1800 - Conestoga Trail (Pet Loop)

Preferred
Designated for all levels of campers, sites vary in length. Sites are a combination of paved and sand/coquina. Preferred sites are similar in size/configuration/services to Full-Hookup sites. The locations of the loops are what classify them as “preferred” as they are located close to the Settlement/Marina area.

Fort Wilderness published rules state that Preferred campsites can accommodate:
1 RV + 1 tent, maximum of 10 Guests
– or -
2 tents, maximum of 10 Guests

Pets are allowed on designated loops.

Hook-Ups include:
power (see below), water, cable, sewer, wired/paid internet access

Power provided:
110 volt/20 Amp
110 volt/30 Amp
220 volt/50 Amp Service

Also included:

There is a grassy dog walk area located behind the 300 loop along one of the canals. The entrance to the dog walk is near site 328.

"Along with the help of a few 'operatives' (TCD, FlaFortCampster, DisneyBishops, Tiggntaz, and others) I have developed a resource to address a particular need in the Fort Fiend community:

Every map available for Fort Wilderness only list the loops numbers and they are not drawn to scale... until now!

Announcing the Fort Wilderness GoogleEarth Site Map. This is still an early version and there are many improvements to come, but I wanted to release it now to keep others from duplicating my efforts, especially due to the recent interest in such a resource. Since there are improvements to come, my prime request is that you not redistribute the .kmz file (GoogleEarth placemarks file), but feel free to send folks to the website to download it for themselves. This way, folks will always know where to go for the latest version.

Another request, use this information for good, not evil! Seriously, if FW suddenly starts getting tons of requests for specific sites they may decide to stop honoring such requests altogether. Besides, the chance of a particular site coming available to coincide with your check-in is pretty remote during all but the slowest seasons. So the suggested method for getting the type of site you want is: list the things you want in a site, suggest a loop that you think accomplishes those goal best, and then perhaps mention a couple of sites that you think would be ideal.

As I mentioned above, there are many improvements to come. The most recently completed was to update the 600 loop to match the newly expanded configuration. Next will be to add the cabin loops.

I am very excited to hear your feedback as to how this resource could be improved. Much more information about the project and plans for the future are on the webpage. So, are ya ready?

A Brief Tutorial: as posted on Fort Fiends .net
First, you must download and install GoogleEarth software from here. If you have done that already and can successfully launch it and see the satellite imagery, then you are ready to use my file.

The next step is to download my placemarks file from here. To get started, I'd recommend getting the Fort Wilderness.kmz file. It is smaller than the Fort Wilderness.kml. Once you download the .kmz you should be able to double-click it to open it. If you get an error message saying you need to pick an application, find GoogleEarth to open the file.

My file is a set of data that gets mapped into your GoogleEarth. Once it is opened you should see a folder in the left pane under Places called "Fort Wilderness". If you see two (or more!) "Fort Wilderness" folders you would do well to select and delete them all, and then re-open the newest one.

If you double-click the folder, your view should shift as you fly to Fort Wilderness :banana:. The initial view is a high altitude position to see an overview of the whole Fort.

From here you can use the hand to grab the view (just click and drag), or double-click anywhere to zoom in a bit. The more you zoom in, the more info you'll see. For instance, you will see the loop name first, but if you zoom in you will see individual site numbers.

Note also, that as you got closer the big marker for the Meadows Recreation Area was replaced by the individual attractions in the rec area (the Sing-a-Long and Bike Barn can be seen in that last picture). If you see a site name that is underlined in the Places pane, that site can be clicked on to show more info... usually a picture of the site.

You can try to click any icon you see, and there is often more info that will pop-up. For instance, of the three icons you see in the overview the Settlement and the Meadow have pop-ups with video in them, whereas the Outpost one is merely a marker and has no pop-up.
That is a loop tour video (compliments of Tiggntaz) and some other info about the loop, including average walking distances to Fort features.

If you put your cursor in the top right of the view, navigation tools will appear which will allow you to manipulate your view, in just about every way conceivable (pitch, rotation, elevation, etc).

But the best advice of all is to play around with it... you can't break it! You'll be amazed what you can discover. Under the Places pane, there is a Layers pane with TONS of cool stuff to explore... try turning on 3D Buildings and check out the Disney Parks!

It's funny, I was reading thru the post about the loops, and right away I saw 3 rules that the Fort breaks.

They allow TT in the partial loops

They allow pets in the partial loops

Heck, they allow pets in every loop even though they state there are dedicated pet loops.

You may put in a request for a particular loop/site, however please note that this is a REQUEST ONLY and there is no guarantee that you will get what you request.

Many factors play into this, including whether you're checking in during a busy time of year or a particularly busy day.

Prevailing wisdom is that it is better to give what you want/need in a site and why, instead of requesting a particular site. In other words, "we would like to be close to a comfort station because..."

Based on information provided by the Fort's front desk, best recommendations are to have your request noted on your reservation. While this is often sufficient, you may also fax the same request to the Fort about 5-10 days prior to your arrival.

Note: the resort is unable to modify a reservation in the system until 5 days prior to your arrival.
