BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Parks Bog... Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Expands to 90 Days in 2016posted on November 19th, 2015 by Victoria Lim, Managing Editor, Walt Disney World Public Relations Allow me to plant the seed for the perfect holiday gift: a spring trip to Walt Disney World Resort for the 23rd Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. It bursts into Epcot on March 2 – May 30, 2016, expanding from 75 days to 90. As you take in the gorgeous creations we have planned for you, nosh on sweet and savory Outdoor Kitchen dishes and refreshing beverages. Even the kids will want to have a bite – or your whole portion. Making their topiary debut at the park’s front entrance will be Donald Duck’s mischievous nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie along with Donald and Daisy. And to celebrate the National Parks Service centennial, Ranger Mickey Mouse will join for the first time in Future World. I can’t wait to see how our horticulture artists create the new Floral Sun garden that will celebrate the brightest star in Earth’s orbit with yellow “sunbursts” that pop up across the Future World landscape. And I know my toddler, who couldn’t get enough of the “Cars“-themed play area last year – the Cactus Road Rally garden – will never want to leave the innovative new “Fab Five” play garden featuring Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck topiaries. Musical instruments will be built into the children’s outdoor climbing systems. And we can’t forget about the Garden Rocks concert series – music that spans four decades. We’ll have more details to share in the coming months, but for now, mark your calendars! http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/11/epcot-international-flower-garden-festival-expands-to-90-days-in-2016/

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From Disney Food Blog... Quote News! New Booths and Eats at the 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival January 29, 2016 By AJ The 2016 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is just around the corner. And today, we’re getting lots of news about how the Festival will take shape this Spring! Mark you calendars for March 2-May 30, 2016, as the festival celebrating all things that grow expands to a record 90 days! This year’s event promises to be just as gorgeous as ever. But if you’re anything like us (and I know you are!) you have one question: What about the FOOD? Once again, the Flower and Garden Festival will have a heavy emphasis on fresh ingredients at Outdoor Kitchens. Jardin de Fiestas Outdoor Kitchen in the Mexico Pavilion Is Always a Favorite With a couple of new ones debuting, plus other big news — there’s plenty of new stuff to enjoy! New For 2016! La Isla Fresca and Cider House Outdoor Kitchens Outdoor Kitchens debuted at the Flower and Garden Festival around World Showcase a few years ago, and now we don’t know how they ever did the event without them. This year, Epcot will debut 2 brand new Outdoor Kitchens, which will bring the number to 13. Details are still emerging, but we know that the Kitchens will be called La Isla Fresca and Cider House. La Isla Fresca will emphasize Caribbean influences, with dishes like Jerk-Spiced Grouper or Chicken with Mango Salsa, and Jamaican Braised Beef with Pigeon-Pea Rice. Jerk spiced Chicken Drumstick with Mango Salsa, a Previous Food and and Wine Festival Offering Cider House, on the other hand, will feature a fresh palate of bright fruit flavors paired with cheese. Look for a Field Greens Salad with greens harvested from The Land pavilion, Heirloom Apples, Stilton Cheese, and Dried Blueberries — the perfect dish to complement a Blueberry Hard Cider produced locally in Plant City, Florida. Blackberry Pear Cider was a Favorite at Last Year’s Festival Stay tuned as we cover lots of other new food and beverage offerings from the remainder of the Outdoor Kitchens! Once again, the lineup includes the following: Urban Farm Eats Pineapple Promenade Fleur de Lys Florida Fresh Taste of Marrakesh Hanami THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews Primavera Lotus House Bauernmarkt Jardin de Fiestas Other Festival Food Highlights In addition to Outdoor Kitchens, the Festival will also spotlight other edible gardening endeavors. A new Edible Flower Garden will be located near The Land Pavilion, and promises to offer lots of inspiration for brightening up your plates with flowers. And once again in 2016, Fun Fresh Weekends will take place over the course of the Festival, and will highlight a new theme each week. While the themes include a diverse offering, we’re especially looking forward to April 29-May 1, and the celebration of Florida Fresh Weekend, celebrating all of the fabulous food that Florida has to offer! We Look Forward to All the Flavors of This Year’s Event! We’ll be bringing you all the news about this exciting event as it unfolds. Stay tuned to the 2016 Disney Food Blog Flower and Garden Page for the latest! http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2016/01/29/news-new-booths-and-eats-at-the-2016-epcot-flower-and-garden-festival/?utm_content=buffer403d1&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From Doctor Disney... Quote Tons Of Details Revealed On 2016 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival January 30, 2016 by Doctor Disney Leave a Comment While we’re still waiting for the full and confirmed list for the Garden Rocks Concert Series, there has been a lot more information revealed for the 2016 Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. The best thing is that there will be even more time to enjoy it all. This year, the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot will be upped from 75 to a whopping 90 days as it begins on Mar. 2 and runs all the way through May 20, 2016. Two new Outdoor Kitchens are being introduced with the La Isla Fresca and Cider House which bring the number to a record 13 for 2016, and they’ll be spread all around World Showcase. In the front entrance garden of Epcot, Donald and Daisy will be joined by his nephews – Huey, Dewey, and Louie, who will have their first-ever topiaries make their debut. The new Harmony Gardens will be filled with drums, xylophones, drums, and other instruments for kids to play music on as their led by the “Leader of the Band” Mickey Mouse topiary. Another new thing for the 2016 Epcot Flower & Garden Festival will be “Fun Fresh Weekends” for all to enjoy. Specially themed weekends will take place during the entire festival and bring yet another new element to the fun. Here is even more info: New culinary creations at the festival’s Outdoor Kitchens will take guests on a Caribbean tour at La Isla Fresca with flavors like Jamaican Braised Beef with Pigeon-Pea Rice and Jerk-Spiced Grouper or Chicken with Mango Salsa. At the new Cider House, a Field Greens salad with greens harvested from The Land pavilion, heirloom apples, Stilton cheese and dried blueberries will pair well with a blueberry hard cider from Plant City, Fla. Dozens of new food and beverage flavors will debut, as well, at the festival’s 11 other Outdoor Kitchens: Urban Farm Eats, Pineapple Promenade, Fleur de Lys, Florida Fresh, Taste of Marrakesh, Hanami, THE SMOKEHOUSE: Barbecue and Brews, Primavera Kitchen, Lotus House, Bauernmarkt and Jardin de Fiestas. The first-ever Huey, Dewey and Louie topiaries will feature floral interpretations of Donald’s nephews inspired by a 1943 Donald Duck comic book called “The Victory Garden” at the Epcot front-entrance garden display with Donald and Daisy. A new hands-on Harmony Gardens musical playground will debut featuring Disney’s Fab Five topiaries of “band leader” Mickey Mouse plus Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Pluto and Donald Duck topiaries. With the playground’s interactive drums, chimes and xylophones, children can create their own musical sounds when they’re not scampering across innovative outdoor climbing systems with safe, but challenging, net-based structures. Watch for music-themed plants that add harmony to this inspired play area. The popular Cactus Road Rally play garden returns with Disney-Pixar topiary pals Mater and Lightning McQueen from the hit film, “Cars.” Fun Fresh Weekends add novel dimension to daily festival fun: April 1-3 — Art in the Garden Weekend spotlights nature through the works of plein air artists; April 8-10 – The new Family Fun Weekend presents outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy and a Festival Center focus on bugs with Disney’s Animal Kingdom specialists; April 22-24 – Earth Day Weekend celebrates our planet with special appearances and activities; and April 29-May 1—Florida Fresh Weekend features the state’s edible bounty from Apalachicola to Zellwood. On the south side of Spaceship Earth, Disney gardeners will paint the landscape with a Floral Sun garden and yellow “sunbursts” will sprout in a new Future World topiary garden featuring Minnie Mouse and Pluto. The Ranger Mickey topiary garden in Future World will offer a guest selfie and family photo opportunity featuring a Spaceship Earth backdrop to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the National Parks Service launched in 1916 to conserve the country’s natural scenic treasures. Anna and Elsa topiaries will travel to the Norway pavilion festival landscape following their 2015 debut along World Showcase Plaza in a scene from the blockbuster Oscar-winning animated film, “Frozen.” Nearly 100 topiary characters, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Lady and the Tramp, Simba and Peter Pan, will animate the Epcot landscape surrounded by themed gardens featuring herbs, peppers, orchids and more. By night, twinkling lights will shine across festival gardens and topiaries. The Garden Rocks concert series will present pop bands with music spanning four decades. This year’s lineup kicks off March 4-6 with The Orchestra starring former members of ELO and will also include new-to-the-festival acts like Bad Company. A new edible flower garden by The Land pavilion will showcase petals with flavor. The Butterflies on the Go garden will return with the story of the Monarch’s epic journey across the continent and featuring butterflies emerging from their chrysalises. Each weekend at the Festival Center, guests can dig in for a complimentary hands-on Gardening Seminar experience and create a take-home souvenir or grab a seat to hear tips from experts on a broad range of topics. The center also offers signature festival merchandise, food and beverages. Forty 8-to-9-foot-tall Disney-crafted “flower towers” and sweeping beds of multi-colored blooms will add to the floral splendor of the park’s landscape. At least 70,000 bedding plants will surround the Future World east and west lakes alone; on the water, more than 200 mini-gardens will be set afloat. Talk about a lot to do…Epcot is going to bring forth this year’s International Flower & Garden Festival with some old favorites and brand new offerings. http://www.doctordisney.com/2016/01/30/tons-of-details-revealed-on-2016-epcot-international-flower-and-garden-festival/

Freshly Baked Lemon Scones We are excited to see some favorites return as well as some brand new dishes! This year, the popular Duck Confit returns to the Fleur de Lys Outdoor Kitchen in France. But rather than potatoes as a side, it’s served in a comforting Cassoulet. I can’t wait to try the new dish! Duck Confit Returns As Part of a Brand New Cassoulet at Fleur de Lys in the France Pavilion! The super popular Grown Up Ice Pop returns as well! A Grown-Up Ice Pop Debuts at the Fleur de Lys Outdoor Kitchen in the France Pavilion Festival favorite, The Smokehouse, is also back in 2016. Pulled Pig Slider with Cole Slaw And we can’t wait to dig into Beef Brisket Burnt Ends Hash with White Cheddar Fondue and Pickled Jalapeños again as well! Menu Pricing We anticipate that 2016 prices for most dishes will be in the $3 – $8 range. Don’t forget that many of these will be available for a Disney Dining Plan snack credit! That’s a great value! We will have more information for you about pricing and which items will be available for a Disney Dining Plan snack credit soon!

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Ooh - new Pandora charm! From Disney Parks Blog... Quote Thu, March 3, 2016 PHOTOS – Look Inside Festival Center at 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival by Steven Miller, Merchandise Communications Manager The 2016 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival has returned to Walt Disney World Resort through May 30 this year. A few weeks ago I shared a first look at new products being released at this annual event in a Disney Parks Blog Unboxed video. Today, I have a look inside the Festival Center located in Future World between Mission: SPACE and Universe of Energy Pavilions. As part of Fun Fresh Weekends, the Festival Center will be open Fridays through Sundays throughout the event. The location is home to complimentary gardening presentations and a massive merchandise shop. I was happy to see several of the items I showcased in the Disney Parks Blog Unboxed video. These items include Figment T-shirts, hats, decorative items and much more. I was also delighted to find a table full of Orange Bird products including recently released kitchen towels and mugs. Other items offered this year will include a garden figurine of Donald Duck with Chip and Dale, two coffee mugs and a purple flower pot. Look for additional decorative garden items including wind chimes and garden stakes. For this event, we are releasing a limited edition retail MagicBand that has an edition size of 2,500. Finally, fans of PANDORA Jewelry will be happy to find a new .925 sterling silver charm featuring Spaceship Earth with floral details. Look for this item at Mouse Gear in Future World. The Festival Center is just one of several merchandise locations throughout Epcot where you’ll find select items shown in this article. Here are some additional items I found during my brief visit including Dooney & Bourke handbags, products created especially for Annual Passholders, and a beautiful 12-month calendar filled with image of character topiaries. https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2016/03/photos-look-inside-festival-center-at-2016-epcot-international-flower-garden-festival/
