BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Heads up for any Fiends on the Scene headed to the parks this week. Lots of reports around the interwebz of really long lines at bag check - partly because of the holiday crowds rolling in and partly because they're being more thorough than usual. A couple of photos from the last few days... Mousesteps Page Liked · 20 hrs · This was bag check at the Magic Kingdom today! Inside the Magic Page Liked · 19 hrs · if you're visiting Magic Kingdom this holiday week, make sure to allow for extra time to enter the park as they are currently checking bags more thoroughly. shoreline99 137
Yes, I have a friend that's there now, she said it was at least 20 minutes to clear the bag check. She also told me they are inspecting strollers, etc.
Littleolwoman.aka.Kristie 119
With the heightened threat of crazy people out to destroy I am thankful. How terrible would an attack at WDW be. Let them check it all.
keith_h 420
Those pictures are why Rene and I don't take any bags, backpacks or purses to the parks. We just throw our ids into a wallet and go.

We just throw our ids into a wallet and go. Great if you can do that. We had this up on our FB page and BeckersDadJohn commented that they stopped him in the "no bag" line because he had cargo pants on. So they really are stepping it up. In our 3 weeks there recently, bag check was hit or miss in terms of thoroughness, but there were more times I ran into people that were actually looking than not. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Yikes. I am usually at WDW for Thanksgiving week, and expect crowds. But, I've never seen a bag check line like that! I don't like the idea of having to stand in that kind of line, but I'm glad they're actually checking the bags. TCD

Beckers 1,136
Brian went through the no bag line and they stopped him because they saw the clip of his flashlight on his pants pocket. It's a really thin clip. We were both impressed they spotted it and stopped him.

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Lines for bag check got increasingly worse as the holiday approached, but we didn't see lines nearly as bad as the pictures above. We did notice how thoroughly they were checking everything. And did anyone notice all the helicopters flying over the parks? I saw one man in the no bag line stopped because he had a sunglasses case in his pocket.
Littleolwoman.aka.Kristie 119
Kind of makes ya wonder if they know something we don't.

It's a really thin clip. We were both impressed they spotted it and stopped him.I always am the designated bag tote guy, but one day on our last trip we made a quick run to the MK without our bag. I got stopped at the no bag line due to my knife clip. Usually I drop it in my pocket before hand but forgot this time. I don't even know how the guard saw it since my shirt bottom was over it. I had to take it to a locker and answer a few questions. Have you ever noticed the octagon shaped little building just outside of the exit gates and over near the bus/ferry side? There are little lockers in the wall there, about the size of a mailbox. So it you forget you have contraband on you, before you hit the gate run over there and lock it up. Travisma 1,317
I was wondering what they were for! We just noticed the little lockers this trip. The guard escorted me over there, took down my name in case I forgot to come back, then told me to select any box that had a key in it. I guess you could just wander over there and use one beforehand. Oh, my daughter got stopped the next day because she had a key chain that was a rifle shell with bullet attached bottle opener. They told her that someone might get upset if they saw it in the park, so off to the locker it went. It had a slot cut in the shell casing to lift a bottle cap so they was no way it could ever be fired.

bhall 115
....ssshhhh. Don't tell them but I accidentally walked into the MK back in March with my Spyderco. Yes, the clip was visible. Once I realized what I did about 20 minutes later, I just slipped it into my pocket. I kind of feel naked without it. It's a tool that gets used virtually every day. Specularius 102
....ssshhhh. ....It's a tool that gets used virtually every day. That is the key. It is just a tool. I carry one in my pocket as well and have since the 6th grade in school. I also got caught by the exposed pocket clip at the Magic Kingdom one day and the guard looked it over and said put it all the way into your pocket and don't pull it out in the park. I said "Yes Sir" and all was good.
ependydad...Doug 176
I never knew small pocket knives weren't allowed. Heck, I know I've used mine for lunches before. Guess I should be a bit better about being low key with it.

swimmarz 72
Something I have always wondered since they started bag check, is why no check prior to getting on the Ferry/ monorail? If they did that, the line at the park entrance would be only for those arriving by bus, and would be a shorter line as its not 600 people at once showing up, only 1-200 every( calculated at 40 ppl/ bus and 1 bus per minute) few minutes another perk for those staying on site. anyone coming off the mono/ ferry just goes to turn style, and move the current security over by the weapons locker for bus guests.no more upset kids waiting in a long line for bag check at the park entrance would make for a more enjoyable experience.
