shoreline99 137
Do you plan two days or three to do both DCA and DL? Looks like we're headed there next year...
rm0530 5
We visited last August and had 3 day passes. That amount of time felt perfect for us to see everything and allowed time to repeat favorites. We had the park hopper option. It was great to go back and forth. The 2 parks had different hours when we were there (one park open earlier and other open later). It was also nice to leave for meals in DTD. The 2 parks have separate fast pass systems so technically you could have passes in both parks at the same time if you're talented with the timing.
red...Susan 37
I like three day park hoppers the best for Disneyland and California Adventure.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
We had two coast annual passes, and spent parts of 7 days in one or both parks. We were in the area a total of 9 days. But then we "can't" go all day. IF you have WDW annual pass, the cost of upgrading to a two-coast pass is only about $50 more purchasing a 5-day Disneyland. THEN, your WDW pass becomes a premium, and you get 20% off merchandise at DL, and 15% off at most restaurants including counter service.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
A couple of things to consider as you plan: - even though there are only two parks, there are the same number of attractions in those two parks as there are in WDW's four parks. There are unique shows which you will want to see. Can it all be seen in two days? Maybe. But you'd have to plan very carefully and go hard. If you go at a busy time, two days won't cut it. -there are three nighttime shows worth watching- World of Color at DCA, and Fantasmic and the Fireworks at Disneyland. For optimum viewing, you would want to have three nights to see those. Also, the TCD twins say the Paint the Night parade is not to be missed. You could get good seats to watch that and the fireworks in the same night, but you wouldn't get a good spot to watch Fantasmic that night. TCD
shoreline99 137
Thanks all - Mo just posted that the Diamond celebrations were extended through next September, so we'll be sure to try to see as much as we can. I don't expect we'll have a chance to make this trip as a family again, so we do want to see as much as we can, although we will have other plans in CA while we're out there. TCD - thanks for the tips. Feel free to keep posting more!

Unfortunately, our AP's expire before then and we probably will not renew as college visits loom large on the horizon.
